"HER name is Alana Bloom" Will explained as he escorted her through the hallways. "She is a great professional and a good person. She will take good care of you, will help you remember what you can't."
Alice observed the University's construction with attention, it was huge, reminded her of the old times where she studied with Will, which was now only a very disntant memory of the past, vanishing with the autumn breeze.
"I don't know...is this really a good idea? I mean, what if it gets worse?" She stopped. "I mean, I don't even remember going to that graveyard! How could I..." her body trembled, images of worms, dirt and the smell of death filled her lungs "do that...?"
Alice had come back home the last night with the help of the cops. According to Colin, before leaving to the graveyard, she mumbled nonsense about following Bree, which led to her strange destination.
"That is why you need Dr.Bloom's help." Will made her continue walking until a private office with the doctor's name written on the door. "Just try talking to her."
"I thought you weren't a fan of therapy." She told him, Will gave a half smile.
"Not for myself...but luckily you're not me." He tapped her shoulder. "I'll wait here, outside. "
She glanced at Will one last time, feeling pure kindness and empathy in them. Alice nodded and still full of fear inside her soul, knocked on the door, where a voice told her to come in.
The office was a prettty well iluminated room, it wasn't very big, the size of a modest bedroom, but allowing many bookshelves, a sofa and an armchair at the center.
"Hello, you must be Alice" A got up from her seat and shaked her hand with a sweet smile. "I'm Dr.Alana Bloom, I will be responsible for our sessions, please take a seat."
Alana Bloom was a gorgeous woman, almost like a disney princess but therapist version. Her eyes the same color of her shiny, dark long hair. The cheeks and lips a light pink. Her gestures were also delicate, precisive, she was elegant but also real.
"It is great that you agreed on doing therapy, it takes a lot of courage to accept it" She said kindly.
"Thanks but...I'm very sorry Dr.Bloom, but I don't think I will return." Alice apologized, Alana lifted her eyebrows surprised. "I mean, it seems great and all, but I can't afford these sessions...I also have a brother to take care of-"
"Oh, do not trouble yourself." Alana replied "These sessions are being paid by an special program for victim's families offered with importance to the investigation." She explained carefully.
Alice thought for a moment about the offer, she wouldn't be able to get rid of the therapy sessions so soon. But besides her discomfort with a stranger learning about her personal life, she still could help in the case, she could help catching the person who killed Bree. And because of that, she would endure it.
"Oh, that's...great." Was Alice's answer. "Thank you..."
"So, shall we begin?" Alana gave a light smile and grabbed something to take notes in with her pen." Why don't you tell me about you a bit? What do you do for a living, how your life is, anything."
"Um..." Alice held her hands close, Alana took notes, the patient raised her eyebrows. "Are you already writting down?"
"Oh, don't mind me, just writting your name." Alana said, but Alice wasn't very convinced by her answer, making her even more nervous.
"Well..." Alice looked at the corner of the room, the vision of a flowery dress blurred her mind for a moment. She tried to ignore and looked back at the doctor. "I'm 31, um...I live in a flat with my brother at the west of Baltimore. And I also deliever food on a chinese restaurant." She explained.
"Your accent, it's brittish isn't it?" Alana asked, trying to calm her down with a friendly tone.
"Yes, I was actually born in England." Alice explained. "Me and Bree were born in England but moved later to the US with our father at the time."
"I see...what about your mother?"
"Oh...she died at Bree's birth..." Alice said delicately, as the subject wasn't very much said.
"'I'm sorry." Alana replied. "So...there were only you, your sister and your father...must have been hard." She showed empathy.
"A bit."
"And your brother...?"
"Oh, he was born some years later, when our father remarried with an american woman" Alice said. "Colin is truly a blessing."
"You two seem very close." Alana smiled. " what about your father?"
When Alana mentioned that forbidden word, Alice's smile vanished, her expression turned into a sudden stone cold.
"What about him?" She asked.
"How is your relationship with him?" Alana noticed Alice's sudden discomfort.
"I prefer not to talk about him." The patient tried to change the subject.
"Did something happen beteeen you noth?" Alana tried to get an answer.
"Look, I hope I don't sound bratty or anything Dr.Bloom, but...I really don't want to talk about him." Alice said, this time firmer, assurung the therapist that she wasn't comfortable with that subject.
