"stop! let go!"
Teleporting to kill her mother seemed like an awful waste of energy. Seeking comfort from her father would be ridiculous but seeking comfort in the form of intimacy looks to be just what she needs.
The vague amount of trust she had in Loki was infinitely favourable to confronting her two-faced mother. She could no longer trust her mother, not that she ever did previously, but definitely not now that she has been shown the truth of her mother's dark aura. Where there had once been a strenuous chance of repair, all Lusine sees now is red.
Her power was growing as more and more chaotic memories and events were brought to her. Teleporting was no issue to her any longer, though it appears to sap more energy than other acts did.
She arrives in Loki's chamber in a flash, her eyes searching for him immediately, chasing the craving.
He's already looking at her when she meets stare, rises to his challenge with a roaring thunder in her blood. In his hands is a book, worn and loved, and at his thin mouth rests a smirk she knew she'd be eternally weak for. Her undoing until the end.
"You really ought to stop teleporting in and making me jump, Lusine," He jests, slipping his bookmark between the pages to keep his place. He closes the book, putting it in his lap, and frowns as he sees her cheeks wet with tears that glisten with every move she makes.
Without the usual remarks, Lusine walks across the room and sinks onto the bed beside Loki. Seeing her so silently upset, Loki didn't know what to do to comfort her. This was the worst he had ever seen her and strangely he felt compelled to make her better again, to hurt whoever brought these tears in floods.
"What's wrong?" He asks, a touching gentleness to his voice.
"I didn't kill Regina," She says, voice small. A mere shade of the strength she commanded the world with.
"What?" Loki's concern is taken over by his curiosity.
Lusine looks hauntingly into the thin air as if she could see someone before her. "My parents poisoned her, Loki." She looks at him with eyes that betrayed her calm manner. Wet and ringed, with smudges of dark make up. "Regina was long dead before I even put the blade to her throat as her final dying wish."
He searches her eyes for answers. When he finds it, he knows. Understands that rumbling darkness. Greets it like an old friend.
"And you want revenge?"
Her instantaneous grin of the most poetic kind of deviance makes her answer clear immediately.
Of course, she wanted revenge. Revenge is sweet and smooth on the tongue. Sugar water trickling down the throat, a silver river of sweetness. Revenge is justice. The kind of justice Lusine lusted for every single living breathing day of her darkened life. She had lost the one person who had made her life worth living and the only person she's ever loved so intimately and ardently. All this time she had been haunted by the fiction that it was her fault, but now she knows it was just her selfish mother trying to get her own fantasies for her daughter to line up.
"Yes," She whispers, barely audible but Loki knew before the lips he so desperately wanted parted and spoke the beginnings of her personal war into existence.
His hand slips around to the back of her head, pulling her closer to him. He places a soft yet sweet kiss on her temple. "I can do that for you. I can be the one to bring the revenge to all who have wronged you, starting with your mother dearest." His thumb brushes over her hair while he searches her soul.
Luisne sucks in her bottom lip, analysing Loki's expression for a hint of a lie. But there was nothing for her to find except genuine promise. The heated space between them was closing as Lusine moved toward him. His hand moved to her jaw, lifting her head up slightly so that their lips would meet in a kiss.
A kiss that was not filled with a furious kind of passion. It was soft and unlike any kiss the duo had ever shared previously. Perhaps this marked something new for them. Perhaps this meant happiness. That's all Lusine could ever dream of as Loki's kiss ran along her damp cheek, brushing away delicate tears
And as she pulls her lips back from his she lets her lips curl into a smile she had not let rest upon her lips since she'd known she had fallen in love with Regina.
"Thank you," She breathes, her warm breath tickling at Loki's lips and taunting him. He would do anything for those lips. "You're all that I've got left." Lusine pushes her hands over Loki's shoulders, lifting herself onto him. "Don't leave me like all the others did," She whispers into his ear, her lips brushing lightly against his ear.
"I won't," He promises, his hands sliding down her body to her hips. His breath catching in his throat as Lusine kisses down his neck, beneath his ear, appreciates every inch of him with her mouth. "You don't have to worry," He tells her as if he were worried she would stop if he didn't say anything else.
She pushes him backwards, her hands clutching onto him in worry that he would break his promise. Grinning, Loki rolls over so that he could look down on Lusine, the woman with nothing to lose but everything to give. She smiles up at him, genuinely happy to share a moment alone with him and a look in her eyes that told him she would never betray him.
Too loyal for her own good, perhaps.
His hands slip up her arms as their lips reconnect. They smile against each other, never wanting their infinity to end. Loki reaches the straps of her dress, his fingers working to pull them off her shoulders.
Lusine breaks the contact between them with great reluctance to say, "We're going to take over the world together, Loki." Her grin made him remove his hands from her body and move them to cup her face gently.
He laughs, rolling off her and lying beside her. "That we are," He responds as Lusine rests her head on the pillow beside him.
The silence was stretching and their eyes only looking at one another, nothing else. Lusine liked to figure people out, but when she looked at Loki all she saw was tricks. Her determination was strong. "Are you ever jealous of Thor?" She asks him, reaching her hand out toward his cheek. Unable to keep her hands away from him, she lets her fingers dance across his skin as if his very being allowed her to breathe with ease.
"Thor is strong, a warrior but he is a brute and foolish with his strength..." He trails off not knowing how to collect together his words in such a manner that would not cause Lusine to mock him. "But I am strong with my mind."
"You're intelligent," She says, drawing her hand back from him. She thoughtfully chews her lip as she contemplates whether her next question would be pushing the boundaries to the extreme. She shuffles closer to him, searching his features, and looping her leg over him. "Do you want to be king of Asgard someday, Loki?"
"Of course, I do," He responds without hesitation, his fingers tracing lines up and down her bare thigh leaving ribbons of fire behind.
"You'll be king someday, Loki," She tells him, lifting her hands to his face. Her fingers sprawl across his cheeks, her thumbs rubbing against his skin. "I swear it. Even if I have to die for you to get your happy ending."
Loki could only smile at the woman before him who was willing to give her life for his dreams. She was truly a gift to his world, but she was expendable. He had lived without her once and he could do it again, even with the difficulty he knew it would inevitably entail.
