Surprise!
19.
"Aries."
"What makes you say that, Hobi hyung?" Lisa asked.
"I don't know, he's buff and looks fit." Hoseok shrugged.
"Anyone can get their ass to the gym and become fit," Jennie deadpanned.
"I know, but Aries tend to be more health conscious," Hoseok explained in a know-it-all tone. Lisa looked confused.
"Am I health conscious?" She asked, pointing at herself.
"I mean, there's no reason for you to be. You're already perfe—"
Rosé suddenly slapped her hand to her mouth.
"You can simp over her later, we're straying from the topic," Jungkook said, waving his hands.
All eleven seated on the terrace of the party hall were now trying to guess their newest friends' Zodiac sign, based on how he behaved.
"Jungkook's good looking. Must be a Libra," Jimin said, smirking.
"Just because you're a Libra doesn't mean that all Libra's are supposed to be good looking."
Taehyung spoke up, rolling his eyes.
"I agree with Jiminie, though," Jennie said, "plus, he's way too flirty to not be a Libra."
Jennie continued cuddling with Jimin, who looked at her in suspicion.
"How do you know that he's flirty?" He interrogated, squinting his eyes at the girl seated in his lap.
A look of panic flashed through her eyes. Thankfully, Rosé saved her.
"Jungkook's good at literally everything. I think he's a Gemini," she said, nodding her head.
Jungkook gave everyone who tried to guess, the same response; a nod of his head, accompanied by a slight hum. They had no way of telling whether their answers were right or not.
Jimin was still staring at Jennie. However, he snapped his head upon hearing an unlikely person speak.
"Leo," Yoongi said, "I have a feeling he's a Leo."
Everyone stared at Yoongi, who was downing another shot, in either shock that he joined in on their little game, or confusion as to why he said Leo.
Jisoo, who happened to be drinking water, began coughing violently. After she calmed down, she stared at Yoongi in disbelief.
"You did not jus—"
"Oh, I did. And, I'm a tad bit disappointed that only Jisoo understood what I meant to say," Yoongi interrupted Jisoo, before smirking.
At this point, Jungkook couldn't help but feel someone's very intense gaze on him.
He looked ahead, only to meet Taehyung's grey orbs. Orbs which were literally penetrating his soul.
Jungkook was startled but didn't back down. Instead, he held his gaze and stared back at Taehyung with equal ferocity. Taehyung carefully took a sip of his drink, whilst still maintaining eye-contact.
"I can't decide on a particular sign, but I bet you on my handsome face, he's an Earth sign."
Seokjin decided to speak up. Jungkook just hummed, leaning down.
He then placed his elbow on his thigh, and continued his staring competition with Taehyung, with his face resting on his palm.
After a couple moments of silence, Taehyung smirked before saying, "He must be a Capricorn. He's similar to me."
Their stare however, didn't break. Although, Jungkook did tilt his head slightly at Taehyung's response.
"He's a Virgo."
Jungkook whipped his head to look at Namjoon, who had answered, his eye-contact with Taehyung finally breaking.
"Finally, someone who got it right. How did you know, though?"
"I know how to read people. I'm a Virgo myself, and I found similarities between us," Namjoon shrugged. "Plus, there weren't any other signs, which I had assumed you were, left."
Jungkook nodded in understanding.
"Okay, now we all know that Jungkook here, is a Virgo, like my brother dear," Jisoo began. "I wanna know. How many of y'all aren't drunk yet? Or haven't had alcohol in your systems till now?"
Only Rosé and Lisa raised their hands.
"That's good, because, I have a fun game planned for y'all." Jisoo smiled evilly.
"Oh, boy," was all Namjoon said.
He knew that nothing good was going to come out of these 'fun games', especially when Jisoo was involved.
"Shush, it's gonna be really entertaining," Jisoo said, lifting her eyebrow.
When she realized everyone, other than Namjoon that is, was waiting for her continue, she quickly cleared her throat, and said, "Truth or Dare."
A loud sigh was heard, and everyone turned to see Seokjin with a disappointed look on his face. "Truth or dare, really? I feel stupid for expecting something more than a game middle schooler's play."
"Agreed. Plus, it's the most cliche thing to play at a party," Taehyung added.
The brothers gave each other a slight nod in acknowledgement, which went unnoticed by everyone, except Namjoon.
The aforementioned was intrigued as to what the two of them were hiding, but knew it wasn't his place to ask. Not yet, at least.
"Well, why don't you suggest anything better?" Jisoo asked, in an irritated tone. Upon hearing no response, she scoffed and said, "Yeah, that's what I thought."
"I was planning on going easy on you guys, but those two brats there have annoyed me," she continued after a few seconds, glaring at Seokjin and Taehyung, who just shrugged in response.
"What are you thinking of, Sooya?" Jennie asked, shifting on Jimin's lap, which caused him to hold onto her hips tightly, and give her a look in warning, his jaw clenched.
"The game will be pretty normal, though there will be a slight twist, which I'll explain when it's my turn. However, you cannot skip anything. Once you choose something, you can't back out. If you guys don't agree to do the dare, then. . . let's just say, you'll have to deal with a not-so-nice Jisoo tomorrow," she said, smiling sweetly.
"When are you ever nice, though?" Yoongi grumbled to himself, but Jungkook and Lisa sitting closest to him heard it, and burst into a fit of giggles.
"She's kinda right, though. I mean, why choose dare, if you're going to back out in the end? It just doesn't make sense. At least threatening— I mean informing us nicely about the consequences of not doing it, will keep us on our feet," Hoseok said, chuckling nervously.
