Aru had rolled her eyes for the 15th time. Aiden kept laughing, occasionally looking at the photos.

"You can't deny it was funny."

"I most certainly could," Aru replied. "You know. That's kinda what I'm doing."

"C'mon, Shah," He replied. "It was funny."

"No it wasn't!" Aru crossed her arms.

"Would you not laugh if someone came up to you and told you they knew where you lived?"

"I bumped into you. You should've walked faster!"

Now it was Aiden's turn to roll his eyes. "Please. You weren't looking where you were going."

Aru just smiled. "And who was standing there for four minutes straight?"

"It was like, one!"

"Sure."

"I like you, Shah"

That was unexpected.

"But not like-"

"Like friends," She said, a touch too cheery. "You know, being friends with me means on Wednesdays we wear pink."

"I need more guy friends."

"Whatever you say."

The alarm rang.

Aru shot up from her bed, sitting straight.

"Was that...a dream? Or flashback?"Aru said quietly. It scared her. What was happening?

The last thing she needed was old memories flooding back.

She dragged a hand down her face in annoyance. She checked her phone.

'I'm up already. When you're ready, meet me at the breakfast counter on the ground floor. See you then.' It read.

She replied with a simple 'yeah'.
