The majestic air sifted Anshuman's hair on his forehead, and the night foretold he had to make love to her. His finger clasped around the doorknob as he side-glanced at Sarah. "Babe. Get inside."
Meanwhile, Sarah who trekked outside of Joseph's house stopped and resumed the rhythm of padding over the dried leaves. Anshuman hung his head down and pressed his eyes until they enticed a look of a pervert. "Baby, I have a surprise for you-"
"Fine, I know Joseph has always lived up to the expectations of a corpse, but still I wonder what has gotten into him these days? He's become so much quieter. And you remember how he skipped eating my bread toasts in the morning." Sarah spread her hands, as her breathing quickened.
"Totes, given they were his favorites," Anshuman quoted it in a submissive tone as he got down the concrete stairs adjoining the pavement.
"Okay, did I tell you about the illicit lipstick stain on his shirt when we were driving back home?"
"Like how old is that talk?"
"From a few days ago?" Sarah scrunched her eyes, shooting up her chin as she revised the moments she had had with Anshuman and if he already knew about it but had a typical men's problem of slow retrieval of incidents from the past.
"No, you didn't mention it. But, hey! has he got someone? Like I mean a sort of girlfriend?" Anshuman's eyes grew from golf-sized balls to tennis balls and stopped before resuming his stroll. "Just by the thought of it, I see our friendship is indeed worsening."
Sarah headed into their home while Anshuman ran to catch her up.
"She can't be called his girlfriend officially, but I don't know-- speaking of his rapport with women is not very good so far. But I think he has some different story with this particular girl," Sarah alleged as she entered her small drawing room with a low-slung roof and slumped on the pink two-seater sofa.
"You sure about it?"
She nodded carefully.
Sitting near her, Anshuman admired Sarah's spider veins protruding on the pale skin of her forehead, caressing her muffin top with affection. "Sarah, trust me. I've never seen you this serious ever since we ended up living together. I think we should do something about this." Anshuman, perhaps for the first time in life sounded serious.
"You ain't joking, right?"
"Best case scenario, let's ignore it."
"Wait what? How can you say this?"
"Okay, I was being me. No problem, we got to do something."
Sarah looked through him, tilting her upper body to get a look at his expressions, which surprisingly weren't bathed with humor. "You aren't joking this time?"
"How could I? When my baby is passing through a physically toxic situation." Anshuman cupped Sarah's face before kissing her forehead. "Hmmph . . . just look at yourself. You look so sick these days. I have to start wearing binoculars to find my bubbly Sarah in you."
Sarah worked in a beauty parlor, so her job taught her enough about how important the proper skincare regime was. But, here, she wanted to help her friend Joseph and Ruby to unite. She knew Ruby would be a perfect partner for him and they both just need a little push from either side to fall into each other's arms. "Em . . . I have her friend ─ what was her name? ─ oh yes, Emily. I have her phone number." Sarah's monotonous voice changed to raucous in a split second.
"And now you clearly know what you have to do next," Anshuman asserted and his assurance-tainted words were enough for her to sleep the night away on the sofa soundly instead of their ring box-sized bedroom. Sarah closed her eyes as she penetrated her much-required sleep.

A lush green lawn, trimmed to perfection, decorated with aesthetic lights, and an interesting range of colors is the perfect setting for the occasion. People were dressed as cowboys-- Boot-cut jeans, leather boots, and big belt buckles could be seen on everybody's bodies.
Ruby was wearing a loose fringed detail white dress, with a pair of low heel boots wrapped around her feet. Her hair was pulled in a rope-twisted braid, the secured end rested on her right shoulder, and the nude color lipstick satisfied her makeup minimalist craving as it was at its finest.
Gently, her fingertips climbed up the mic stand and stopped on the clutch tension knob. The mic picked up her breathing noise as she continued to sing along with the other band members.
The ambiance hyped up with different energy, and a lot of elderly people joined them on the stage with a mug of brandy spilling out, as they shook their booties. One lady was even caught grabbing her husband by the collar of his red checkered shirt, as she rendered him off the stage.
Tapping her feet and bobbing her head as the beat caught up the high scale, Emily winked at Ruby. Emily saw Ruby on the other end of the stage singing and swaying her hips in a diameter. Emily acted as if she was having more fun than Ruby, but little did she know ninety-nine percent of her vigilance watched out for Sarah and her team.
Ruby invariably judged Emily's body movements with doubt from the corner of her eyes. Anyways, she was enjoying the kind of attention the audience was giving her, or them.
Teamwork was dreamwork.
Meanwhile, Anshuman pulled Joseph out of the car, reluctant to follow his friend's lead, Joseph stood there immobile. Sarah sailed from the other side of the car. "Yes, here we are!" A wide smile emblazoned on her face, clapping her hands at the same time.
"You sure? This looks like some─" Joseph was cut short.
"I'm double sure. Let's enjoy the party, Joseph!" Sarah and Anshuman pushed Joseph forward, breaking through the fairly snooty crowd and finding a peaceful place, so she could contact her other partner in crime, namely Emily.

Ruby was sober, for she was able to demarcate between boys and girls when all of them almost looked like each other in those brawny leather jackets and characteristic hats. She took a U-turn and led her way back to the little bar again, planning on getting on her bander tonight. After all, the kegs were free of cost.
Ruby flopped on the barstool, stubbornly hammering her fists against the wooden furnished counter to call upon the barkeep's attention. Someone beside her who was in a drowsy state; or specifically under the heavy influence of alcohol rose from his seat, pissed off.
Joseph!
"Hey, what are you──" Ruby covered her mouth with astonishment and irritation. Dissapporvingly, she had to accept it was a small world indeed.
"I've had it already, this girl is sticking on me like gum─" Mr Holden who couldn't take his proper stance slipped in her arms accidentally.
"Joseph! What the heck!" Ruby squeaked. "Mind . . . the . . . distance . . ." Her voice dropped an octave lower than before, and her eyes went round. A sudden impact of his metal hard body was about to break her into pieces, she grabbed the bulge of his arms, pushing his body.
"Control Pig Muscle!" Ruby jammed him on his seat and turned to face the man holding her drink on the other side of the corner. She was overwhelmed and stretched her hand to get the precious, in other words, a valuable shot of elixir in her hands and then set it on her tongue.
Joseph skipped the scene, as he was nowhere to be found. Ruby jumped on her toes and twisted her body in every direction to identify his frame amongst the other people, but her attempts were to no avail.
Leaving the crowd behind and regretting her decision of searching Joseph everywhere, her steps landed her on the south end of the lawn, from where a few people walking on the main road could be observed. She squeezed her eyes as she saw a drunk Joseph posing against the streetlight pole.
She walked toward him at a stately pace. He staggered and moved away, terrified. "Don't . . . come near . . . me . . . okay."
"Although, it's counted in the etiquettes to listen to your elders and obey what they say. But my version of etiquette thankfully creates no such obligation to listen to the elder, who himself does things like kids! You thirty-year-old kid. Now, stop me if you can," Ruby stated firmly, crossing her arms across her chest before putting his arm on her shoulder to support his colossal structure.
