"Sir, can you hear me?" asked one of the nurses of St Mary's hospital.
"Where am I?" Ricardo inquired in a groggy voice as they moved down the corridor to the theatre. Just then he heard on an intercom request for a Dr Baker. Before he could utter another word he fell into a deep sleep.

Ricardo woke up to see Major Erikson at his side. His body ached all over and a wave of dizziness overtook him when he tried to sit up. Outside the swashing of the sea could be heard along with the chorus of sea gulls. A million questions were reeling in his mind.
"My, my so you finally decided to join us after that scare," the major said as he took a seat on one of the chairs by the window.
"Where am I?" Ricardo asked in a raspy voice as he tried to clear his throat.
Before the major could say a word a voice answered from the door, "You are at St Marys Hospital; Mr Andrews, and very, very blessed to be alive after what you went through," The doctor said in a silky voice as she came to his bedside. She offered him the water that was on the stand and asked him how he was that morning and reassured him that he would be well in a couple of days.
"Dr, how many days have I been in here?" he asked.
"Five days Mr Andrews, and since you are now awake I think it will be ok to move you to another room. Now let me leave you two gentlemen alone to catch up on the past few days." Dr Baker said as she left the room.

Ricardo looked up into the face of Major Erikson. He was a tall broad shouldered man with short black hair growing white at the ends. The man had grey eyes that never revealed anything unless necessary and Ricardo rarely saw the man ever smiling. All he knew about the major was that he had two daughters and a wife who he loved dearly.
Ricardo adjusted his bed into an upright position so as to allow him to see the major face to face.
"Tell me everything I need to know major,"
"Well it seems someone attacked your plane, resulting in you crash landing at sea, but luckily the local fisherman saw it go down and notified the coast guard who brought you here. You were in pretty bad shape when they brought you in here, especially your left leg as you can see. But one thing that baffles me is that your pilot and attendants cannot be found. Removal of your plane from the sea has already..."
Just then a loud beeping sound stopped the major in mid-sentence.
"Nurse! Nurse! "
Dr Baker came rushing in with a nurse behind her.
"We need to stabilize him immediately his blood pressure is falling, major I am going to have to ask you to leave, now" informed the doctor.

Ricardo woke up in a different room this time to meet the gaze of the tall, slim Dr with chestnut hair. She had light brown eyes to complement her hair, her mouth twisted into a smile after a few seconds.

Dr Juliet Baker was passionate about what she did for others and in a sense it helped her also. She had graduated with high honours as a medical practitioner. She was "happily" married to a vet, and they both shared a passion of helping the needy. She loved and enjoyed her job as a doctor even though she was as shy as a squirrel. She was not used to large crowds; probably this was due to the fact that she had grown up in a small town which had few people. Never in a life had she seen herself saving the life of a billionaire.
Ricardo cleared his throat and took a deep breath.
"Good day Dr or is it good evening? How long have I been asleep?"
"Two days Mr Andrews, you gave us quite a scare the last time you were awake, But I made sure that will not happen again."
"Well, I could not resist the urge of seeing your lovely face again, so I had to do something," he said in a whisper as he drifted off back to sleep.
As she looked at his sleeping face she saw that there was more to him that just the arrogant business man she had heard he was. She was mostly baffled by the remark he had made before drifting off to sleep. He seemed to be as subtle as a serpent and that sent a chill running through her body. She left his room as she had other patients to see.
