Briartangle stalked through the undergrowth. She could hear the sounds of the hunting patrol she was leading. "Alright, spread out everyone!" She signalled to Vipertiger and Zircongaze. "You go towards the berryclan border, Snowlight and Summerheart, you go to the Seasonclan border, me a Tideleaf will go towards the giant oak tree." She flashed a glance at Tideleaf, and he nodded. She looked at the rest of the patrol, and they moved away.  

"Can you smell anything?" She asked Tideleaf. 

"I'm not an apprentice anymore, but yes, I can, coming from the oak tree." Briartangle laughed, and nodded.

"Then let's go!" She raced of in that direction. She soon slowed down and held up her tail to tell Tideleaf to stop. "Finchsong and Archspirit had the same idea we did." She gestured over to where 2 cats were stalking a couple of squirrels. She waved her tail to get their attention, and they both looked over. Briartangle flicked her tail again and they nodded. "Go to the next tree, climb it, and jump over into this one, to stop any squirrels escaping."

He nodded and did what he was told. She started to circle, with Fichsong and Archspirit doing the same on the opposite side. When she was in place, she looked over at the others, and making sure that Tideleaf was in place, she pounced on the nearest squirrel. She quickly snapped it's neck and went for the next one, and did the same. Soon, all the squirrels had either fled, or had been killed. Tideleaf dropped down from the tree, carrying 2 pieces of prey. Finchsong and Archspirit each had 3. She had 2.

"Well, the clan will certainly eat well tonight!" She said enthusiastically. The four turned and headed back to camp.

When the hunting patrol had returned to camp, and every cat of Darkclan had settled down to eat, Briartangle came over to Tideleaf, Finchsong, and Archspirit. 

"That was a great hunt today." She said, dropping the prey she had brought for them,

"It was, wasn't it!" Tideleaf purred. The others nodded.

"Well, all I can say is that we should hunt there more often!
