Rosette 'Rose' Forbes

A/N – Due to the timeline and The Vampire Diaries ending in 2019, I would push the Once Upon A Time plot to take place after that. So season 1 would be at least May 2021 rather than 2011. So it will occur +10 years in comparison to the show's timeline. However, it will still be 28 years for Storybrooke (so 1993 is when they arrived in 'our' world)

- Whilst 'our' world is considered to be the 'land without magic', it does in fact have magic, however, due to the curse, any magic within the boundary of Storybrooke becomes null and void until the curse is broken

........

Bio:

Rosette was born to Rumpelstiltskin and Farrah, the daughter of Zoso, the Dark One before Rumpelstiltskin in the Enchanted Forest. Unfortunately, Farrah died in childbirth and Rumpelstiltskin was left as the main caregiver for her. He returned with the child to his home where his first-born, Baelfire is living. Baelfire was instantly smitten with his new sister and came to care a great deal for her in the short time they had together.

Note: I can't find anything that states how long Rumple was the Dark One before Baelfire got the magic bean. I know Bae was almost fourteen when Rumple became the Dark One, due to the draft age for the Ogre War, but it could be anything from a few weeks to maybe, at most, two years before Baelfire leaves the Enchanted Forest. For the sake of giving Bae time with Rosette, I am leaning towards two to three years, and therefore Rosette will be old enough to remember some things about her original life.

Over the next two years, Rumpelstiltskin grows more powerful and intimidating as the Dark One, but also begins keeping Baelfire and Rosette at home from the outside world.

During this time, while Baelfire is drawing, Rumpelstiltskin returns home with a knife and gives it to him to use for sharpening his coal. And gives Rosette a stuffed bear. Upset, Baelfire knocks the knife and the bear off the table to the floor and proclaims he wants nothing his father gains from being the Dark One, not for him, not for Rosette. Rumpelstiltskin then asks his son what desires and Baelfire admits he desires freedom. His father misunderstands and thinks he desires to live in a castle, but Baelfire, in actuality, wants to be able to go out and have friends. Rumpelstiltskin forbids this as he worries it will be a way for his enemies to kidnap Baelfire and hold him captive. However, Baelfire wonders if his father's protectiveness is actually a fear his own son will leave and never come back. For a moment, Rumpelstiltskin looks surprised but quickly asserts his feelings are out of concern for Baelfire's safety and acknowledges it'd be an unthinkable thing to lose him.

One night, Baelfire is drawn into following the sound of the Pied Piper's musical flute to a bonfire. Once there, he befriends the Pied Piper of Hamelin, Peter Pan, and happily spends time with other boys his age. Pan wants to bring him back to his own world, Neverland, but plans to make a deal with Baelfire's father, Rumpelstiltskin. As a choice of free will, Pan tells Baelfire that Rumpelstiltskin must ask his own son whether he wishes to stay or leave for Neverland. In doing so, it will prove Rumpelstiltskin trusts and cares for his son. When Pan presents his arrangement to the Dark One, he refuses to comply and teleports Baelfire home with him. Out of parental concern for his son's safety, Rumpelstiltskin briefly talks about his relationship with Pan, which ended with him being betrayed by the latter. Despite that, Baelfire calls him out about the deal Pan offered. Had Rumpelstiltskin given him the choice, he declares it would have been to stay with his father. Bitterly, he contemplates the lost chance at being a family with him, though Rumpelstiltskin says they still can. Rejecting the notion, Baelfire storms out.

Later, Rumpelstiltskin ends the Ogre War and saves thousands of children's lives, but Baelfire wishes for things to return as they were before he became the Dark One. He is worried that magic will continue to corrupt his father and wants him to be rid of. Rumpelstiltskin shows his son the dagger and explains that can't happen unless someone were to kill him with it. However, he agrees to part with magic if Baelfire can find a way to make it possible without dying. While contemplating this, Baelfire's friend Morraine tells him about the Reul Ghorm she heard of during the war. He goes and finds the Reul Ghorm, which turns out to be the Blue Fairy. She gives him a magic bean so he, his sister and his father can go to a "land without magic". He rushes back home to show Rumpelstiltskin the bean and they head out to the woods with Rosette strapped to Baelfire's back.

After Baelfire opens a portal with it, Rumpelstiltskin backs out of their deal; unwilling to give up his powers. As they argue, Baelfire nearly slips into the portal, but his father grabs and tries to pull him back up by using the dagger as an anchor. He urges Rumpelstiltskin to come with him but, torn between magic and his children, Rumpelstiltskin makes a split decision to let go of his son's hand. Baelfire, and Rosette, fall into the portal as it closes.