"Alright." Alana nodded slowly while taking some notes. She would respect her boundaries.
Alice observed that woman, so polite, so kind, it was almost so artificially perfect that she barely believed she was real. She wondered how did Alana knew Will, if they were really friends, and the curiosity slipped through her tongue.
"How do you know Will?" Alice asked.
Alana blinked twice, surprised with her question, then adjusted herself at her seat. "We both lecture at Quantico, so he is my colleague." She explained.
"Right...he dif say you're a great professional." Alice nodded.
"Well, that's just very kind of him, thanks." Alana smiled "He actually asked fot me particularly to be responsible for your sessions, you are his friend, right?"
"Yeah..."Alice recalled that they didn't speak for so long. Could they still consider themselves as friends?
"How did you two meet?"
"Oh..." Alice chuckled "I arrived late to a class at college, we studied together at the time, I met Will on the first day because I forgot my pen." Alana smiled at her explanation. "I couldn't leave to get it now, so I just asked whoever was next to me to borrow me one, but people kept refusing. Until I asked to the row behind me, where Will was."
Alice looked behind, a shy boy with curly hair strands falling above his face covered his tense dark chocolate brown eyes. He was writting down as much as he could while the teacher spoke, fully focused on the class, and it would be a shame to interrupt him, but she had no better option back then.
"Hey..." she whispered to him, the guy ignored. "Excuse me..."
"Shhh!" He put a finger above his lips telling her to be quiet, then glanced back to the professor.
Alice looked around, no one else paid attention to them, she wouldn't give up yet. "I'm sorry!" Her whisper got even louder, he looked at her annoyed. "Can you lend me a-" he pratically threw the pen in her direction, Alice struggled but could catch it in the air. "Thank you!"
The class developed itself naturally, no more interruptions. When it was over, the boy got up from his seat and was about to leave when Alice stepped in, interrupting his path. He looked at her irritated, expecting her to move away.
"Thank you, really." She had a bright smile on her face while returning the pen along with a note. "I hope I got your nose right." His expression was confused at those words until he landed his sight on the paper, where a drawing exposed the profile of a man, one very similar, almost identical to him, full of details in blue ink of the pen he lent her. "Sorry, for interrupting the class, hope you accept my apology." She said embarrassed, her hands stuck behind her back. "Anyway, thanks again." The brunette waved at him and turned around to walk away.
The class was already empty and he could listen to her bright yellow heels on the floor when he gave an unexpected answer. "What is your name?" He asked.
She turned to him, already by the door, her joyful expression gave him butterflies, her smile could light that whole campus at that moment. "Alice Mallory."
"It's...a great drawing, Alice...Thanks." He said a bit shy, finding her name just as beautiful as her.
"You can retribute it by having lunch with me" she suggested to him, he blinked twice surprised.
"You don't even know my name" he gave a half smile.
"What is your name?"
"Will Graham."
"Now I know." She said, he held a laugh, she was definetely something. "I know a place that has an incredible mac n' cheese, seriously."
He sighed, Will wasn't a very "friend maker type of person", neither enjoyed much to interact much with others, but something in that girl was so comfortable, so kind, as a warm sunshine in a cold windy day.
"I guess some cheese wouldn't hurt." He commented.
Alice opened a huge smile and pratically dragged him by the arm outside the class, he blushed but didn't complain about her touch. It was kind of electrifying, in a good way. "OH, by the way, I forgot my wallet too" she commented, and Will Graham finally surrended to that sweet creature and laughed.
Alana Bloom heard the necessary, that they met in class and turned friends. Alive realized she didn't need to hear all their story details. Talking about the past could be a mix of happiness and pain, specially when it came to talk about Will.
"It's great that he has someone so close." Alana noticed " did he know your family as well?"
"He knew my siblings, Colin used to play with him when he was a kid and Will passed by to study...he also talked with Bree, she really liked to have him around back then..." Alice interrupted the sentenve suddenly.
Alana stopped her notes, paying attention to the sentence's change of tone for a moment. "Didn't she like to have him around anymore?" The doctor asked.
Alice was caught by surprise with the question, she didn't mean to expose her past so much by only a sentence. She broke eye contact with the therapist, rubbing her necklace trying to think of what to say next. "Things just...changed." Was her answer.
"Can you tell me what happened?" Alana tried to obtain more information, leaning foward curious. Her eyes seemed to scan Alice's soul searching for answers.
