"I'm sorry, but this isn't working out."

Darn. Again this speech?

She knew it all too well. The firing speech. Why couldn't she ever keep a job? It had been the same old routine for months and months - go everywhere in the city applying, finally land a job, keep it for two days, and then be fired!

I mean, it's not like she was a bad worker. She always showed up to work on time..well, except for the times when she slept in accidentally.

But she was always good at the job! Well, except when she worked at the maid cafe and slipped in the shoes, spilling hot coffee on the guests. Or that time when she worked at a grocery store and accidentally gave a customer the wrong order..3 times in a row.

However, this job working at a coffee shop was the most recent one.

"I-I'm sorry, did I do something wrong?" Suna asked, blinking back tears.

The employer looked at her with a look of irritance. She pushed up her glasses, the wrinkles on her forehead wrinkling even more. "Well, on your first day here, you managed to break the cappuccino machine, spill coffee all over the floor, and deliver an almond milk latte to a man who specifically told you he was allergic to any kind of nut." The lady informed.

Suna gulped nervously. "O-Oh.." She fiddled with her dress. "What did I do wrong on my second day?"

"You didn't even show up for work!" The lady growled.

Suna twiddle her thumbs together. "Ah, I understand."

No wonder I'm being fired...

The lady softened for a moment before letting out a sigh. "Look, Suna, you're a kind, pretty girl, and you seem pretty intelligent..well, most of the time. But, you just can't do anything right." She bluntly stated.

Suna nodded. "I understand. I'm sorry, and thank you for your time." The two exchanged goodbyes, and Suna quickly left the cafe.

She sighed as she stood by the entrance of the cafe. She looked down at the ground, decorated with drops of rain coming from the sky.

"The one day I don't bring my umbrella." She sighed.

Suna started walking down the street, getting drenched by the rain. She tugged at her dark-brown hair that rested just above her shoulders.

She walked tiredly, until she started to feel her knees tense up. She sat on the side on the curb, the rain dropping onto her head.

She sighed dejectedly as she rested her arms on her knees, and laid her head down. She let the cold, wet raindrops soak her and her clothes.

Until the rain suddenly stopped.

Suna looked up to see what had happened and met eyes with a man. He held an umbrella over her as he started to become wet. "Hey." He greeted, apathetically.

Suna continued to stare at him. "H-Hi.." She nervously stuttered

The man looked to the side before focusing back on Suna. "I'm here to make you an offer." He told.

Suna tilted her head. "Who are you?" She asked.

"Nayato Onise. Owner of Honey Bun Cafe." He stated. His eyes shined while talking about his work. "I'm here to offer you a job."

Suna's eyes widened.

Did I hear that right?

At this point, Suna would take any job. To have one just offered to her was miraculous! "Yes! Yes, I'll take it! Thank you so much, I-"

"Now wait. It's not that simple." Nayato stopped her.

Suna furrowed her eyebrows. "What do I have to do?" She asked.

"Give me 100 days." Nayato commanded.

"100 days? For what?" Suna asked.

"Give me 100 days of your time. I will personally train you to be the best worker you can be. If I decide you'll be a good asset to my cafe, you can stay employed with me."

Suna's eyes lit up. "That sounds great." She blinked.

"But." Nayato began again.

Suna listened with worry.

"If I decide you're not a good worker, I'll fire you."

Suna's heart dropped to her stomach. "O-Oh.." She sighed.

Nayato looked at her. "Do you accept my deal?" He asked, softly.

Suna thought for a moment. This could be her only chance of ever getting hired again. She could be the best worker if she could do it in 100 days..but could she do it? Could she prove herself worthy of working at Nayato's cafe?

And if she got fired, there was a likely chance that she would never be hired again. She'd have to live off of Top Ramen her whole life.

Suna bit her lip, looking down at the ground. She curled her fists as she tried to decide what to do. She looked up at Nayato with determination in her eyes.

"I accept!"
