Pain suffocates,
Brings fate.
It rips you to shreds,
Those words that were said.

It grabs and squeezes,
Heeding not your wheezes.
It tears you into confetti,
Makes you as limp as Spaghetti.

It squeezes your heart,
Wrenching and tearing you apart.
Words become swords that stab,
Something you can't escape in a cab.

You can feel it,
Draining you bit by bit.
Any happy memories fade,
As hurtful decisions are made.

The darkness envelops me,
Stops us from feeling free.
It surrounds and suffocates,
And brings the ultimate fate.

And there is no longer light in the sky,
Despite the tears we cry.
For it makes the lights go dim,
And we're left to wallow in our sin.

Author's note:
I feel like this isn't really about pain, but heartbreak and emotions and life and failure and harsh words and messing up and all sorts of other things. I can't really put my finger on what exactly it is and what word I'm looking for, so for now it is simply just "pain".