"Life." Alice lifted her shoulders pretending to show indifference. "Will and I followed different paths, so it would be common for Bree and Colin to don't have him around anymore. That's it."
Alana Bloom looked at her intensely for a second, expecting that Alice Mallory would magically burst into tears and tell her everything she needed to know. But she didn't. "Alright. I understand." Dr.Bloom simply agreed, not forcing her towards anything.
The session developed and Alice avoided as much as possible not to speak about herself. She would lighten up the room with jokes or ask Dr.Bloom any type of question to avoid receiving one. At the end of the session the results received by the therapist were very, very low.
"Well, I think it's a good start." Alana said, realizing she would have much trouble with that woman. "Should we schedule the next session friday or..."
"Friday? Oh, sorry, I have to take Colin to his footbal game. He needs someone to show support." Alice told the doctor.
"It's okay....maybe monday? By morning? Or in the afternoon, at 3 p.m?"
"I've got work...And it's kind of hard to ride all the way from Baltimore until here in time."
Alana thought she was lying at first but she was right, to go to Virginia all the time while she had to take care of her house....it would be a trouble for Alice Mallory, and Dr.Bloom had the strong feeling that Alice shouldn't travel so much while in unstable conditions as hers.
"I...will talk with Agent Crawford and Will about the situation, we'll find a solution, and when we do I'll call you, okay?" Alana said kindly but still worried.
"Thank you Dr.Bloom" Alice smiled. But she tried to avoid as much as possible the dark brown haired woman that sat on the couch in flowery pattern that she knew all too well.
▫️
"Transfer her?" Will questioned surprised. "Why? Is something wrong?"
Alana Bloom had met with Jack Crawford and Will Graham the next day to discuss about the situation. They were all set in a privet office so she could inform her opinion and suggestion to them.
"It is hard for her to come all the way until here, two hours and a half in a scooter with an engine that keeps breaking." Alana stated while crossing her arms in front of her chest. "She also needs to take care of her brother and their home, can't stay away for too long. Besides..." Alana's voice failed, she needed to be very careful in her words. "I..wouldn't suggest for her to travel so much in her conditions..."
"What do you mean?" Will furrowed his eyebrows. Alana took a deep breath.
"She means that a woman who digs up graves at midnight and doesn't remember it, shouldn't keep driving risking her life and others' . " Jack went straight to the point, translating Alana's delicate and careful sentence.
"If that is the problem I can drive her-"
"You are going to keep working and going to your sessions, remember our deal?" Jack hissed before Alana could agree with Will.
"But she is an important part to the case, we need-"
"That is why Dr. Bloom made another suggestion" Jack interrupted him "she will continue treatment but at her own town, in Baltimore, where she is safer."
"But, can Alana drive all the way to Baltimore...?" Will lacked a brain in that statement.
"Jack and I discussed..." Alana glanced at the agent "...and we think it would be better for Dr.Lecter to help her instead."
"Him? Again?" Will found it odd.
"Dr.Lecter knows the human mind impressively well, his treatment would be deeper and more accurate than mine, maybe faster." She continued, relying her hands at the desk behind her. "His office is at the same city as her, just blocks away from her apartment, which prevents her from traveling."
Will looked into Alana's eyes for a moment, he knew that she wouldn't give up on a patient so easily, which made him fear about what happened between them during that session. "Only that?" He looked at her.
Alana hesited to speak since Jack was there, if Alice appeared in his eyes to be a lost cause he would simply stop the treatment and give up on her. Pursing her lips, she to eased the situation but also tried to be honest with her friend. "She is very private with me, very kind, polite, incredibly funny and optmistic too." She gave a half smile. "But refuses to talk about her past or about what she truly feels, she just says she's moving on with her life for her brother, as some sort of shield to protect herself.... Another thing is that she...spaces out, sometimes." She tried not to put too much effort in the last sentence
"Spaces out?" Jack asked interested. What she feared happened.
"Like staring blankly at a spot by no reason, almost if there is something else there." At those words said by the doctor, Will recalled the scene at his house again, how Alice spoke with the wind, an invisible force in front of her.
Alana was right, she needed greater help than that.
"So she's crazy" Jack roughly summed up the situation.
