The following morning  Timothy was woken up by Mina nuzzling against his face. He yawned and stretched his arms before leaning over and stroking behind Mina's ear.

"Ah, good morning, Mina," Timothy said softly as he smiled at Mina.

"Pikachu!" Mina cried out happily as her trainer stroked behind her ear.

"Alright, I better start getting ready," Timothy said, sitting up in bed."You can sleep a little bit longer until I'm done showering," Timothy said grabbing a fresh pair of clothes out his his backpack before heading towards the bathroom to get ready for him and Kristina to continue their journey to Moonfall City. 

"Pi!" Mina cried out as she curled back on up, getting comfortable once again in bed until her trainer was ready to go.

Timothy walked out of the bathroom, fully dressed as he heard a knock on the door.

"Timbo, you awake?" Kristina asked from the other side of the door.

"Yeah, I just finished washing up, and Mina will meet you in the cafeteria for breakfast soon. I'm just checking my back," Timothy replied. 

"Alright, see you when you're done," Kristina said.

Timothy and Mina arrived in the cafeteria where he spotted Kristina sitting at a table eating a bowl of oatmeal mixed with orange berries. Along with her two pokemon eating pokemon food with berries.

"Good morning," Timothy greeted as Mina jumped down his shoulder joining Rosemary and Moon and chatting with them."I will be back with breakfast, but first, come out Aqua!" He said sending out his Amoxan Vulpix.

"Vul!" Aqua cried out happily nuzzling Mina.

"Now to get both of you breakfast, " Timothy said walking over towards the counter and grabbing two white bowls of pokemon food and a plate from the stack next to the juice machine.

'I think I go with waffles and eggs for breakfast.' Timothy thought as he lifted a silver lid off the platter that revealed some waffles.

Timothy got himself two waffles along with eggs before filling up the Pokemon food bowls with pokemon food with Oran berries at the top and a few Peacha berries added to the mix.

Timothy walked over towards the table carrying a tray with his plate and the two bowls and placed them on the table across from Kristina, before over towards Mina and Aqua over near Rosemary and Kristina's Cosbit.

"Eat up Mina and Aqua," Timothy said placing the bowls in front of his two pokemon and going back to his seat and sitting down to eat his breakfast."So Kris what is Cosbit's nickname?" He asked. 

"Well was thinking Luna, but given my pokedex says it's a male so going with the nickname moon," Kristina replied.

"Really if I recall from my mother the male evolution is different from the female so is its appearance of course," Timothy commented.

"True I think it's become of a Psychic/ fighting type," Kristina said looking over at Cosbit sitting next to Rosemary.

Timothy nodded as he took a sip of his pink and berry juice that was imported to the Amoxa Region from the Orange Islands, and grown in the famous orchard that was not far from his hometown. 

"So once it evolved wouldn't have been much of your type," Kristina said. 

Timothy nodded."Yeah  though my father suggests I should watch other types to have a balance and coverage, but not to stop training to be a master of normal types." 

"That makes sense it and luckily there are dual types like Aqua which is water/normal but couldn't hurt to have other types on hand on the journey but the future gym of yours focuses on Normal types of course," Kristina commented. 

Timothy and Kristina then continued the rest of the breakfast in silence until they were done eating both returned their pokemon except for Mina who jumped onto Timothy's shoulder as they left the Pokemon Center to get back on the road to Moonfall City.

Timothy and Kristina were walking along the pathway surrounded by trees and grass that was gently swaying from the gentle breeze of the wind as Timothy examined his map.

"It seems we still have a journey ahead until he off reach Moonfall City," Timothy stated.

"Really how much longer is this Route?" Kristina asked glancing over at her best friend. 

"Well it doesn't seem too long, but there is the Twisted forest we have to go through next," Timothy replied. 

"The twisted forest," Kristina said with a gulp."I heard that forest many trainers get lost for days because trouble maker Pokemon," She commented. 

"Hey, it will be fine as long as we stick together, besides we still have ways to go until the forest comes into view," Timothy said flashing a smile full of confidence at Kristina. 

Kristina was about to respond when a loud explosion was heard, causing them to turn towards the left only to see a large cloud coming from ahead.

"What was that?" Kristina asked confused.

"Pikachu!" Mina cried out.

"Let's check," Timothy said narrowing his eyes in thought at the smoke up ahead.

