CHAPTER ELEVEN

BONNIE AND CLYDE
CHAPTER ELEVEN
❝I KNOW, I KNOW THAT EVEN IF YOU PRETEND I CAN SEE THROUGH IT, BONNIE AND CLYDE, BONNIE AND CLYDE ONE NIGHT. WHO CARES, WHO CARES, WHO.❞

♔ ♔ ♔

She was tired, dehydrated, and highly aggravated. Waiting in the airport was usually something Rosé didn't mind, especially if she was with her brother. But she was tired from the early wake up call.

The production team, film crew, and the cast had their own private plane and Rosé can't deny that she was excited. No economy seats, no crying babies, and the possibility of free wifi. She wasn't the type who needed internet or else she'll get bored, but she definitely needed to work on updates, especially with the amount she had replaced.

The younger twin was getting a headache at the thought of the amount of coloring, shading, shadowing, and editing she had to do. But then again she forced this upon herself. It's may seem sad that Rosé dedicated her life to her book, but she loves the feedback and her work laid out in front of her.

"Wanna tell me why you're avoiding me?" Rosé jumped at Tom's voice and nearly stumbled onto her bottom. She clutched her chest as she tried to calm her racing heart. Fucking heart only reacted like this because it's fucking Tom Holland, and because he scared the living jeebies out of her.

The actor smiled amusedly at her reaction before he leaned against the wall in front of her. "Yup you're definitely avoiding me," he concluded as he threw his hood off his head. Tom jokingly pouted as he batted his eyelashes before swaying back and forth. "Rosie Girl, are you mad at me?"

Rosé rolled her eyes before taking off her own hood. Her dyed hair messy and sticking out in every direction. Her face was bare from makeup but she could honestly care less. She isn't a celebrity nor did she think she needed makeup to look nice. Hell, she was dressed in a sweater with day old coffee stains and sweats that were Noah's, hence the rolled up pant legs.

"I'm not avoiding you," Wrong, she most definitely is, seeing as she spent the last few days in Atlanta with Noah or Chris or Robert. And whilst the idea may seem exciting she spent time with Noah by fighting over which Korean drama to watch. As for the two actors she spent time with them by talking smack about the girls who used to make fun of her back home. "I'm tired with this whole internship and schoolwork on top of that."

"How's online schooling?" He's trying and Rosé could tell. Tom knew that something was wrong and she could tell that he was desperately trying to fix something that was unspoken. And oh how it broke her heart to see him act so desperate.

She nodded her head slowly as she averted her gaze. She looked at anywhere but Tom. Rosé tapped her fingers along the handle of her bright, pink suitcase. "It's good, really good."

Tom pressed on the button and shut the handle down into its shrunken position before pushing her suitcase aside. He looked anxious and nervous and held Rosé by her shoulders, and she knew why. He hasn't acted like this since they were kids. And even when he forced the truth out of her it was always through texts, but now here they are face to face. There was no screen to hide behind.

"You're hiding something from me," he observed. Tom showed no signs of letting her go anytime soon. He looked desperately for any sign, anything to indicate that something was wrong. "We've never hid anything from each other. Why now? Is everything alright with you? You know you can tell me anything, Rosie."

"Tom, just drop it — "

"No I can't just drop it Rosie! You're my best friend and it fucking sucks that you're hurting and I don't know why," Tom said out of agitation. He dropped her shoulders and paced back and forth. Rosé watched as her best friend ran his nimble fingers through his hair. "I just want to help . . . "

"Idiot," she mumbled in her mother tongue as she stared at the young actor. Rosé tugged on her lower lip with her teeth, "Okay, okay I'll tell you. This guy I know, he told me that he likes me."

She watched his face carefully for a reaction, anything to tell her that she's not fighting a losing battle. That somewhere, maybe even if it's just a small part of him, he loves her as someone more than a friend.

This is so wrong, she thought. For her to hope that Tom doesn't truly love his girlfriend, for her to hope that he'll choose her over Camille over any other day. Rosé would never want him to choose between her and his girlfriend, but she can't lie that she hopes that if it ever came down to it he'd choose her.