"Exactly! Thank you, Hobi. Oh, and also no 'middle school' questions, okay?" Jisoo said, obviously still annoyed. The others nodded in acknowledgment.
Jin gulped, but said, "Sure. I, for one, will answer everything honestly. Same for the dares."
"Anyways, let's start now, shall we?" Jisoo said, leaning forward, and grabbing a half empty beer bottle.
She carefully spun the bottle, and a few seconds later, it landed on Yoongi and Namjoon, the neck of the bottle landing towards Namjoon.
"Of course, I'm first. How pleasant," Namjoon groaned.
"Truth or dare?" Yoongi asked, looking slightly bored.
"Truth," Namjoon responded, which earned a cry of 'Pussy!' curtesy of Jimin.
Namjoon shot him a glare.
"What's something you never want people to find out about you?" Yoongi asked again, staring at Namjoon.
"There isn't anything specific, although there is a misconception that people have about me," Namjoon replied after thinking for a while.
"Go on," Jisoo urged him, curious as well.
"I'm not as smart as everyone thinks I am. I mean, I am, but at the same time, I'm not. People have this image about me in their mind that I'm brilliant in studies, and that I'm popular, but even if it's true, it isn't true."
Everyone, with the exception of Jungkook, stared at him in confusion.
"You're making no sense right now, I think you're more drunk than you think you are, Namjoon," Yoongi deadpanned.
"No, it's like—"
"He means that he isn't everything that he shows people. What people see him as, isn't necessarily what he actually is," Jungkook interrupted Namjoon.
"I'm still not able to understand anything," Lisa whined.
"Everyone thinks that because I get good marks and because I'm popular, I'm happy, or that I have a good life. But, I don't. How I do academically, and my popularity has no relevance to how my life is," Namjoon said.
"I think I understood a bit of what you're trying to say," Lisa said, nodding her head slowly.
"Namjoon hyung works hard to get good marks. That hard work is almost always thrown aside, or marked as irrelevant. He's pressurised to be the best that he can, because he's a role model now. All the good things that happened to him, were the cause of intense and tedious hard work." Jungkook elaborated.
Everyone stared at him, squinting their eyes at the fact that he seemed to know so much about it.
"Yes, that's what I meant. How did you know, though, Jungkook?" Namjoon directed the latter towards Jungkook, who stiffened upon hearing his name.
"I. . . could somehow relate. As you said, we have similarities." Jungkook smiled cheekily, trying to play it cool, and brush away the topic, not wanting any sort of sympathy from anyone.
Rosé began yawning, her eyes closed. She stretched a bit, and accidentally lost her balance, causing her to fall on Lisa's shoulder.
A whiff of Lisa's freshly shampooed hair, which she found strangely addicting, entered her nose, causing her to stay in the same position for a while longer than what could be considered normal.
Once Rosé opened her eyes and met the smirking faces of everyone else, she quickly stumbled to straighten herself, when she accidentally hit her knee on the table.
She let out a cry of pain, gripping her knee tightly, bringing it closer to her face.
This led to her leg kicking Lisa, causing her to let out a cry of her own.
Rosé immediately forgot about her own pain and began apologising profusely to Lisa, bending down to rub her shin, as that was where the heel of her boot had hit.
"Are you okay?" Rosé asked Lisa, looking up to meet her face, whilst still bent.
A blush coated Lisa's cheeks as she realised their position. She closed her eyes, trying to get rid of unnecessarily prominent thoughts.
Unintentionally, Lisa clenched her legs.
Rosé seemed to have realised it too, because she hastily sat up straight, all pain in her knee, long forgotten.
After a few seconds she finally looked up to see everyone staring at Lisa and her.
"And that, my friends, is what you call a Domino effect," Taehyung said, feigning enthusiasm.
That caused everyone to burst into laughter. Rosé however, was deep in thought. She realised some things, but they weren't necessarily good things.
"Moving on, Joonie, spin the bottle. Whoever it lands on, is who you're asking the next question to," Jisoo said, passing the bottle to him.
Namjoon spun the bottle, a bit too quickly, which caused it to almost fall over the table. Thankfully, Jimin caught it just in time, before it crashed to the ground.
"The God of Destruction strikes again," Hoseok said, laughing.
"We can't afford to break the bottle, so Joonie, you're asking Jimin," Jisoo declared, rubbing her head.
Namjoon looked sheepish, before asking Jimin, "Truth or dare?"
"Dare, obviously," Jimin said, smirking, although it morphed into a tight-lipped expression when Jennie shifted some more on his lap.
He pinched her hip, causing her to abruptly stop moving. Jennie turned back, apologetic and kissed his cheek, whispering a 'Sorry,' in his ear.
"Yell out the first thing that comes to your mind, right now," Namjoon said.
"I have the best girlfriend in the world. You see her, she's mine!" Jimin immediately yelled out, laughing slightly.
Jennie turned back to look at him once again, though this time, a look of adoration painted her face. However, slight guilt and pain was contaminated in her expression.
"The same goes to you, babe. You're the best boyfriend ever," she said, nevertheless, before kissing Jimin, who gladly reciprocated the action.
Cries of disgust was once again heard, closely followed by a shout of, "PDA is banned in this household!"
They pulled away, and began laughing, which contagiously spread and slowly, everyone seated were laughing, the sound of their laughter merging with the wind, spreading a happy vibe throughout.
