"So our position lineup would look like this. Starting from Tanaka(Wing spiker), Hinata(Middle Blocker), myself(Wing Spiker), Kageyama(Setter), Tsukishima (Middle Blocker), Ennoshita(Wing spiker), and M/N(Libero)." Daichi announced as everyone gathered around in the gym.

"I want to see how much fight we can put up with Seijou as our opponent, and Tsukishima is one of our tallest players." Daichi spoke as he glanced at every single one of the players.

As Daichi spoke, Yamaguchi let out a small sigh as he thought to himself dejectedly that he was the only first-year who was left out.

"Okay." Tsukishima nodded as Daichi informed him of his position.

"I intend to use Hinata and Kageyama as a set." Daichi declared as he matched Kageyama and Hinata's gaze. Garnering a look of mutual confusion as Hinata and Kageyama eyed each other.

All of a sudden, Takeda spoke up, "Wait a moment can we review what these positions mean?"

"Middle Blocker?! Ain't that the same position as Tsukishima-kun?!" Hinata's eyes widened along with Tanaka as he started to question Daichi. "You mean you're placing Hinata in a position where height is important?! Why not place M/N there? He's quite tall and it's kind of weird that you're placing one of our taller players as a libero."

(Mini time skip as Daichi explains to Takeda sensei on the different positions in volleyball- cause I really don't want to write that.)

"You got that Hinata? You'll be the absolute strongest decoy!" Kageyama declared as he pointed at Hinata.

"OOOH?! The strongest decoy!" Hinata echoed eagerly before plopping down onto the ground in disenchantment.

"That sounds kind of disappointing."

"With you scoring points with a quick set while on the offensive will result in the opponent blockers focusing their attention on you. And when that happens we'll use the other spikers to score!" Kageyama lectured at the still dejected Hinata.

"Ah..." Hinata uttered out still sounding unexcited.

"Shoyo." M/N called out causing the little tangerine to look at him.

"Think about it, no matter how many huge and tall guys there are, guys like Tsukishima, it'll feel great when they get caught up by your movements. Like idiots, no?" M/N let out an innocent smile as he spoke, causing an uncontrollable shiver to go down everyone's spine as they glanced at M/N.

"Oohhh! That does sound cool!" Hinata instantly brightened up as Yamaguchi cried out in the background, "you better not be calling Tsukishima an idiot!" Which was promptly shut down by Tsukishima, "Urasai Yamaguchi."

"Conversely, you have to think. Because if you fail to maintain your role, the other attacks will end in failure." Kageyama spoke seriously, immediately dampening Hinata's spirits.

Before Daichi could scold Kageyama, M/N smacked Kageyama hard on the back, "Tobio, don't put so much pressure on him!"

"Ow, M/N...", Kageyama uncharacteristically whined as he made a pitiful face at M/N.

"Don't give me that look Tobio..." M/N sighed as he gently pats Kageyama on the head soothingly.

While Hinata was experiencing an internal crisis Tanaka spoke up, "But how is Hinata going to pull off the blocking which is essential in that position?"

This time Daichi answered, "Yeah, so with Hinata blocking, it would focus less on shutting down the opponents directly but more so on touching the ball to slow it down for us to pick it up."

"There's no way he'd be able to pull off something so skillful!" Tanaka looked on in worry as he eyed the now hyperventilating Hinata.

"It's a good start. Especially with Hinata's quick reflexes. Plus, it's just a practice match." Daichi explained.

"I guess I understand. But what about M/N? Him as a libero I don't get." Tanaka inquired once more.

"Well, since Noya isn't here, we figured M/N would be a great temporary replacement." Suga clarified.

Daichi nods as he continued from where Suga left off, "Plus, M/N does seem to be the most stable when it comes to receiving and defending based off the trials that we did. Also, Kageyama insisted that M/N is capable enough for the job. And for Kageyama to say that, it must mean something."

"But we'll be missing out on M/N's attacking power like this..." Tanaka trailed off.

"That's true, but Ennoshita..."

However, before Daichi could finish his sentence, a loud cry of surprise caused all three of them (Suga, Tanaka, and Daichi) to simultaneously turn their heads to look at M/N who had Kageyama in his hold while aggressively ruffling his hair(apparently as punishment for stressing Hinata out), as Kageyama only grumbled feebly.

"HINATA SHORT-CIRCUITED!" Tanaka screamed out as he took his eyes away from M/N.

"I'll do my b-best and sco-ore lot-ts of p-points..."

"No don't worry Hinata."

"I'll block. I'll set. I'll receive..."

"Hold on, hold on, calm down Hinata!"

"Shoyo, relax!"

"I'll do well. I promise."

"Hinata chill."

"I'LL CHILL!"

Chaos ensued as Hinata boils over under pressure.

"Wow, you look terrible Hinata." Daichi looked concerned for a moment.

"I kinda didn't get any sleep last night." Hinata replied, looking extremely zombie-like.

However, the moment M/N arrived, Hinata's spirits instantly brightened up, all signs of nervousness temporarily vanishing.

"I want to sit beside you M/N!" Hinata announced as he stood in front of M/N.

M/N was about to agree when Kageyama came between, "No I want to sit beside M/N!"

And with that, the argument over who should sit beside M/N on the bus ensued as M/N watched the scene before him blankly.

Turning away from the KageHina fight, M/N sought for Suga. "Suga-san, may I sit with you on the bus?"

"Sure M/N." Suga readily agreed as they both hopped onto the bus together, leaving the two to continue wrestling each other.

"Eh? Suga-san, that's not fair! M/N!" Both Kageyama and Hinata called out as they realised that M/N had left with Suga.

Sucks to be them.

I'm waiting to get to Aoba Johsai. I have things I want to write there 😭🥺. Also, I just didn't want to replace Ennoshita... I feel bad if I do.