"No, she isn't." Alana replied fastly before he assumed anything. "She's very much sane, that might be her way of suffering with post traumatic stress, it's more like a reaction than an ilness itself."
Will walked in circles around the room, Jack tried to speak some sense into his head, Alana only observed him.
The special agent finally talked "Will Dr.Lecter agree with this?"
Jack relied back comfortably in his chair, taking the task as done. "He already did". Will widened his eyes at the two of them. "We were just informing you." The situation had already been set, and, even if Will disagreed, he couldn't do anything about it. Still a bit irritated by their non consensual decision, he had to admit...
...Hannibal Lecter was their only hope.
▫️
"And there's food in the fridge" Alice spoke through the phone "I will be gone for just an hour and a half, so if you get hungry during this time-"
"I can feed myself, Ali, it's fine!" Colin replied to her, at the other side of the line, lazily lied on the sofa, watching TV. "Don't worry about me, go to your session"
Alice sighed, she tried to follow the address on the card Will gave to her, where she would meet her new therapist. She still didn't know why Alana Bloom indicated her to someone else, according to Will, it was because of the distance and schedules, but that didn't seem to be the case though.
Whatever were the motives, when she informed Colin that she would go to therapy he was completely supportive. Unlike her, he said that it would be good,.that it was a brave decision and etc. He didn't know about Will or the investigation, only that she didn't feel well and decided to get help. Alice still feared a bit did not enjoy the idea, and changing therpaists so soon made her even more concerned, but the fact that Colin supported her made the task slightly easier.
"I'm really proud of you, for real." Colin affirmed, in a way that he knew his sister would be comforted.
"I'm not winning a nobel prize, Colin, I'm going to therapy." She chuckled. Alice stopped in front of a huge gothic building in front of her, making her body shiver. "Is this...?" She muttered to herself, observing the card and the sign on the street, the address matched. "I think I've arrived..." she didn't know what to think about it yet.
"Really? That was fast. Well, you should go, see you later!" Colin vocalized and hung up before she could even regret the idea.
The clinic was way different than what she expected to be, completely unlike Dr.Bloom's office. No, Dr.Lecter's was huge and serious, with some dark tonality that was quite uncommon to spot. There was a minimalistc let luxurious touch of decoration at the waiting room, something calm yet meticulous in those grey staring walls.
When she waited at the hallway, Alive realized she didn't match that aesthetic at all. She was just a small yellow dressed dot, in a haunting dark grey building, matching the dress with white doll shoes that made noise whenever she walked.
By her side, at the reception, Bree had that funny smile as always. "Creepy place." She commented. "You sure this is a good idea?" Alice didn't reply, she needed to affirm to herself that she wasn't real. "Stop ignoring me, come on, that is so annoying!"
"Ms.Mallory?" A velvet deep voice interrupted her illusions. Alice got up from her seat immediatly, noticing that the door to the offive was now open. "Are you Alice Mallory?"
"Yes...yes, I am." She replied awkwardly, still recovering from the fact that Bree's illusion was still there, sitting by her side.
"I am Dr.Hannibal Lecter..." A tall, elegant man standed by the door. His suit had no wrinkles. A stone, calm expression printed all over his face, marked by strong traces and cheekbones. "You're 5 minutes earlier than I expected". His hazel bewitching eyes scanned her figure, analyzing her slowly, memorizing each detail on the surface. That made her paralyze for a moment.
She thought Alana Bloom was elegant, but that man? He seemed out of a vintage magazine, dressed in dark blue clothes that seemed more expensive than her apartment, even the way he talked so polished, meticulous, it seemed like pure gold. Good thing the FBI would be paying because never in her life he could afford a therapist like him, or even meeting someone at his level.
"Sorry, I just didn't want to show up late." she finally gained courage to speak, something in his sophisticated structure slightly scared her, but she still tried to be confident.
"Well, I do appreciate punctuality." He didn't seem offended for her suprise, maybe a bit impressed instead. "Please, come in."
Hannibal made way for her to walk past him, and at the moment she walked past him through the door, her sweet scent invaded his lungs like a delicious poison, making him curiously loose his breath for a second. He knew who she was, he had a great memory, specially about someone he chose not to kill at a museum (deciding to cook the rude Mrs.Glenn for dinner instead).
But he wouldn't tell her who he was, and she definetely didn't recognize him either.
