58.Never not
"There's nothing more, Mrs.Jeon" the doctor said as he placed back the files on the table. "We've been treating you for six years" he continued.
Looking up at you and Jungkook who was sitting there, the doctor sighed.
"I shouldn't be saying this as a doctor, but" he dragged as Jungkook kept caressing the back of your hand, under the table with his thumb.
"It's impossible for you to get pregnant" the doctor finished, making your throat tighten.
Time skip to dinner~
"Look here, I made japchae, your favourite" Jungkook said with an excited bunny smile plastered on his face as he made you sit on the dining table chair.
You gave a small nod, your face blank, mind void.
Giving a kiss on your temple, Jungkook sat on the chair across you.
A few minutes passed as Jungkook and you kept eating the dinner.
You couldn't take it anymore. The lump in your throat tightened more as you dropped the fork on the table and tears started to stream down you eyes.
"Cupcake" Jungkook said while immediately getting up and kneeling in front of you.
Wrapping his arms around you, Jungkook pulled you into his embrace and you kept sobbing with your head on his shoulder.
"Will you leave me?" you asked in between your sobs, thinking what if Jungkook doesn't want to be with you anymore.
"What? No, jagi. Why would I leave you?" he asked while caressing your back. "I'd never leave you. You're my everything" he said as your hands held his shirt material in your fists.
"B-But I c-can't-" Jungkook cut you off.
"All I need is you, Y/n. I wanted to start a family with you, and you are my family, okay? I'll never not love you" he said while kissing your head, still kneeling on the floor.
A few minutes passed and your sobs turned into small sniffles.
"Remember when we both shared our first kiss to each other in the orphanage when we were ten years old?" Jungkook asked.
"You were too shy to touch your lips after that" he said and chuckled at his own statement.
"And you were always too shy to even glance at me" you said back. "Even now" you added with a small sniffle.
Jungkook pulled back and pouted, but nevertheless, he smiled.
"Now, smile for your coconut head" he said with a bunny smile and you couldn't help but smile at his face.
Jungkook pulled you into his embrace again as you were still sitting on the chair with Jungkook kneeling on the floor in front of you.
Soothingly, he ran his fingers through your hair.
"Remember this Y/n" Jungkook started in a soft voice. "I've loved you, I love you, and I will always love you" he finished and slowly pulled away, arms still around you, to kiss your forehead.
"No matter what" he said while looking back into your red and puffy eyes.
You nodded as Jungkook wiped the tears off your face.
Two days later~
"Happy eighth wedding anniversary, Jungkook-ah" Jimin said with his mochi smile.
"Thanks, hyung" Jungkook said and you just smiled a little.
You both were currently in the police station where Jimin works as a cop. Jungkook is an architect and he recently got the contract of renovating the police station since it was constructed almost twenty five years ago.
"I wanted to give you a file. It's on my table" Jimin said while turning back.
"Pumpkin, I'll go get the file and be back" Jungkook said and you nodded. "Wait here and then we'll go on our date" he said with a bunny grin plastered on his face.
And you nodded again with a silent chuckle before Jungkook went away with Jimin.
You sat on the waiting chair beside a small girl who was sitting alone while hugging a teddy bear.
"Hey" you said in a soft voice and she looked at you. "I'm Y/n" you said while stretching out your hand for her to shake.
"I'm Jiya" the little girl said in a small voice. "You look like a flower" she started.
"Really?" you asked and Jiya nodded a little.
And then she started talking about random things like why you look like a flower and about chocolates.
Five minutes passed and Jungkook came back with Jimin.
His eyes fell on you who was busy in a conversation with Jiya.
"Who's that, hyung?" Jungkook asked while pointing at the little girl.
"Who?" Jimin asked while taking a more careful look at Jiya. "Oh, that's Jiya. Her parents died in a car crash this morning and she's been here for the whole day" he said.
"It's almost night time. Didn't her relatives come to take her?" Jungkook asked with confusion.
"No. They just abandoned her and started the process to transfer her parents' properties to themselves" Jimin added and sighed.
"We'll wait for another hour and if no one comes to take her by then, we'll leave her in the orphanage" Jimin said.
On the other hand, you noticed Jungkook and Jimin who were talking, far away from you.
"Oh, Jiya" you called. "I've to go now" you said, making the little girl pout.
"No no, I won't let you go" she said and immediately wrapped her tiny arms around your waist.
She tried to hug you more tighter and you looked at Jungkook who was already looking at you.
A week later~
"And this is our princess' new bedroom" Jungkook said cheerfully while opening the door to the bedroom that was recently made ready for Jiya.
Still in Jungkook's arms, Jiya opened her mouth wide in amusement while looking at her very own bedroom.
Walking in, Jungkook slowly sat on the bed as Jiya sat on his lap.
"You like it?" he asked and Jiya nodded excitedly with a smile.
Standing with her tiny feet on Jungkook's thighs, she held his shoulder for support.
"Can I call you appa?" Jiya asked cutely and Jungkook blinked his eyes before slowly nodding his head.
"Appa, take me to eomma" she said. "If you're my appa and Y/n unnie is your wife, she's my eomma. Also, she looks after me like my mother did" she stated.
Jiya's too intelligent for a five year old. You and Jungkook know it very well.
"Okay, let's go to eomma" Jungkook said with a smile while carrying Jiya out of the room, to the kitchen.
You were chopping the vegetables to cook Jiya's favourite food for lunch when Jungkook came in and made Jiya sit on the kitchen counter.
"Eomma" Jiya called as Jungkook leaned against the refrigerator.
You halted on your words and Jiya slowly wrapped her arms around your neck, signaling you to lift her up.
Taking her in your arms, you felt Jiya kiss your cheek slowly.
"Appa is looking like a bunny" she said while pulling away.
"I know" you said with a smile on your face, eyes misty because of joy that she called you 'eomma'.
Stretching her hands towards Jungkook, Jiya jumped to his arms.
Pulling you along, a family hug was instigated. One of Jungkook's arms was holding Jiya, the other around your waist.
You wrapped your arms around the father-daughter duo as Jungkook pecked both of your heads.
"My parents are cho chweet" Jiya said in the hug, making you and Jungkook chuckle.
Of all the rights of a person, the greatest is to be a parent.
