It all lead downwards, like a never ending spiral that would lead them all to their dooms. It never stopped, because fate didn't work that way. It all went downhill, faster and faster and faster, until they felt like they couldn't take it anymore.

But if they stopped, they would be stuck there. Never to move, never to see the world in all the perspectives that it was meant to be seen in. They couldn't, not if they stopped.

But stopping too late would mean they run the risk of being plummeted into the sea.

And that, is the dilemma of a rock going downstream.
