I was still in shock by what he just said. 

''What do you mean?'' I asked confused staring into his eyes which darkened even more after he confessed to me.

Shawn pulled the car and we stopped on the side of the motorway while cars were driving past us, with loud noises, making the situation even more tense.

Shawn didn't answer. It seemed like he just couldn't. He squeezed his eyes and looked down, his hands intertwined in one another. You could tell from miles away that he was anxious.

''I don't know where to start.'' Shawn said while putting his head in his hands, his voice almost breaking.

''Hey. Hey! Look at me'' I screamed a little ''You need to calm down''

''Katherine I can't!!''Shawn screamed

''Stop! Of course you can. Breathe. There you go, okay. Take a deep breath and start from the beginning''

''Phew, okay.'' Shawn said, then swallowed looking at the scenery behind me. 

''It all started when I left for school today. My mum made breakfast for me and Aaliyah and then she said that she needs to borrow my car because hers was in the mechanics cause it needed to be checked. Just regular checks, right?'' Shawn said nervously while his right leg started fidgeting

''Okay, yeah. And then?'' I said and rested my hand on his leg to make it stop fidgeting and calm him down.

''Well then, she had to leave because she was late for work''

''Okay I still don't see how you're responsible for the car crash, Shawn''

''You don't get it. I am.'' 

''But how?!'' I asked and raised my voice a bit. I couldn't look at him like that when he surely wasn't guilty. He needed to stop torturing himself needlessly.

''Okay, look. Yesterday, I noticed that the brakes of the car weren't working properly. I didn't think it was serious because they worked for most of the time of the day but they didn't work only once. And that was when I came home after school. After that I didn't use my car so I forgot about this but then the only one that used it after me, WAS MY MUM'' Shawn ended his sentence with a high tone making me jump again

''Okay so why didn't you tell her about the brakes before she got in the car''

''Because I'm a stupid dumb fuck, that's why!'' Shawn said while punching the wheel of the car

I can't deny it- angry Shawn was a hot Shawn. ;)  ''Woah okay Katherine, calm down'' I thought to myself and shook my head.

''Listen to me. If you forgot to tell her, that doesn't make you guil-''

''That's the thing though! I didn't forget. I remembered but I still didn't tell her''

''Woah.''

''Yeah, woah.'' Shawn said mocking me

I looked down, surprised by what he just said. He didn't warn his mother even though he remembered. Why? Why would he do such a thing. It's not like him. Altough, I can't talk about his personality much. I've literally known him for just couple of days. 

Shawn's POV

What have I done?! My mother is in hospital because of me and the only girl that I've ever cared about so deeply, now thinks of me as a criminal. I can't do this.

I got out of the car and slammed the car door leaving Katherine alone in it. I think we both need some alone time right now. 

I went to the back of the car and leaned against the trunk with my arms crossed, looking at the cars that were passing us with a great speed. They reminded me of  how quickly things can change. For 1 second I could look at a green car and after a moment it had already passed. Just like the moments in life. They come and go and sometimes we don't appreciate them. We only do when they have already ended badly. Now my mum represents this green car, that have come and gone and I don't even know how to approach her. I am so scared to go to the hospital, I can never look her in the eyes knowing what I had done.

Katherine's pov

Shawn just slammed the door at me. As if I was the bad guy? No, no. This is not right. This is nothing like him. There's gotta be an explanation for all of this.

I got out of the car and went to Shawn. He was sitting on the dusty ground with his head in his hands. Crying.

I couldn't look at him like that. I got on my knees and touched his shoulder, making him look at me. His eyes full of worry and anger. It seemed as if these two emotions had different colours and you could find both of them in Shawn's eyes. No matter of what he's done, I decided to hug him tightly and try to make him feel better. He gasped. I suppose he was surprised I did that after his guilty confession. At that moment I realised that I didn't care about that. All I cared about was him and how to make his pain go away. After a 2 min embrace we let go and looked at each others'eyes. We were both crying while we were hugging. Him because of his mum and me because of seeing him so hurt.

''There has to be a reason why you didn't tell her. I don't see you as lying to her and putting her in an obvious danger. There has to be an explanation, Shawn.'' I said while rubbing my tears off.

''Kath! What are you talking about? Of course I didn't wnat to put her in an obvious danger.''

''Then why didn't you warn her about the brakes?'' I asked confused

''Because I didn't think it was that serious. After all, the brakes didn't work only once during the whole day so I thought it was my mistake and not the brakes' fault.''

''Shawn!'' I said excitedly, after I found out that Shawn didn't want to injure his mother  consciously after all ''Then why are you being so hard on yourself?'' I continued

''What do you mean?'' Shawn said quietly ''Of course I would. It is MY fault that she is in hospital right now''

''How do you know that? The braked might not even be the thing that caused the accident. Another car could have hit her and-''

''No. It is the brakes. After I got a call from the hospital I got one from the police as well. When I asked about the cause of the accident I was PRAYING to not hear the word 'brakes' but I did, and it tore my heart. What will happen now, Kath? What if the police finds out I am the one responsible. Am I gonna go to jail?! Katherine I-

''You're not going anywhere. Listen to me. We don't even know how she's coping. We're not even at the hospital yet. I suggest that we go there first, and then we can think about everything else.''

''But Kath-'''

''Everything will be fine. I will make sure of it. We will get through this. Together.'' 

Shawn didn't say anything. He only smiled, and that smile was what I've been waiting to see all day.

Then he leaned in and looked me straight in the eyes, put his hand on my neck while his thumb was stroking my cheek. Then he came closer, making me breathe heavily. And then...our lips met, kissing me slowly but passionately. Shawn put his hand on my hips, bring me closer to him while we were on our knees.

And there we were, after fighting all day, crying and screaming at each other, our kiss finally happened. In the middle of a motorway, on our knees, while we were dusty from the ground and the cars around us kept maing noises. But you know what? We didn't care. We might have had our conflicts, but now everything was peaceful, and at that moment, I didn't care about the cars, nor the dust, nor the police. Because at that moment everything was perfect.

 I haven't posted in a whileee I know and I'm sorry. To make it up I decided to make today's story longer and we finally got the first  kiss ya'll!! 

P.S Shawn's coming to London tomorrow!! ( I might even have the chance to meet him lol) so I'll dedicate these next few days to him and trying to meet him, so I'll se ya next week loves.
