Your Savior

━━━━━━━━

IT FELT ODD BEING ON A SHIP. Melody's eyes wandered around as she gazed at it. The waves were peaceful as they sailed. But alas, things wouldn't be calm for long. Things were definitely getting crazy and Melody couldn't help but think that this was along supposed to happen. It was all planned.

"So...your my aunt uh?" someone said, startling the teen from her thoughts.

Melody turned to see Neal and she gave him a smile.

"Guess I am."

"You know, the first time I heard of you was when I was taken by Pan."

That name sent her stomach sinking down. So that's the "teenager" Neal was talking about earlier. It made sense if you connected the dots. She and Rumple had a doll they were given by Malcolm and then they named it "Peter Pan". Then their father regained his youth after abandoning them. It would only make sense that he used that name as a reminder of them or a reminder of something.

Melody decided to play along, pretending like she didn't know who "Pan" was. She wanted to know what he was like. If she was like him.

"Why is it that I keep hearing about this 'Pan'. Hook had mentioned him before, said I act like him."

Neal looked thoughtful and smiled a bit.

"In a way you do, but you're nowhere near like him. He's evil. I'm not too sure there's even a word in the dictionary that comes close enough to describe him, really. He kills and tortures people for fun. The kinds of games him and his lost boys play are nothing like the movies," he told her.

"Then how am I like him?"

Neal sighed. "Well for starters, you just look like him. Your hair color is really similar to his, and your face structure is similar. As for your personality, well, you definitely have compassion unlike him, but when you glare, it's an 'if looks could kill' sort of thing. It makes people go running for the hills. But then Pan was really cocky, especially when it came to games and you seem like you're the competitive type."

Melody shrugs, a light smile playing on her lips. "I kinda am."

"We're here!" Neal yelled so Emma could hear from below deck.

Melody turned from him and watched as they neared StoryBrooke. Thinking how her father was now a teenager and played vicious games that risked his life, seemed odd to her. Malcolm had always said things like "cost of the game". But he never seemed like the reckless type, not in Melody's eyes.

What bothered the brunette is that she found herself longing to go to Neverland. To see it again.

To see her father again.

StoryBrooke

She wasn't even standing on the cement for two seconds before she was engulfed in a hug by a familiar female. Melody smiled and laughed.

"Nice to see you too Ruby."

The wolf pulled back and smiled.

"I'm glad you're ok."

"I am too."

The two laughed and Mary Margaret and David came over and hugged the teen after hugging Emma.

"Are you guys ok?" Mary Margaret questioned.

Emma nodded. "We're ok."

"Uh, I drove a ship," Henry told David, smiling.

"Did you now?" David said.

"Yeah, my dad showed me how."

"That's...me," Neal spoke up, pointing to himself.

David went and helped Neal get Gold and set him in the back of the truck.

"Is Cora trying to control you with the dagger?" David asked when he was sat down.

"Oh, you'd know if she was, cause most of you would be dead by now," Gold told him with an eye roll.

"Then we'll just have to find her before she finds it," Melody chimed in.

"We will," David agreed.

"And this time, we finish it," Mary Margaret added.

Everyone turned to her shocked. Melody nearly went to slap the former bandit to make sure she was feeling ok.

"Mary Margaret..." David trailed off.

"David. She needs to be stopped. She needs to be killed. This is our family. We are going to protect it," Mary Margaret said firmly.

"Of course we will, but what you're talking about goes beyond that."

"Does it? Because she is the reason you've never met my mother."

"I know. I know what happened to Queen Eva, and I have zero problem with Cora dying for it. But not by your hand, and not out of vengeance."

"Why?"

"Because you wouldn't be able to live with yourself. You have the purest heart of anyone I have ever known. That's who you are, and that's who you're going to stay."

Everyone else stood awkwardly and Melody cleared her throat.

"Well, that got serious fast." She turned to her brother who was clutching his chest. "You okay?" Then she winced. "Sorry! Stupid question."