Alice Mallory was still mesmerized by the office she entered, by the booskhelves at a second floor, the walls colored in grey, with half red curtains that covered the sunlight that came furiously through the high windows. Sofas were displayed around in a modern organization, two armchairs were set in front of each other with harmony but also tension, while Hanmibal Lecter organized some papers above his desk.
The patient sat where she was indicated to, one of the armchairs, while the doctor sat at the opposite one. Their postures were quite distinct, Hannibal was calm, with a serene aspect and his legs crossed in an charmy stance. Alice on the other way, was terribly nervous, her legs knees glued to each other, the hands holding above her lap, as she observed every tiny detail inside that room, with millions of thoughts passing through her head, taking long breaths which Hanninal listened to attentively.
"Dr.Bloom informed me that you are set in Baltimore, so ot was easier for you that she transferred your sessions to me. " Dr. Lecter explained, noticing the girl's visible anxiety. "The FBI believes you're an important part to the copycat case, isn't it?"
"So you do know about Will's case." She realized.
"Are you familiar with Agent Graham, Ms.Mallory?" He asked intrigued.
"Uhum." She nodded "we're long term friends."
"And he is helping you...with your sister's case, I suppose."
"Yes." She gave him a short answer. "Are you Will's colleague at work or..."
"I'm his therapist, or, better, someone he share his thoughts with."
"Oh." Alice blinked twice thinking. Will didn't tell her that. "Is he...alright?"
"I can't speak about my patients, Ms.Mallory." he spoke sharply, her cheeks blushed.
"Of course!" She said embarrassed, shaking her hands in the air "Don't get me wrong, I don't want to know about it, and neither should, I totally respect that!" She added as a pile of nerves "I just wanted to ask if he's doing okay."
Hannibal observed that woman's speech with attention, noticing each little flaw on her behavior. Alice's mannerism was a bit energetic, her expressions sort of funny.
"I thought as a friend you would know that already." Hannibal suggested, trying to catch any clue of what happened between her and Will.
"Right..." She gave a half awkward smile "Let's just say that...he keep things to himself very often... that's Will."
"Really is." Hannibal agreed.
A pause was made, she tried to avoid his angel eyes that sinked into her figure, trying to solve the puzzle she was. "Anyway" he adjusted himself on the seat. "Shall we begin? Why don't you introduce yourself, Ms.Mallory?"
Introducing herself twice in that day, Alice attempted not be intimidated by his staring. "Um...I'm 31, also live in Baltimore, but you already know that." She faked a smile "I work with food delivery-"
"What type of food?" He asked suddenly interested, surprising her.
"Chinese." She replied, still a bit impressed by his interest "you know that little restaurant, the red one, called Orient Sun, down the 5th street?"
"The one with cracks on the walls and a screaming old man?" He lifted one of his eyebrows, already disappointed.
"Exactly!" She snapped her fingers with enthusiasm "Have you ever went there?"
"I passed by once, I believe. I don't usually eat outside." He'd rather say that than to say that he was disgusted at the place, it smelled like mold. "I usually cook for myself."
"Same with me, I have to cook for Colin." She nodded, but couldn't help but think that a man who seemed so elegant didn't had a chef to cook for him, maybe he said that just to be nice.
"Who is Colin?"
"My younger brother." She replied wiyhoyt hesitation.
"How old is he?" He continued the subject, noticing how comfort she was with it.
"17." She smiled, talking about Colin always made her feel like a proud mom. "Can't believe that he's soon going to college and I'll be..." the words failed her, she stared blankly at a wall.
"...Alone." Hannibal completed the sentence, when she looked back at him, the smile on her face had disappeared.
"Yeah...that." she tried not to show her sadness. "It's still weird to think about it." She tilted her head to the side.
"It is a perfectly normal step on a human's life." Hannibal dig deeper in her wounds. "Why is it 'weird' for you?"
"Um...because I kinda expected to have Bree around when this happened. At least for a few years when Colin started college." She commented. "I knew she would find someone eventually and move out too but..." Alice gave a bittersweet smile. "Life doesn't work the way we want, isn't it?"
"No, it doesn't." Hannibal agreed calmly. "But we can still manage to pursue our journey,s, even if they doesn't please us at first."
"That's easier to said than done." She sniffed in a sour manner. "I mean, I know how to deal with life I've done that before. But nothing like this." She meant her sister's death, but just talking about it hurt.
