It was a beautiful sunny morning in Nuvema Town located here in the Unova Region. This town was the home of the lab of Professor Juniper the regional Pokemon professor of the Unova Region. However other than Professor Juniper's lab, the number one attraction was the Pokemon care center, where trainers come to get their Pokemon exam since there is no Pokemon center but also a place for abandoned Pokemon to be cared for and you find a chance to get a new trainer.

A few feet toward the left of the Pokemon care center was a large blue house with a red roof it belonged to none other than the owner of the care center and her family. Located upstairs in the house inside of a large bedroom with navy blue walls and UFOs painted on it. A small brown little puppy was sleeping on a pink bed that had curtains on the side of it which was located near the left wall close to a poster of the legendary Pokemon Zekrom.

Meanwhile, a young boy with salmon-pink hair was seen sleeping comfortably in a teen-size bed with silky green blankets with the three Unova starter Pokemon covering his body and head against a Pokeball pillow breathing softly. This boy was known as Simeon Mayflower, the son of Laim Mayflower and Samantha Mayflower.

A black clock with an Eevee sitting on the top is located on the red nightstand to the left the the bed Simeon was sleeping started going off loudly as it played an Eevee cry. Simeon turned on his side and yawned as he slammed it off and groaned causing puppy Pokemon to yelp with a start.

"Lili..?" The small puppy Pokemon questioned.

Lilipup yawned and looked around the dark room as the curtains were shut closed, before glancing at her young trainer in the bed pulling the blankets over his face.

"Lililpup!" She cried out loudly hoping on the bed and licked her trainer's face.

"Ah, stop it Cookie," Simeon groaned lifting his best friend off his face," I told you multiple times not to do that."

"Lili," Cookie said waging her tail happily.

"Alright I'm up just get off me," He said petting Lilipup's head.

"Simey! Come on downstairs breakfast is ready!" Simeon's mother called out from downstairs.

"Coming!" He called back getting out of bed as Cookie got off the bed.

Simeon and Cookie ran towards the bedroom. As they left the room they went passed a poster of Eevee another poster of the Pidove evolution line, and a picture of a five-year-old Simeon and Cookie when they first became best friends and partners. The final picture was a family picture of Simeon his parents and his older brother Cheren.

Simeon and Cookie walked through the hallway passing the front door and entering the kitchen where he saw his mom placing a pitcher of juice on a large rectangle of the red table as Simeon sat down in a chair and Cookie on the ground next to the chair.

"Morning Mom," Simeon greeted.

His mom was wearing a black and white dress with black shorts and black boots. She then placed a large plate of pancakes with whipped cream, berries, eggs, and vegan bacon on the table.

"I made your favorite birthday boy," Samantha smiled at her son."Here you go Cookie," She said placing a pink bowl of Pokemon food in front of Cookie.

"Where is dad and big brother Cheren?" He asked.

"Your father outside with his Pokemon and Cheren went over to his friends Hilda and Hilbert's house," She replied.

"Oh."

Samantha then walked over to the sliding door and opened it and stood on the deck.

"Laim, breakfast is ready, and are special boy up don't forget it's his birthday!"

She looked to see a young man in his late 20s sitting by a flower bed. It was her husband Laim, a highly skilled Pokemon trainer and winner of the Unova league back when he was fifteen and was preparing to challenge the Elite Four to battle for the champion title. Along with him are two Pokemon one was in the tree with a bandage wing and the other was releasing aroma. They were Mandibuzz and Sawsbuck.

Sawsbuck was Laim's first captured Pokemon while his first Pokemon was a Snivy. Mandibuzz was a new addition, she was saved from Pokemon hunters and Sawsbuck was helping calm her down as Laim climbed up the tree to change her bandage.

"Liam!"

Liam turned to see Samantha on the deck.

"Come on in. It's breakfast time, and don't forget we have plans for the birthday boy."

"I haven't forgotten and coming" Laim called back.

As Laim finished channeling the bandage on Mandibuzz's wing he climbed down the tree and nodded bye to her as he headed on back inside the house with Sawsbuck. He made a quick stop at the bathroom to wash his hands before joining Samantha and Simeon for breakfast. They enjoy their meal along with the Pokemon in peace talking about today's plans.

When they were done eating breakfast Samantha left the house to check in at the Pokemon in the care center as Laim was back at the house finding up baking the cake for Simeon's birthday celebration.

Simeon was in the living room with his older brother, Hilbert, and Hilda unfortunately Simeon's best friend wasn't able to come over to celebrate.

"This looks awesome bro," Simeon said as he opened a box wrapped in black paper with a black and white hat.

"Glad you like it brought it during that special sale for last year's Unova league and decided to take it as a gift," Cheren said.

"Me and my brother Hilbert got you something as well," Hilda said as she and Hilbert walked over to Simeon holding a small white box.

"Let's see," Simeon said opening it and seeing it was a light blue Xtransceiver."This is a wonderful gift Thank you two."

"Glad you like it you can call anytime on your journey us since we program it with our number," Hilbert said.

"That's nice to know," Simeon said trying on the Xtransceiver.

He then finally picked up the box in red wrapping which had a new black and blue jacket, a black short-sleeved shirt, and light blue cargo pants a present from his parents. There was also a backpack with a Lilipup on it.

"Lilipup!" Cookie cried out happily at the backpack.

"Happy birthday son," Laim said bringing in a cake with blue icing on it.

"Yes happy birthday son," Samantha said as she arrived back at the house."I have one more present for you, but we save it for after the cake," She said.

Simeon nodded as he blew out the cake before his father cut everyone a piece of cake.

"So Simey now that you're ten years old have you decided on your plan for your first journey?" Samatha asked.

"I have been thinking about it and I decided to start my journey in Kanto," Simeon said."I know it is far from home but I believe that going to a different region will help me to find not only new normal-type Pokemon to catch but also grow as a future gym leader. I will challenge the gyms and enter the Indigo League and grow strong with Cookie and the Pokemon I catch to achieve my dream."

"If that's what you want to do then go for it Simey," Samatha smiled.

Liam nodded in agreement. Samantha then left the room before she gave back an egg with brown and white spots all over it in an incubator.

"This is for you it was left at my center by one of the staff members who found it all alone in the woods," Samantha said heading it to Simeon."I believe that you will enjoy what is inside of it recognize that pattern of course but I won't ruin the surprise."

Simeon nodded and looked at his egg with a warm smile knowing this would be his egg mostly likely containing an awesome new normal type to add to his team.

The following morning Simeon after eating breakfast was now at the airport with his mother, father, and older brother.

"Simeon, Kanto is a far place from home, but I know that you will do great on your own," Samantha said with a smile.

"Yeah little bro you do great getting those badges Remember to call if you ever need advice," Cheren said ruffling his little brother's hair.

"You know I will big bro," Simeon said giving Cheren a thumbs up as he held the egg incubator in his other hand.

"That my boy you grow a lot from the shy boy who was afraid of Pokemon at first," Liam said with a chuckle."No, here you go off on your first journey are two final items that will come in handy," He said pulling out two items from his pocket."A map of Kanto and a Pokedex from Professor Juniper she said to see  Professor Oak in Pallet Town to have it programmed with information on the Pokemon in Kanto he will also give you Pokeballs."

"I will do that take care love you guys," Simeon said waving bye to his family as he and Cookie headed into the airport to set off to the Kanto Region to start his first Pokemon journey. Where he will see new places, new Pokemon, and new faces along the way.