"I'm beginning to feel a bit stronger. Take me back to my shop. There's magic there that can protect us."

"Let me guess. I get to go with Ruby," Henry guessed, looking at them.

"You got it, kid," Emma said hugging his side.

"I'll keep him out of the crossfire," Ruby told her.

The two went to Ruby's car and then drove off.

"This is going to be fun," Melody said sarcastically, breaking the silence.

---

Neal set Gold on the couch in the backroom of the Pawnshop and Melody walked in with an empty vial.

"Melody, did you find it?" Gold asked her.

Melody looked at him unimpressed.

"Yeah. There's nothing in it."

She shook the container to make her point when there was a clinking sound. Her eyes diverted to the vial and her eyes narrowed.

"What the..."

She stuck her hand inside the container and took out something that looked to be invisible. Melody sighed at her stupidity.

"Invisible chalk. Use it in the front doorway. Draw a line." then he looked at the others who were standing nearby. "The rest of you, you might want to prepare for battle," Gold told them.

"Great," Melody replied as she followed them out of the room.

The teen walked to the front door and crouched down, drawing the line with the chalk. Neal and Emma stood behind her.

"Missed a spot," Neal joked.

Emma elbowed him in the ribs and Melody turned to him.

"Haha, very funny."

"I didn't know you were magical."

"It runs in the family," she spoke, smiling slightly.

"Guess it skipped a generation," Emma chimed in.

Melody laughed and Neal rolled his eyes.

"Whatever," he said.

David walked in and nodded his head to them.

"We're all clear outside."

---

It seemed like a bad time to walk into the backroom considering Mary Margaret looked conflicted and Gold looked like he was up to something. But Melody paid it no mind, knowing more important things were going on.

"I drew the invisible line. At least I think. I can't really tell since it's invisible." Gold rolled his eyes and Melody ignored it. "What now? You cast a protection spell?"

"No, no. You're going to do that for me. I'm relying on you," Gold revealed.

"That's probably not the smartest thing." she saw her brother's serious face and then sighed. "I can't cast a spell."

"Yes, you can. It's in you."

"How? I'm not strong enough."

"Just try. Believe in yourself."

Melody gave up arguing with him and then nodded. She closed her eyes and concentrated. But the problem was, she was worried. What is she messed up? What if she couldn't cast the spell fast enough and Cora kills her brother? What if-

"Stop thinking! Conjuring magic is not an intellectual endeavor. It's emotion. You must ask yourself, 'why am I doing this? Who am I protecting?' Believe that you can cast the spell," Gold said. Melody closed her eyes again and focused. She did what Gold said. She focused on all of the emotion she felt when she was abandoned. She focused on the emotion she felt when she thought Hook was going to die. She focused on the emotion she felt when she and Gold made up after years. A wave of magic pushed out through the shop, making everyone stumble for a second, then left. Melody opened her eyes and smiled in surprise. "You did it," Gold told her with a small smile.

"Yeah... I did," she realized.

---

A tremor surged through the building and David entered the back of the shop to warn the others.

"It's them. Regina and Cora - they're here."

Melody looked up at him and she grabbed a sword from the table. She ran to the front room and stood with the others.

"You sure you want to be here, kid?" Emma questioned, concerned for the teen.

The brunette nodded in response. "I can't run scared, Emma. I'm going to fight for the people I love."

Emma smiled in response and then a fireball came crashing into the shop. Cora and Regina emerged and Melody glared, angry they broke through so easily. Regina saw her daughter, ready to fight her, and her eyes filled with sadness. But then she remembered how if she did this, Melody and Henry would be her children once again. This time, with no one in the way. Her face became angry and she glared at Emma.

"Regina. Think about what you're doing," Emma spoke, giving the ex-queen a warning.

"Don't talk to me," Regina snapped.

