"Hello Kunimi-kun, as I've introduced earlier, I'm Akira M/N. Pleased to make your acquaintance", I gave him a small smile before settling down onto my seat.

Kunimi gave me a tiny wave before turning back to class. During the entire lesson, instead of paying attention to the boring teacher, I was staring at the view(aka Kunimi) the whole time.
I mean why would I look at the plain teacher when I have such a fine adorable specimen in front of me?
Of course, apart from admiring Kunimi from the back, my mind was too occupied with sadly not a handsome guy but an old man named Tanji Washijo. *Sigh*

Seeing the kind reminder again made me smash my head against the table. Being so frustrated I didn't even know that what I did caused a loud bang that reverberated across the whole class causing the teacher to stop writing, and the remaining of my classmates to turn to me. All of them were staring at me with my face planted into my desk.

"Um Akiri-san, you doing okay there?" I heard the teacher calling me.

Sheepishly, I raised my head off the table, nodding at her question with my cheeks flushed from embarrassment as I only then realised that the whole class's eyes were on me.

"Well, since you're alright you should pay more attention in class, Akiri-san. We don't want you to fail after all", the teacher's smile became tight.

I smiled sweetly at her, "Of course sensei."

Oops-
Did she notice me not listening to her lessons at all?
How passive-aggressive, but I'm sorry teacher, I just have way more important things that have to be done. Like thinking of a plan to make Washijo meow cutely like a cat.
I am not taking the penalty spin without a fight.

-

How the heck did I end up here?

"So M/N-san, it has come to my attention that you have played volleyball", Washijo spoke slowly as he sat in front of me at my house dining table his eyes never leaving mine.

"H-How-?"

"Your mother has very kindly told me that you in particular really enjoy playing sports, plus is a rather passionate fitness person. Apparently, according to her, you run daily and even do jump rope on a regular basis. And when I inquired about volleyball, imagine my surprise when she said that you've played volleyball before. Though most definitely not competitively but you do know what volleyball is." Washijo's face pulled into a creepy smile, and I guarantee you that it's one that can outrival Kageyama's.

Colour once again drained from my face as I mentally cursed at my mother. Mother how could you sell out your own son's information?! Betrayer!!
How the heck am I going to escape from this now?

"Um- hehe. I forgot?", a strained smile was plastered on my face.

Washijo gazed at me in disbelief, with not even a hint of amusement to be seen on his face.

I sighed "Fine, I concede. What do you want?"

"Let me see what you can do", he looked at me dead in the eyes, voice laced with nothing but seriousness.

"I- huh- what? I'm only 6 years old what the hell? I thought you only go for raw power and strength?" I spoke, with my voice turning softer at the last part.

"How do you know that?" Washijo gave me a side-eye.

"Huh?!" I looked at him in shock.
Shit, he heard me!

"Never mind, forget it. Just tell me what you know, and show me what you can do" he demanded, his tone commanding as if leaving me no choice but to obey to his request.

-

"You look tired. Are you alright Akiri-san?" Semi looked at me worriedly as my upper body was sprawled lazily on the canteen table.

I glanced up at Semi who was sitting opposite me on the canteen table wearily, "Semisemiiii, tired is an understatement. I'm practically exhausted."

And not just physically too...
Washijo that damned old man. He's old and yet still so filled with vigor,  yelling at me like there's no tomorrow.
Can't he be like a normal old man? Read some newspapers and relax.

"Why though? What did you do?" Semi looking even more concerned as I was drinking from my juice box without lifting my head from the table using a straw. Not even bothering trying to fight against my new nickname I gave him.

"I was sold by my mother", my eyes turned teary.

"HUH?!" Semi looked at me alarmed.

"No, no, don't worry. What I meant is that she told Coach Washijo that I played Volleyball and now he is making me practice, and it's killing me" I whined.

"Oh? Is Volleyball fun?" Semi asked.

"Yeah, it is! You should try it! There are many roles in Volleyball, there are the middle blockers, liberos, wing spikers... Oh! Oh! But let me tell you being a setter is extremely cool! They are like the control tower of the team, the essentially is the person who touches the ball the most throughout the game! And a good set is really, really beautiful and comfortable!" I started ranting unconsciously without even noticing.

What I didn't realise was that as I was so passionately spouting out all those volleyball facts, a little spark of determination grew in Semi's eyes as a small, almost unnoticeable smile grew by the edge of his lips.

-
Semi was touched by the sheer fervor for volleyball he saw in M/N as he couldn't help but notice the beaming smile that bloomed on his kohai's adorable face as he spoke of the sport.

"I'll try Volleyball too, and I'll be a setter. Then maybe one day you'll compliment me too."

-

"Huh? Did you say something senpai? I'm so sorry that I got too carried away." I sheepishly rubbed the back of my neck as I pulled my attention back to Semi.

"Hm? Oh, don't worry about it. I didn't say anything." Semi answered back, though I noticed that in his eyes, it held something unknown that wasn't there before.

"If you say so then," I uttered all confused as I received a notification.