Rosette and Baelfire were then separated during the portal journey and both landed in the same world but time apart, with Baelfire landing in Victorian England, and Rosette landing in Mystic Falls in the late 1980s.

Rosette was found crying in the woods by a couple of hikers who took her to the Sheriff's department in town. Initially, Rosette's care was taken up by Elizabeth Forbes, who hoped to reunite her with her family rather quickly and so didn't report the incident to CPS. When searches for her real family came up empty, Elizabeth opted to simply raise Rosette herself, having grown rather attached to the young child.

Personality:

"I always fantasized about having enough money to stock up on toilet paper."

At first glance, it can be thought that Rosette is cold and distant, but deep down she is just someone who wants to be loved.

Rosette also seems to have a history of pushing people away from her, which she acknowledges. While she is usually charming and calculating, she seems to have an underlying anger to her. Furthermore, she can be very rash and will sometimes make decisions that weren't hers to make in the first place. In the end though, she generally wants what's best for everyone and will let go of herself to achieve that goal.

"Well, Rose can be a little guarded."

"Yes, I know." - Elena and Caroline

Rosette is the most reliable of her family, a fact that has been acknowledged by almost all of the other members of the Forbes family. Rosette is almost always there for the people she cares about.

Rosette, like her adopted sister, Caroline, she struggles with unstable self-esteem.

Rosette also has a bad temper if she ever is provoked, although hers is not as bad as Rumpelstiltskin's.

She hides her more sensitive side underneath her tough, confident exterior; and it's difficult for her to ask for help.

The truth of Rosette's abandonment and adoption has left her with self-esteem and abandonment issues, leading her to make impulsive choices and fall for men who are sometimes bad news.

"Oh shit. That would've sucked!" - Rosette after she almost falls off her balcony

Rosette can also be emotionally fragile. She very much wants to be like a normal young woman. She is just a lonely woman who wants someone who actually cares about her. Although she is intelligent and calculating, Rosette is extremely reckless and impulsive.

"I'm not hungry, I'm fucking angry. Shot by your ex, drowned by Damon's. You two need a lesson in women"

Rosette has a potty mouth and likes to cuss. Liz and Caroline both state they have no idea where she even picked up that sort of language.

Rosette struggles to forge meaningful connections with other people and make friends, likely because she doesn't feel like she belongs in the world, and still has shattered and faded memories of her life in the Enchanted Forest.

Rosette is capable of convincingly portraying friendly and flirtatious, timid, vulnerable, and scared. For the most part, she is a level-headed, strong-willed, and independent young woman. Rosette normally maintains a controlled, almost emotionless persona to keep whatever she is thinking a secret unless she is around people she absolutely trusts. Although she is more than willing to rush into a deadly battle, she is not completely fearless.

Rosette is smart, possibly too smart for her own good, like Rumpelstiltskin. Rosette is also well-read, often quoting poetry and literature, she loves to read and always looks for new texts to indulge herself in. She also loves music.

Rosette has a major manipulative streak and will often take advantage of people to get what she wants, but that doesn't mean she doesn't feel bad to do so especially if it is someone she cares for.

She can be vain and somewhat narcissistic as she knows she is attractive and dislikes being in 'comfortable' clothing.

Rosette is not afraid to speak her mind and isn't afraid to break rules. She is able to stand up to stronger individuals for what she believes in and fights and argues to get the point across whenever necessary.

Rosette isn't afraid to speak her mind and shows quite a sharp tongue, especially during arguments.

Rosette has also shown on several occasions that she is an avid fan of television, specifically sitcoms from all eras, though vintage sitcoms seem to be her go-to television for cheering herself up. Notable shows that she has been seen watching include

- The Dick Van Dyke Show

- I love Lucy

- Bewitched

Physical Appearance:

"I gotta tell ya, every guy in this place - they want to eat you up" - Damon to Rosette

Physically, Rosette is a very beautiful and attractive young woman with an oval face, light olive complexion, almond-shaped green eyes, and long dark brown hair. Her height is 5'6"(168 cm), and she has a slim, slightly athletic physique.

Rosette often wears dresses, skirts, jeans, or leather trousers, with tank tops and vests, as well as, heeled ankle boots or heels. Her colour scheme is in red and black.

Rosette is noted to be "beautiful" or even a "stunner" by others.

Trivia:

Rosette kept her name after being found in Mystic Falls due to the baby blanket she was found with. This blanket was sewn with her name in the corner.

Rosette loves bubbles and bathtubs, stating that they make her feel fancy.

Rosette has a fondness and a weakness for red hots and loves spicy food in general.
