review: The Penguin Little Black Classics are usually short stories or poems in small little books that give you snapshots of a novel or of an author's work. I'm slowly making my way through them, and this is number 15.

I've only ever read anything my Guy de Maupassant for my English coursework, and that was a short story that I didn't really like. I didn't read all four stories in this collection mainly because the last two did not seem like something that would interest me, but I did really enjoy the story of 'Femme Fatale' itself.

It was cheeky, and surprising for its time due to its discussions of a woman's sexuality. The setting was beautiful for the book, and the narrative was extremely enjoyable to read.