She conjured a fireball and threw it at David and Emma. Melody deflected it with her sword. Now annoyed that her daughter was going against her, she used her magic to throw David out the front door and then locked him out.

"David!" Emma and Melody yelled in worry.

Cora magically blasted Emma backward and Neal lunged at Cora in retaliation. But then she disappeared in a puff of purple smoke, dropping the dagger on the floor in the process. Regina attempted to magically strangle Emma but then is distracted by Melody standing by the Savior. Emma saw her opportunity and grabbed a dagger, holding it to Regina's throat. Melody looked torn at what to do. Help Emma or her mother. Nearby, Neal and Cora face off. Cora sees the dagger on the floor and then sees Regina being held by with a knife to her throat.

"What's it going to be?" Neal asked Cora.

"Mother!" Regina spoke up in worry.

"Choose wisely."

Cora summoned the dagger to her hand and Emma then threw Regina into Cora, making the two of them fall into the glass counter.

"Fall back to Gold! I have the chalk," Emma directed.

Neal and Emma turn and grab Melody who was staring concernedly at her mother. They flee to the back of the shop and Emma drew a line in front of the door with the chalk, creating a protective barrier.

---

Outside of Gold's shop, David comes to. He quickly got up and brought out his phone, calling Emma who was in the backroom with Neal, Gold, and Melody.

Emma got out her phone that was ringing and answered it, turning it on speaker.

"David?" she answered.

"Are you guys safe?" he asked her.

"For now. I've got the spell up in the back room."

"Is Mary Margaret okay?"

There was silence and Melody and Emma exchanged glances.

"She's not with you?" Emma questioned.

Melody got a bad feeling in her stomach and she furrowed her eyebrows.

"No," David replied. "Where the hell is she?"

---

The group watched as Cora continued to try and break through the barrier.

"It's getting weaker. She's going to get through," Melody spoke up.

"Maybe it's for the best. At least this cursed power will pass from this world," Gold said.

Neal turned to him. "No. No, you're not dying."

"I am dying. That much is certain. I need to talk to Belle. Emma, please."

"Who's Belle?" Neal asked them.

Emma dialed a number and handed her cell phone to Gold.

"His girlfriend," Melody told Neal.

There was a moment of silence as Belle answered the phone.

"I-I... I know. I know. It's just... Sweetheart, I... I'm dying," Gold told her.

There was a muffled response and then Gold sighed.

"I know that you're... confused about who you are. So, I'm going to tell you. You are a hero, who helped your people. You're a beautiful woman, who loved an ugly man. Really, really loved me. You find goodness in others. And when it's not there, you create it. You make me want to go back. Back, to the best version of me. And that never happened before. So, when you look in the mirror and you don't know who you are, that's who you are. Thank you... Belle..." Gold said, ending his - what was in a way - speech.

Gold hung up the phone and Neal cleared his throat and broke the awkward silence.

"Didn't know you had that in you," he said.

Melody quirked a smile. "To be honest, neither did I."

Gold chuckled slightly. "Oh, I'm full of love." he looked at Neal with sorrow. "I've spent a lifetime looking for you. For a chance to say I love you. And I'm sorry." he looked at Melody and the girl frowned, knowing where it was going.

"Rumple..."

"Melody, I know I already apologized, but it doesn't change anything. I know that. And after I'm gone, you'll feel alone. But you won't be alone. Don't let what our father did change you. Don't let it hurt you anymore. He isn't worth it."

Melody smiled through the tears that formed and squeezed his hand.

"Don't be sorry. It's in the past now and plus, you're my brother."

Neal took Gold's other hand and Gold smiled at him. Emma couldn't help but smile lightly at the scene.

Melody looked down at her and her brother's intertwined hand and smiled sadly. There were no such things as happy endings, but that didn't mean moments that made someone happy weren't worth living.

---

Finally, Cora broke through the barrier and entered the back of the shop. Emma, Melody, and Neal are armed and prepared to fight.

