Simeon was now making his way through Route 1 with Cookie by his side as they were traveling to Pallet Town to meet up with Professor Oak.

"It looks like Pallet Town is just up ahead," Simeon said studying the map he was given.

"Lilipup," Cookie cried out excitedly.

"What up?" Simeon asked glancing at Cookie.

"Lil, pup!" Cookie cried out as she ran over to a sign that read Pallet Town just five miles away.

"We're almost there I see," Simeon smiled as he put away his map realizing he didn't need it anymore since they were almost to Pallet Town.

Simeon and Cookie arrived finally at Pallet Town and walked up a hill toward a large building that was identified as Professor Oak's lab on the map.

"It's just up ahead Cookie," Simeon said as they were almost up the hill.

"Lilipup!"

Once they made it to the top of the hill they saw a large crowd of cheerleaders gathered around waiting for someone.

"Excuse me," He said kindly as he made his way through the crowd of girls and up the stairs, and entered the lab.

"Hello, Professor Oak you here?" Simeon asked.

"Who exactly are you?" A voice asked.

Simeon then noticed a boy around his age with spiky brown hair and brown eyes wearing a long-sleeve purple short, dark grey pants, a yin, and yang necklace, and brown boots with black straps walking towards him holding a Pokeball.

"Ah, you must be Simeon Mayflower," Professor Oak said as he walked out of the back room.

"You know this boy gramps?" The brown hair boy asked.

"Yes Gary this is Simeon from the Unova Region," Professor Oak said."My friend Professor Juniper told me you were coming so follow me and I get your Pokedex updated on information on the Kanto Pokemon and your Pokeball, so you and your little friend and get your journey started."

"Name Gary Oak, and I let you know I'm the best trainer here in Pallet," Gary stated.

"I guess we see how true that is next time we meet," Simeon commented as he followed Professor Oak with Cookie on his side.

Simeon was now standing in front of a large room where three Pokeballs were sitting on a table. He patiently waited as Professor Oak hooked his Pokedex up to a computer.

"Alright, here you go Simeon your Pokedex now has information on the Kanto Pokemon," Professor Oak said giving the Pokedex back to Simeon.

"Thank you, Professor," Simeon said taking the Pokedex back.

"Now here are at least ten Pokeballs to catch Pokemon, and remember you can only carry up to six Pokemon," Professor Oak said holding out ten Pokeballs."Any other Pokemon you catch will be sent to my lab since Professor Juniper asked if I would take care of them while you're in Kanto," He explained.

"Thank you for that Professor," Simeon said putting the Pokeballs in his bag side pocket along with his Pokedex.

"It's no problem there is pretty of space for your Pokemon and the new trainers who are starting today as well," Professor Oak said."If you need more Pokeballs you will need to buy them from the Pokemart."

"Understand, let's go Cookie," Simeon said.

"Lilipup," Cookie said as she happily followed Simeon out of the back room.

As they left they nearly bumped into a raven-haired boy wearing green pajamas as he saw Gary taking off in a red car with the cheerleaders.

"You should pay more attention to where you standing," Simeon commented going around the boy.

"Huh? Who are you and what Pokemon is that?" The boy asked.

"Ah, Ash you finally showed up," Professor Oak said from behind Simeon."This is Simeon and his starter Pokemon Lilipup there from the Unova Region."

"A Lilipup?" Ash questioned.

"That right now if you excuse me I have to go can't become a strong trainer chatting all day can I," Simeon said walking away from Ash.

"Hey we should battle I show you who the best trainer is," Ash shouted.

"No thanks but we can battle next time we meet pajama boy," Simeon called back as he headed towards Route 1 to make his way back to Viridian City.

Simeon was now walking through Route  1 with Cookie by his side as they made it their way back to Viridian City.

"Lilipup!" Cookie cried out as she ran over to a rustling bush, catching Simeon's attention.

"What's up?" Simeon asked following her toward the bush.

The bush made a rustling sound for a few minutes, before a small quadrupled rodent Pokemon stepped out of the bush. It has green fur with a cream color ace, paws, and underbelly. It has narrow eyes containing a white sclera and pupils with purple irises, rounded ears with cream-colored insides, and single-long whiskers on each cheek. Its long tail is slightly curled at the end. However, the most notable feature was its large teeth.

"Awesome let's take a look," Simeon said pointing to his Pokedex at the Pokemon.

[Rattata, The Mouse Pokemon. A normal type. They will chew on anything with it's fangs. If you see one, it is inevitable that 40 more live in the area. They live wherever food is available it ceaselessly scavenge for edibles the entire day. The coloration of this Rattata indicates it a shiny.]

"Alright, the first normal type to add to the team," Simeon said putting away his Pokedex." Cookie let's start with Tackle!"He commanded.

"Lilipup!" Cookie cried out as she ran forward and slammed into Rattata knocking it back.

"Ratt," Rattata cried out shaking his head as he recovered. It then charged at Cookie with his tackle.

"Cookie counter with Ice Fang!"

"Lilipup!" Cookie cried out as it collided with Rattata sending them both sliding back, but Lilipup stood her ground as she recovered as the Rattata collapsed from the collision.

"Pokeball go!" Simeon said pulling out a Pokeball and throwing it at the knocked-out Rattata and a red light sucked it inside.

The Pokeball shook three and clicked signaling that it was captured.

"We did it we caught our first Pokemon friend, "Simeon cheered happily as Cookie retrieved the Pokeball and gave it to Simeon.

He then strapped the Pokeball to his belt smiling happily about his newly obtained Pokemon bringing him one step closer to becoming a normal type master.

"Let's go and let's see what another normal-type Pokemon we can find on the road back to Viridian City," Simeon said.

"Lilipup!" Cookie cried out in agreement as she followed after Simeon.
