{25} - Rose
-~-~-
Rose was at a loss for words.
Not that she was that surprised anyway. She mentally predicted that Jerome would be stupid enough to ditch jail and run to Emily, but she could guess that it was too late for him to run to his now ex-girlfriend, wasn't it? Without a sign of nervousness, she slowly walked up to Jerome and licked her thumb, dabbing on some blood that was trickling down his cheek gently, "You have a little something on your cheek. . ."
Jerome smirked and looked away, "Just as charming as ever, aren't you, Rose?"
Rose flashed them both a pearly white smile, "Why wouldn't I be? You should know me better than I know myself."
"Really? I guess we do, now that we practically know about most of the, 'personal stuff". Like, oh I don't know, you and Preston?" Rob pointed out sarcastically.
Rose narrowed her eyes at him, her light blue eyes dulling, "What did you see?"
"No, the REAL question is, what DIDN'T we see?" Jerome asked triumphantly.
Laughing, Rose stared at them for merely a few seconds, until she murmured, "Well, I know what I'm seeing right now. A criminal, well, two now, outside of their containment breach, empty handed, yet privileged enough to be guaranteed freedom that will most likely last for only a short while. . ."
Jerome's grin faded as he looked down at her, "You wouldn't dare say anything."
"I would." Rose retorted, her face emotionless yet calm.
"Really? Well, we aren't afraid to talk to our good friend Mitchy then, because I don't think he'll be happy to hear you running around town doing your deeds, now, would he? He has the power to drive you out into the streets, and you wouldn't want that, now would you?" Rob asked as he arched an eyebrow.
"So? It's not like he doesn't know this already." Rose noted as she folded her arms.
"Well, I'm pretty sure he doesn't know you're with Preston, though." Jerome cooed sarcastically, making Rose backtrack what she was about to say.
"You wouldn't." Rose muttered. She didn't want to give herself away, but, Preston was secretly more to her than just a tool, yet, no one knew that.
"Oh yes we would." Rob whispered, lifting her chin up so that he could see her bright blue eyes, just as the sun started to set.
Rose sighed and bit her cheek as she pulled away from his hand, readjusting herself, "So, you want a place to stay, is what you're asking?"
Jerome smirked and he patted her head, "Good girl."
She scoffed and frowned, "Follow me, I was heading home."
"We'll just stick to the shadows. We don't want a resident to snitch on us, now do we?" Rob said as he and Jerome started heading towards the trees, which made their figures darker.
Rose turned around once more and walked down the sidewalk, confused as to why she had agreed to these two imbeciles. She turned over to them, realizing that her and Mitch lived under the same roof, and she exclaimed, "Oh, and one more thing!
"Don't let Mitch know you're there."