"You three - out of the way," Cora said.

She then teleported them out of the room and to a random path in the woods, leaving Cora and Gold alone.

Melody gasped as she looked around.

"No," she denied, shaking her head in disbelief. "No. No. No."

Emma wrapped her arms around the teen as Melody yelled and cried.

"I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry, Melody," Emma said sadly, tears filling her own eyes at the girl's pain.

---

Back at the shop, Cora rose and raised the dagger above Gold, ready to stab him. But before she could, Regina appeared and shoved Cora's heart back into her chest. Cora gasped and the dagger fell to the floor. She saw Regina and the two smiled at one another.

"Mother..." Regina trailed off, her eyes filling with happy tears.

Cora laughed happily and smiled wide. Confused, Gold checked the wound on his chest and realized that it has completely healed over. Cora paused and looked down, where she there was a hole in her chest. Regina caught her mother when she collapsed to the floor. Gold stood and picked up the dagger.

"Mother? Mother? What's wrong?" Regina asked.

"This... Would've been enough. You... You would've been enough," Cora said, her eyes fluttered but then she opened them back up, struggling to look at her daughter. "Melody... she will be... so important. She will change..."

But before she could finish, Cora's eyes closed.

"Mother? What's going on? Mother? Don't leave me, please... What about Melody? What about my daughter?" Regina asked covering her mouth with her hand, realizing her mother was gone.

"Your mother did you no favors," Gold told Regina.

Regina spun to him and glared harshly.

"Shut up! You stole her life! You cast some spell."

"I did nothing."

A frantic Mary Margaret rushed into the room with David trailing behind her, looking worried.

"Regina! Stop!" she demanded.

She saw that she was too late and gasped. Regina looked to her and then glared even harder.

"You did this."

Unknown

He sat silently with a glass of bourbon in hand as he stared into the fire. Bored was the only emotion that filled his body. There was a tapping of shoes hitting the floor and he heard a heartbeat.

"If it isn't about the doppelganger, I'm not interested."

The female behind him chuckled lightly.

"It's not about the doppelganger, Klaus," the witch told him.

Klaus stood up and turned around.

"Then leave." he saw that the witch wasn't going to budge so he smirked. "Fine. What is it you have for me?"

The witch smiled and walked further into the room.

"Word on the street is that there is a prophecy about you."

Klaus raised an eyebrow. "A prophecy?"

"Indeed. The prophecy states that a girl from a broken past will change the fate of the one and only Niklaus Mikaelson."

Klaus stood for a moment before laughing. He laughed and smiled.

"That's a good one. Now scurry off little witch, I've got business to attend to."

The witch smiled and then nodded.

"Very well. But I'll leave with this, Klaus." the witch grew serious and then spoke in a calm tone. "She will be your Savior. She will be the only one who will understand you. She will be the only one to love you... in a romantic way. Do not lose her."

With that, the witch turned and left. The door closed with a light bang and Klaus stood for a moment, repeating what the witch said in his head. But he then shook his head, laughing to himself, making it seem like he didn't believe the witch when deep down, he wished she was right.

But no one would understand him. No one would stay next to him through everything.

No one would love him.

But he was wrong.

---

I just wanted to point out that Melody won't meet Klaus in this book. She'll meet him in book two when she's older and can actually be in a relationship. And yes, if you didn't already know, book two will take place in The Vampire Diaries, but is a crossover between OUAT and TVD, and book three will take place in The Originals but is also a crossover between OUAT and TO. If you have any questions about this (just not questions about the storyline and such), feel free to let me know!

And I would recommend watching The Vampire Diaries and The Originals just so you know who the characters are in the shows, the plot line, and such. But you don't have to.

How you do feel about Cora telling Regina that Melody will change something, and then a witch telling Klaus that Melody will change his fate?

Do you think Melody will change Klaus's fate in a good or bad way?
