Grian laughed and the group heard a loud horn in the distance.

They all turned to see a red train making its way down the tracks.

Mumbo stood at the train station, a warm smile on his face, ready to greet the new people.

The train slowed down with a loud screech, causing people to wince. Scar covered his ears and peeked an eye open when the door opened.

"Welcome!! It's nice to finally meet you. I'm Mumbo Jumbo, the mayor of this town." Mumbo held out his hand.

Grian saw someone step out and Scar started his way forward.

Grian grabbed his wrist and shook his head, causing Scar to pout and he stood back next to him. Grian muffled his giggle and Scar made a hand puppet to mimic Mumbo's talking.

"I'm glad you are joining us this new year into a new season full of adventure!" Mumbo said and the guy chuckled.

"Hey! It's great to finally be here! I'm-"

"SKIZZ!" Impulse ran over and tackled the visitor in a hug.

The others were surprised to see Impulse's enthusiasm and Gem giggled.

Skizz laughed and hugged back.

"What're you doing here?" Impulse asked, smiling as he helped Skizz to his feet.

"Er- I live here now?" Skizz raised an eyebrow.

Impulse blinked.

"You got a scholarship?"

"Wowww, love to see you believe in my building abilities." Skizz rolled his eyes and Impulse chuckled, scratching the back of his neck.

"No offense man, I'm stoked you're here. I just didn't expect it." Impulse said and Skizz chuckled.

"Wait I thought there were two people." Pearl said, glancing at Mumbo.

"Er- yes that is what I was told." Mumbo nodded and he talked to the train conductor who simply said "he was the only one who got on."

Mumbo looked nervous.

"Can't we just have him arrive a couple days later?" Scar asked, tilting his head.

"We'd be far away by then, won't we?" Pearl pointed out.

"Not necessarily." Etho said, folding his arms. "The forest grows stronger each passing day, but I imagine it'll take longer for it to consume everything. It starts growing today, right? That gives us probably a week until all of it is gone. Some of us could stay here while the others find new land for us to start on."

"Who was the new person anyway?" Grian asked.

"His name was Joel." Mumbo said, taking out a piece of paper. "Joel Beans."

Skizz lifted his head.

"The guy with the green streak in his hair?" Skizz asked, motioning a line in his hair.

Mumbo nodded.

"Ohhh yeah! I saw him today; said something about how he didn't wanna go without his girlfriend." Skizz shrugged.

"Wait- you can do that?" Bdubs asked. "You- you can leave?"

Others turned to face Mumbo, who flushed red and stuttered.

"I- I don't know! This is the first time I'm hearing about something like this."

"Look Mr Mayor, do you want to try and find this kid or no?" The train conductor asked, clearly frustrated.

"I- " Mumbo took a deep breath before nodding. "Yes sir, I would appreciate it if you could take me there to try and find him."

The train conductor huffed.

"Seems to me he doesn't wanna be here if he tried to run off." The guy muttered and Mumbo frowned.

"This is a great opportunity for him, I don't understand..."

"Do you wanna come give him that whole speech or keep me here while you yap away?" He snapped.

Mumbo's eyes widened and he huffed.

"I'd be willing to go." Skizz said, holding up his hand. "I bet I could help talk to him since I'm new here too."

Commotion started and Mumbo held up his hands.

"Alright, alright! Who else will be willing to help us try and find Joel?" Mumbo asked.

Skizz stepped forward and others glanced around.

"I'm not gonna let you go on your own." Impulse chuckled, ruffling his hair.

Skizz laughed and smiled, high fiving his partner.

"I'd rather stay here and help out when you guys get back. Someone's gotta try and trek through that forest." Etho said, folding his arms. Bdubs nodded, standing by him.

"Yes, I'd rather stay too." Scar said, "I can help make markers through the forest."

"Anyone else?" Mumbo asked, making eye contact with Grian.

1) Go with Skizz, Impulse, and Mumbo to try and find Joel

2) Stay with Etho, Bdubs, and Scar to help prepare the journey through the woods

Bdubs teasing from the last chapter and now woods? Wow, I wonder what it could mean... :)
