{48} - Adam

-~-~-

Adam had no trace of guilt on his face.

He was sitting at the station, his hands on his face in frustration. He hadn't slept and it was currently morning of a new day. It had taken him strength and time to get Darla there, well, even if it earned him some scratches to the face, he was just lucky that she didn't have anything sharp other than her nails. "So, we went to check your house out and well. . . You were right." Jason said as he sat next to him.

Adam sighed, "I'm just glad Ty's having his trial tomorrow, you know, so that he can leave this place immediately." Adam knew that Ty had been in jail for a while, nearly being taken to prison due to no one else being a runner-up to be a suspect.

"I agree. . . I'm glad you spoke up, since I knew Ty wouldn't be capable of murdering someone cold heartedly." Jason said, his eyes fixed on Adam's hazel ones.

"Well, this should give him more of an advantage then if that's the case. I wonder what Darla's lawyer will have in mind to defend her." Adam grumbled while rolling his eyes. Darla's family lawyer covered them all, even Darla, but he was a serious and hardworking man, defending any case. Adam wondered what tricks he would have up his sleeve for this particular situation.

"But Ty has something on his side that matters more than her lawyer's persuasive skills, he has witnesses that are on his side." Jason reassured. "I've been to a lot of trials and that seems to be the main key. Without witnesses or evidence to support, you basically have nothing."

"I guess so. I hope that's the case then, because if not, Ty could have immediate, terrible consequences." Adam scowled, hoping that the Judge wouldn't bear too much stupidity.

"Let's not think of that, you're making me uneasy." Jason laughed slightly, his stomach whirling in worry.

"Agreed. . ." Adam murmured.

"Hey. . . Do you want to speak to Darla?" Jason asked uneasily.

Adam's eyes widened, "Why would I want to do that?"

"Well, don't you want to know why she killed Quentin?" Jason asked.

"I'm telling you, she already told me. And I don't want to go into this topic, I heard about what happened to Rob. . ." Adam sighed. His fellow friend was killed, although there was a rumor that he helped Jerome, a recent prisoner, escape prison. But Adam couldn't help but still feel bad.

"Yeah I did too, but think about it, you are the only thing she trusts-"

"Trust-ED." Adam corrected.

"Whatever, but think about it, she hasn't talked to anyone in a while-"

"Actually. . . Now that I think about it. . . Mitch was there with me when Darla confessed. Maybe he can help out?" Adam suggested. "I mean, he did get her to calm down. . . Maybe if he gives it a shot."

"But Adam he's a witness, nothing special to her. On the other hand. . ."

"Alright alright fine, whatever. I guess I have to go and speak to her?" Adam asked. Jason nodded emotionlessly, making Adam sigh. He walked over to where there were many tables, while others had decided to visit their loved ones. He sat at a table, waiting and hoping that it wouldn't go too terribly. Once two police men came out, they escorted Darla. She looked at him with a gaze full of hatred.

Adam let out a sigh,

"Here goes nothing. . ."

-Author's Note-

For those who are confused like: 'Wait, prison and jail? Aren't they like the same thing?'

Nope, jail is where you're taken before you get your court case done, and if proven guilty, you're taken to prison, and THAT'S the real deal.

You learn something new everyday look at that ^^

Sorry if this was rather short, I just have school tomorrow ^^;
