Chapter 86
Kassy was sat up in bed, covers over her legs. She watched Shiro, who was staring at his shirtless figure in the mirror.
"All these midnight McDonalds are catching up with me." he sighed, patting his belly. "I really need to start working out again."
"It's cute." Kassy replied. "I have a belly, you don't think it's cute?"
"I like it on you."
"And I like yours on you." she out of bed, wrapping her arms around him from behind, chin on his shoulder. "Seriously. You gained some weight, what's the biggie?"
"Because. I've been Muscle Man my whole adult life. That's what Lance calls me."
Kassy laughed. "Baby, you still are Muscle Man." she squeezed his bicep. "See? And even if you weren't, it doesn't matter, does it? You're still my Shiro whether you're skinny, muscly, fat, or whatever. I'm still your Kassy either way. Aren't I?"
He smiled softly, turning to her. "Yes. Always, my Kassy."
"Besides. I think it's cute." she smiled, poking his stomach.
"I am still Muscle Man." Shiro looked at his arms. "You'd be scared of me if you were a guy flirting with you and then I came over like, hey man, you get away from my girl. Right?"
Kassy looked at him. "What? If I was a man, flirting with myself?"
"No. If some dude was flirting with you, and I came over, he'd be intimidated, right?"
"I mean, baby, you literally saved the entire universe. I don't know who wouldn't be intimidated."
He smiled. "Good. You feel like McDonalds for breakfast?"
"Not really. Ulaz will, though."
"He's my son, after all." Shiro smiled, putting a shirt on, kissing Kassy again. "Can I tell you something?"
"Yeah."
He leaned in, his mouth inches from her ear. "I have a crush on you."
She suppressed a giggle. "Can I tell you something?"
"Yes."
She did the same: her mouth a few inches from his ear. "I have a crush on you too."
Shiro smiled. "Would you maybe like to... hold hands?"
Kassy burst out laughing, and slapped his chest gently. "You are the biggest loser I've met in my life."
"Is that a no?"
"Absolutely not." she said, taking his hand, and kissing his cheek.

"Okay, as you are fit to go home in the next few days, here's some final information." A doctor said. Rora was sat up, having had made her full recovery. Colleen was on one side of her, Axca the other. "There's a small chance you could get some pain with breathing over the next few weeks. This is just the muscles adjusting after surgery, as they are permanently altered now. Some aspirin or ibuprofen should help with this. We'd suggest avoiding intense exercise for a few months, as breathlessness can cause some discomfort."
Rora nodded. "What about singing? That's one of my jobs."
"You're a singer? Your occupation says fashion designer. Um... I'm not sure. With this surgery, it's 50/50 when it comes to singing."
"What do you mean?"
"The lungs were physically torn by the glass. During surgery, they were essentially patched up. There's a chance you'll be able to sing normally, but there's also a chance your breathing won't be the same. You won't notice it normally, but you will when you're singing."
Rora's smile fell. "Oh."
"I'm sorry it had to be like this. With some luck, it'll all be okay."
Colleen touched her arm gently. "It'll be okay, Rora, I'm sure it will.
Axca nodded. "We'll be hearing that voice before we know it."
The doctor made his leave, and Axca held Rora in her arms.
"Hey. Uh, those wedding dresses you designed for us are ready to try on. So at least there's that."
"Love you, Axca." she murmured.
"I love you too."

"Hey, Rora." Hunk had brought round some stuff for her after she arrived home. "I brought some soup, some wine... some cake, too. How are you feeling?"
"Physically, better. The car drive home was hellish, though."
"I can imagine." He replied, placing the things on the kitchen table. "Do you need help with anything?"
"No, no, I'll be okay. But thank you." she smiled, giving him a hug. Axca came into the kitchen, Rora's bags over her shoulders.
"Hey, Hunk. How's Shay?"
"She's well, yeah, she's good." Hunk replied.
"Oh, how long until the little one arrives?" Rora asked.
"3 months now. A year is so long." he sighed.
"Especially compared to those Altean pregnancies. 6 months, are you having a giggle?" Rora asked. "Literally, you get no time to prepare at all."
Axca nodded. "Galra pregnancies are 9 months, like humans."
"That'll be okay when we have one, then." Rora smiled. "No matter who carries it."
"You guys are having a baby, too?" Hunk asked.
"Oh, eventually." Rora replied. "Not for a while, as you can imagine, on account of my fucked up lung."
Hunk smiled. "When are you two getting married?"
"We have a venue, we're just waiting on confirmation of a date. It'll be October time, though."
He nodded. "I'll get my best suit ready, then. Alright, guys, I'll see you later."
"Bye, Hunk." Rora waved as he went off.

"Daisy, Daisy, give me your answer do." Matt sang, wrapping his arms around his Fiancée's waist. "I'm half crazy, all for the love of you!"
Daisy laughed. "You're such a dork. Will you ever stop singing that song to me."
"Never, ever, ever." he replied solemnly. "Even when we're old."
She laughed, turning and planting a kiss on his nose. "You are cute, arent you?"
"Only for you, my queen of darkness." he winked, and she snorted.
"Queen of darkness? That's new."
"It's true. You're my special little black cat."
Daisy laughed more. "Stop it right now."
Matt grinned. "I'm messing with you. I love you."
"I love you too." she replied, before taking his hand and placing it to her stomach. "She loves you too."
"I can't believe I'm gonna have a daughter." He smiled, his face full of pride. "I love you so much, Daisy." he murmured, kissing her.

Lance held Selena in his arms. "I'm gonna miss you when you go home." he said. "Yes, I will! You love your Uncle Pants, don't you, don't you?"
"You're glad Kassy let you babysit?" Keith asked.
"Abso-wutely!"
"Will you stop with the baby talk?"
"No!" he replied.
Keith smiled. "I'll admit... it was fun."
"Look at that face. Those eyes! They're so blue!" Lance said. "Like the blue lion." Selena in his arms giggled, and he looked at her. "Oh, Keith, she's so cute. Can we keep her?"
"No, I think your sister would kill you if you stole her child."
He frowned. "Ugh, I've had baby fever ever since Nadia was born."
"I know you have." Keith replied, staring at Selena. He had to admit, she was a cute baby. There was that Lance-ish glint in her eye. "Okay, Lance. I'll have a baby."
Lance stared at him, eyes wide. "What?!"
"If you want."
"For real? You're not messing with me?"
"Why would I lie about something like that? I think we're ready."
Lance smiled, tearing up. "Thanks, man. You're the best."
