{34} - Lachlan

-~-~-

"Lachlan you idiot. . ."

That was the first thing Lachlan heard as he slowly opened his eyes, the light of a lamp nearby nearly blinding his vision. He groaned and tried placing one of his arms over his face, just to meet with a burning sensation, making him grit his teeth. "Fuck! My arm!"

"Then don't move it!" A familiar female voice hissed, which caught his attention. Of course, it was Carla. Feeling embarrassed, Lachlan tried to move away, but the burning sensation was still there, making him tense.

"Why does it hurt so much?" Lachlan cursed out loud, making Carla huff.

"Well maybe if you weren't such a. . . Such a. . ." Carla sighed as she shook her head in disapproval.

Suddenly remembering what had happened before, Lachlan frowned, "W-What did I do?"

"I don't know, you tell me." Carla retorted, although her face was both focused and sick with worry.

"I don't. . . Recall." Lachlan mumbled with uncertainty.

Carla just pursed her lips and she shook her head, "W-Whatever. I hope you figure it out some time, just, relax for now."

Lachlan could tell Carla was trying hard not to break down and yell at him for whatever he might have done, but it was obvious that she didn't have the guts or energy to do so. He bit his lip as he looked at his now bandaged arms, and he raised an eyebrow at her, "Just this?"

"We would have gone to the hospital, but you are too heavy for me, and I also don't want to cause a ruckus. By the way, guess what I found in your arms." Carla said as she pulled up a container and she shoved it into his hands.

Confused, Lachlan looked into the container and he raised his eyebrows, ". . . Glass?"

"Yep, small shards of clear glass." Carla explained as she narrowed her eyes at him.

"Was it from a bottle. . . ?"

"Nope, I checked the house and the trash but I saw nothing related to broken glass." Carla said, crossing her arms. "You've also got bite marks. Bite marks Lachlan. There's obviously some crazy shit going on."

"I. . . I have no idea. . ." Lachlan stuttered as he looked at his white bandages.

". . . Whatever. I at least managed to get the smallest of fragments. You're lucky I even noticed." Carla huffed, walking away from him.

"Well, thanks. . ." Lachlan muttered.

Carla said nothing, and once again, Lachlan was alone. He looked around the living room, relaxing as his back pressed against the couch he was sitting on. The room wasn't as messy as it was before. There were no bottles on the floor, which left Lachlan wondering why Carla has not questioned his intentions or the amount of cans that were previously hanging around. Suddenly, he felt as if something was wrong. Well, he knew that he did hurt himself, which is wrong, but there was another thought he had in mind. What exactly did happen? It still puzzled him, and he knew better than to just ignore it. So, he got up, ignoring the calls of pain coming from his arm, and he stifly walked over to his room.

In the room, something buzzed immedietaly, making him freeze in his tracks. On his bed was his phone, and Lachlan arched an eyebrow at it once he read who was calling him. It was Rose. He stared at his phone for a few seconds, wondering why she of all people would be calling him. But, Lachlan didn't want to seem rude, and so he hesitantly picked the phone up, and he answered with, ". . . Rose?"

"Lachy! Hi, I heard about what happened from Carla, what did you do?" She asked immediately, making Lachlan confused. She told her?

"Um, she. . . Told you?"

"Of course! I'm always there for her, and if she needs a shoulder to cry on, then she can just call me! I guess today was one of those days." Rose explained.

"Right. . ." Lachlan muttered, remembering that her and Carla were indeed best friends.

"Oh well, you don't have to tell me what happened, I guess I'll just have to keep on guessing." Rose sighed. Lachlan didn't say anything, though. He just kept his mouth shut. "By the way, Lachlan. . ."

"What is it?" Lachlan asked, his back leaning against his door frame in impatience.

On the other end of the line, Rose smirked and replied,

"Thanks for doing all the dirty work for me."