"How have you done that in your life before, Ms.Mallory?" Hannibal questioned.
Alice hesited, just as Alana mentioned to the doctor, she wouldn't open up so easily, he needed better persuasion and persistence to do so. "Just...stuff, that happened, helping my siblings and etc." She omitted, her voice altering im some pitch as she lied.
"I understand" he nodded, aware of what she was doing.
Alice noticed his lack of appointments or taking notes. "Aren't you going to write anything down?"
"Our conversation is being recorded, privately, of course, but I prefer to listen to my patients." He explained carefully, Alice listened attentive, he knew that writting down would only frighten and distract her even more. "Would you prefer for me to write anything that deserves attention?"
"Oh, no, no need." She smiled politely "just asking because Dr.Bloom was doing that and..." her eyes landed at the sofa by her right. A figure was sitting on it, staring at her, smiling creepily, knowing its' presence drived her insane.
Hannibal noticedl she was distracted, following her empty gaze. He already knew something was wrong. "What do you see, Ms.Mallory?" His voice was serene as a smooth spring breeze. At those words, Alice turned around fastly, confused. "Is it a person, perphaps?"
"How...." she muttered.
"He's a doctor silly, he knows stuff." Bree chuckled brightly, lying down at the sofa, dramatically pretending to be a patient. "By the way, what will we have for dinner?"
Alice tried to ignore but the vision was so clear, so alive, it was almost impossible to unsee it. She could almost touch it, materialize it to reality. "Is it your sister, Ms.Mallory?" Hannibal's voice echoed.
Alice's sapphire eyes helplessly met his dark ones, she could feel her throat close a d shift inside, attempting to hide the madness as the figure standed there, talking to her, breaking into the shell of the human being she was now.
Alice nodded with her head to him, pursing her lips, furrowing her eyebrows while looking down, attempting not to cry, she knew that crying never solved her problems so she always refused to do it.
"What is she doing?" Hannibal didn't give the patient a break.
"She just... comments...makes jokes" she lifted her shoulders confused, also surprised yo admit it out loud "It's like..."
"Like she is here and alive." he completed her sentence once again.
Alice muttered something about agreeing with him, but her voice was very shallow, half cut to say anything properly.
"I can help you, Ms.Mallory" Hannibal spoke with a confident posture, but also calmly, paced, trying not to scare her, smoothly sabotaging her ears. "But you'll have to trust me, and by that, it means no more secrets..." He explained, almost lecturing, giving her instructions. "You will tell me everything from now on, do you understand?"
Alice hesited, but could still listen to Bree speaking on the other sofa, feel a light that blinked in fromt of her nonstop, on and off over and over again while he spoke hipnotically in front of her eyes. She didn't trust that stranger, and felt sonething slightly different about his posture, which didn't mean it was good.
"Does that mean you'll help me find out who killed my sister?" She asked, and at this point, Alice could listen to Bree just by her ear, whispering indecipherable words with a cold, ominous breath.
One thing you must know about Hannibal Lecter is that he considers himself a very generous person. A superior being that is always one step ahead. But his charity always comes with a price. Manipulating Alice by lightning therapy devices without her knowledge and freeing her from the demons surrounding her, would guarantee him one bonus card, a way to get into Will Graham's mind and understand him completely, feed his apetite for his obsession."Of course." He replied in a warm tone. "Do we have an agreement, Ms.Mallory?" He questioned, aware that Alice had no other choice now.
She took a deep breath, trying to focus on the present moment and her goal. She needed to be strong, that is what she has always been and that's what she still needed to be. For Bree and Colin. The lightning blinked nonstop. "Yes" she nodded, and at that moment, a single tear broke away, he watched it fall slowly, delicately through her cheek, almost a crystal that slided through her pale skin.
It was beautiful.
Hannibal Lecter got up from his seat and, smoothly, took off the handkerchieff from the pocket of his dark suit, delivering gently on her hands. "Thank you" she said holding back the urge to cry and assume again the bright posture. He turned off the lightning device and sge didn't even notive the mainpulation method. "I'm gonna clean and return it, I promise" she chuckled.
Alice Mallory was an useful and yet interesting pawn at his chess game for now. "Don't worry..." Hannibal gave a polite smile, but one tgat could actually give anyone goosebumps across their spine "I'm at your service."