But Tom's reaction wasn't even close to the one she was hoping for. His expression softened at her words and he wasn't as tense as before. Instead he gave her a small smile, "Oh. Why didn't you just say that?"

He doesn't care, she realized. Rosé faked a smile as she shrugged her shoulders, "Because I haven't dated in awhile. Last boyfriend dumped me on my birthday, remember? I never had luck in the whole dating department."

"That's because all the guys you dated were all wrong for you." Then tell me who is right for me, she thought bitterly. "This guy, is he a good guy at least?"

Rosé nodded. "He's one of the best, actually. My best friend, Seth. Nice lad really. Got his own flat out in Sydney, stable job, and we're close."

"Depends what job. Are you sure it's stable — "

"Not all of us can be famous actors like you, Tom," Rosé joked, but Tom detected a drip of venom instead of the usual honey tone she speaks with. "He's a photographer for environmental magazines and travel catalogues. It's a good job."

"That's great, Rosie Girl." Nothing was going right for them. What was going on? Why can't he fix this? What happened between them?

"Roseanne, sweetie," Annie called out to her daughter as she jogged towards the two. Her mother looked exhausted and Rosé couldn't blame her, after all the woman has been working late nights discussing the schedule, making small changes to the script, and figuring out

"Mum, what is it? What's wrong?" Rosé asked her mother worriedly as she noticed the frantic look on her mum's face. It was a look she often saw as a kid whenever her mother didn't know what to make dinner or she was late to take Clarissa to her piano lessons.

Annie Shin has always been a worry wart, but Rosé still couldn't help but worry about her mother.

"The plane can't fit us all," Annie exasperated in an anxious tone. She paced back and forth as she chewed on her nails. The producer threw her hands up in exasperation and she giggled nervously, "That's fucking great! Isn't it? Fucking idiots can't get shit right, I gave them a specific amount of seats needed and they give me this fucking dog shit motherfucking bullcrap."

"Mum, calm down," Rosé instructed her mother carefully. She stood in front of Annie and took her hands into her own. She pressed a kiss on each knuckle, something she's seen her father used to do for her. "We can fix this, yeah? Relax, everything will be okay. Tell me what I can do to fix it."

This was it, this is what Tom remembers. The caring, sweet, and calming side of Rosie. It was something he missed so much. Because no matter how terrible the world may seem, she was always someone who reminded him that there is happiness in the small things.

This was one of those small things.

"There's room on another plane, economy seats. It's not another private plane, but our next one isn't for another few days — "

"I'll go," Rosé interrupted. She held her mother's hands lovingly before pressing another kiss on her mum's left knuckle. "I'll take that seat, okay? Either way I'll be meeting you in Germany. I'll be fine, Eomma."

Tom shook his head as he stepped to her side. He wasn't comfortable with the idea of Rosé alone on a plane for the next few hours. He, on the other hand, didn't mind as he was a social person. As for his Asian best friend, not so much, she practically stutters when introducing herself to someone new. "Rosie, no, I'll go, you should stay with your mum."

"Don't be ridiculous, Tom. You're an actor, I'm just an intern," Rosé argued under her breath so her mother didn't hear. "You're famous, I'm not. You really think it's a smart idea for you to go on a flight with a bunch of people around you? I think not."

♔ ♔ ♔

It's not too bad, Rosé thought to herself as she tried getting comfortable in the cramped economy seat. The flight hasn't even taken off yet and she was already tired of it. It didn't help that the person in front of her had already leaned their seat backwards or that they had placed her on the back of the plane near the restaurants.

Still, she didn't mind it too much. The flight had a large selection of movies and shows for her to watch, which gave her the chance to finally start Game of Thrones. A few other interns, Marie and Byron, sat not too far from her so at least there were familiar faces. And finally there were only three minutes left for boarding and she was sat in the middle with the whole row to herself.

"Sorry, can I get in really quick? I'm next to the window." Spoke to soon, Rosé thought bitterly as she unbuckled her seat belt and got up. But as she met the eyes of her fellow row mate she couldn't help but let her jaw drop and her eyes widen from shock.

      "Annie?"

      "Seth?"