"Right."

Timothy, Kristina, and Mina then head on off to check out the source of the explosion.

Timothy, Kristina, and Mina then arrived in a clearing where they spotted near a beautiful lake was a small quadrupedal kitten-looking Pokemon with light green fur with cream coloring at the paws and ears. It has a red seed and a green vine-looking tail along with beautiful lavender color eyes.

"That Pokemon," Timothy said taking out his Pokedex and scanning the Pokemon drinking from the lake.

[Kitvine, The grass kitten Pokemon.  A Grass/Normal type pokemon.  It can dash short distances. Kitvine is quite skilled at hiding and sneaking up on its opponents. They might not seem like it but they are as loyal as a Growlithe. The seed on my forehead is known to sprout into a beautiful plant upon evolution.]

"Alright here's my chance to capture a new Pokemon," Timothy said putting away his pokedex."Mina uses Double Slap! He commanded.

"Kit!" Kitvine cried out as it shook its head and sent dark green leaves flying toward Mina.

"It used Razor Leaf," Kristina said. 

"Quick dodge it," Timothy ordered.

"Pika!" Mina cried out jumping back and dodging the incoming Razor Leaf attack.

Kitvine's Razor leaf attack ended direct contact with a small boulder and sent a piece of it flying straight off Mina.

"Mina no!" Timothy called out running towards Mina and ended up getting hit in the back and sending them both crashing into the lake. 

"Vine!" Kitvine cried out as two vines came from its neck grabbing Mina and running off carrying Mina its back with the vines 

"Wait!" Kristina called out attempting to chase after Kitvine, but immediately stopped and ran over and pulled Timothy out of the lake.

"Oh deal! Young lady everything okay?" A warm masculine voice asked. 

Kristina turned around to see a middle-aged man with fair skin, olive green eyes with short blue hair. He was wearing a green plaid jacket with a black shirt underneath and navy blue jeans along with green and black sneakers. 

"Come with me," He said leading Kristina toward a beautiful blue house not far from the lake with a beautiful garden."Set him down over there, " He said pointing towards a black couch.

"Alright," Kristina said placing Timothy carefully on the couch.

The man then walked away and then came back a few minutes later with a small brown container and twisted the lid off and carefully turned Timothy on his side lifting his shirt and rubbing the cream on his swelling back.

"Ugh," Timothy groaned as he slowly began to open his eyes. "Where am I? Where is my partner Mina?" He questioned sitting up and looking around for his partner. 

The man then took a seat on an armchair next to the couch."Well, it looks like the cream helps ease the pain enough for you to get up," He said.

"Huh?"

"My bad my name is Wilson," He said introducing him.

"Hello, I'm Timothy. It's a pleasure to meet you," Timothy said. 

"This is Wilson's house," Kristina said. 

"You don't need to worry Mina should be fine. Kitvine is a good Pokemon so your Amoxan Pikachu is bound to be safe," Wilson stated. 

"You know that Kitvine?" Kristina asked.

"Yeah me and Kitvine are great pals," Wilson said." I actually found Kitvine all alone injured and hungry and treated and fed it every since he has been coming here helping out around the house when needed." 

"If I was Kitvine I would do everything I could to repay the kindness of someone who treated and fed me," Kristina said. 

"Kitvine has ever been a bit overprotective of the other Pokemon-keeping trainers, but he can get carried away and end up harming young trainers."

"That kind but why would Kitvine take Mina?" Timothy asked. 

"I know I wasn't there, but I have to guess that Kitvine probably thought you would hurt Mina," Wilson said."I don't know what happened in the past but Kitvine doesn't seem trusting of trainers."

"I will be right back," Timothy said standing up."I'm going to find Kitvine and explain to him I mean no harm and get Mina back."

"Wait I come with you," Kristina said.

"If you wish to find Kitvine he is most likely in the field full of bushes and trees with tons of berries and fruit," Wilson stated. 

"Thanks," Timothy said as he and Kristina headed off to find Kitvine to get Mina back.

So here we have the sixth chapter of  The Challenges of Becoming a Normal type Master. Timothy and Kristina continue there journey to Moonfall City after spending a night at the Pokemon Center. However the adventure is cut short as they run into an wild Kitvine who takes off with Mina. Next chapter Timothy will attempt to get his partner Mina back from Kitvine.
