I was bored. Correction, I had been bored for the past week. The Leaky Cauldron had no entertainment whatsoever so it just left me to my horrid thoughts. I couldn't go out and explore Diagon Alley either, cause nearly all the shops were closed and I had been there way too many times anyways. I hadn't brought anything with me so I just spent every day locked in my room, bored out of my mind. I had let Charcoal out this morning since she had been holed up in my room with me for days. She deserved some time to let her wings free and fly.
I thought about random things for a while in order to occupy myself. My thoughts went to that Weasley boy. What was he doing now? Was his shop still running? Had he gone home? He had probably retreated into a safer area. Maybe surrounded by his family while they all gave each other comfort in these harsh times. I scoffed. These times were nothing compared to 2nd Wizarding War. But fear was still evident in me.
A blood curling scream pierced through my thoughts. I jumped up and my hands immediately went to grab my bag. I had never taken anything out of it in case of an emergency. Staying alert, I listened to the commotion, which I assumed was happening downstairs. It could really just be a quarrel between two people but I wanted to be sure.
"IT'S THEM!!" someone screamed, "IT'S THE DEATH EATERS!!! CALL THE MINISTRY!"
"Avada Kedavra!"
Choking, and then the thump of a body. No. They had found me. Again. I unlocked my door and bolted towards the wall that led to Diagon Alley. Hurriedly, I tapped the bricks with my wand.
"SHE'S GETTING AWAY!"
Turning around, I saw a black figure running after me. Shit. Cursing, I tried to look for another exit but there was none. The wall rumbled in front of me and I slipped through running as fast as I can. Now, three of them were after me.
"Immobulus!"
I ducked and the spell missed me by and inch. Sprinting, I suddenly bumped into someone. Looking up it was the Weasley boy.
"Hey are you alright?" he asked.
"Stop her!"
George looked behind me, and quickly understood the situation.
"Here, get under my cloak."
I looked at him in confusion, but did as he said. Slowly, he inched us towards his shop, but he didn't stop at the front entrance. We went past it and then he led me towards the back. He swiftly unlocked the door and pushed me inside.
"They couldn't see us."
"What?"
"The Death Eaters. They didn't know where we were."
"Oh yeah," George scratched the back of his head, "The cloak you hid under was an invisibility cloak. Me and my brother made them b-but um since they were really hard to make we just kept them to ourselves."
"Thanks," I said.
"I-Oh it's no problem." George smiled sheepishly. "Why were they chasing you anyway?"
"I-um I'm not sure."
George looked at me, unsure, but didn't press on the subject.
"I need to leave soon," I explained, "They'll probably come looking for me and check your shop, so I should go."
"Hey." George grabbed my arm. "You don't have anywhere to stay right?"
I nodded.
"Come to our house."
"Our?"
"Well it's- it's the family house we have spare rooms," George suggested.
I sighed. "Are you sure?"
"Yes."
"How are we going to get there? Unless it just happens to magically appear in front of our eyes." I replied, sarcastically.
"Floo powder. I have a fireplace."
"What powder?"
"Floo powder. Have you never used it before?" George asked.
"No. I don't even know what it is." I said, confused.
"Here, I'll go first. You stand in the fireplace," George explained, actually standing in the fire place, "and then you grab some floo powder and say 'The Burrow'!"
Green flame erupted and then he disappeared. What the heck? I should probably have left but I didn't and ended up in the fireplace with the powder in my hands.
"The Burrow?"
Suddenly, I was sucked up into the fireplace and I started spinning. My elbows crashed into something and I felt like I was going to puke.
Finally, I arrived and fell straight into another fireplace. Coughing, I got up and saw George smiling down at me. He offered me a hand and I accepted it. He pulled me up. I brushed myself off, and that's when I finally noticed all the people looking at me.
"Um, hi?"
