"It's like a war zone out here." Dakota mumbled to herself as she stepped over broken glass.

The damage done to the mall was absolutely devastating. She gave the benefit of the doubt that it was because they were confined indoors. Yet, she wondered what they were fighting that did all this.

She continued to follow the damage, hoping to find where the others were. She felt the curious gazes on her from the people hiding.

"M-mommy! Someone help my mommy!" The cry of a little boy rung in her ears. She turned to the sound of the child.

A little white haired boy sat pushing on a piece of rubble. His little arms pushing as hard as they could but it refused to budge. His sobs were heartbreaking.

  Dakota furrowed her eyebrows.

'All these people watching me and yet no one tried to help the kid. I get their scared but to leave a child is ridiculous.'

Dakota stepped over to the child and bent down.

"Hi sweetie, your mommy is under there right? Let me help you." She coo'd softly as she placed her hand over his. He could feel the warmth from her flames. It was calming to the child.

He had slightly flinched seeing she was on fire but was back to normal a second later. His big watery pink eyes staring at her. His pale skin flushed red from the crying and exerting himself.

"Please help my mommy." He sniffled as if he wanted to cry again. Dakota nodded and wiped his tears away. Smudging away some dirt on his face.

If superhero movies were true, she should have some extra strength right?

Placing her hands underneath the slab of rubble she lifted it up and was surprised by how easy it was. Therefore she continued moving pieces until she saw the body of an unconscious woman.

"Mommy!" The little boy cried out.

Dakota kneeled down beside the woman. Feeling for a pulse she saw the woman was still alive. Checking her out further she noticed the blood from the side of her head. Coming to the conclusion that she hit her head and just passed out.

From what Maui told her, she can heal and bring people back from the dead. The reviving has to be within 30 minutes of dying. She has an ultimate power that she can only use once every transformation but Maui can't remember what it was.

She focused her energy on healing the head wound. A ball of white fire showed up in front of her. She could hear the gasp of people hiding, many probably thinking she was going to hurt the woman.

"Please don't hurt my mommy!" The little boy cried out. Most likely hearing the whispers from those around. She wasn't surprised as people tend to fear what they didn't understand.

"Hey kid what's your name?" She asked the little boy. The white ball of fire still burning brightly.

"M-Mateo...." He stuttered as he looked down at his feet. She hummed.

"Mateo, your mommy is really hurt. I just want to help heal her. Can you trust me Mateo, so your mommy can wake up?" She asked softly as she caressed his chubby cheek. He looked between the girl and his mother. His breath hitching at the sight of blood staining her pretty white hair.

"I-I trust you." He nodded as he almost started crying again. She smiled at him and pinched his cheek. He laughed at the ticklish feeling.

Satisfied she eyed the murmuring civilians soon turning to the woman. She let the white fire touch the woman's body. Her body coated in the neutral temperature flame. A few screams resounded but Mateo squeezed her arm. Finding comfort in the unknown girl.

Seconds later, the fire died out. The woman's eyes fluttered open, slowly sitting up in confusion.

"Mommy!" Mateo cried out happily, jumping into the arms of the mother that blinked confused.

"What happened?" The young mother asked as she rubbed her head. Last thing she remembered was pushing her son out the way and getting hit in the head.

"The hero lady saved you mommy!" Mateo pointed at Dakota that watched with a small smile. Holding in a laugh at the boy that started crying again. She loved that he grew up in a home that allowed boys to express their emotions through tears.

The woman looked up at her. Slight surprise in her eyes as she was actually expecting Ladybug. She had heard and seen a lot of things about the girl lately and would've been shocked if the female hero came to help her.

  This was even better!

"Thank you so much! I was prepared to die honestly and just prayed someone would look after my little Mateo." The woman spoke her mind. This caused Dakotas eyebrows to furrow.

What is going on in this city?

She felt a tug at her hand and looked down.

"Yes Mateo?" She asked the boy curiously.

"Uh.... I want you to be my favorite hero but I don't your name." He said shyly as he played with her fingers. His head tilted down as red coated his cheeks.

She chuckled and bent down once more. Plucking a feather from her wings and putting it in his hair. Holding his hands in hers she gave him a small kiss on his forehead.

"You can just call me Phoenix."

Dakota had finally arrived to where the major drama was happening. After the civilians saw what happened with Mateo and his mother they started approaching her. Many apologizing for doubting her and others asking for her help.

She spent a good few minutes healing people and running through the mall.

When she had arrived to the scene, she watched as the girl she assumed was Ladybug capture the Akuma. She assumed she was too late to help so she started to walk away.

She stopped when she heard another scream. Turning around she saw the Akuma was black in color. It landed on someone and their body started to crack with black lines. Blood pooling out of their face. Her eyes widened in horror at the scene.

People started to run away in panic. She took to the sky to avoid being trampled. The black butterfly touched more and more people. The hero's could only watch as they probably didn't know what to do.

"I-I can't find my sister! Please, I don't know where she is or if she died!" The familiar voice of Olive cried as she talked to the male hero, Chat Noir.

Dakota felt her heart clench. She and her sister fight a lot but seeing her so genuinely distraught made her want to cry. She wanted to scream out that she was fine but if she asked her to take her to her........how would she explain?

When Chat Noir asked them to get to safety, she became determined to get rid of this nuisance so she could find her family.

She focused on killing the butterfly. Hoping it could have a better life if it reincarnated.

A bright flaming ball of red fire formed in front of her. Without missing a beat she threw it at the Akuma before it could touch another person. It flew past the black cat hero. Startling him as he watched it trap the evil bug.

The creature was trapped in the fire. Desperately trying to escape but it was unable to. They watched as it burned into a pile of ash.

Seconds later, the ash stared to move. A pure white butterfly shook the black dust off its body and fluttered up happily.

Dakota was surprised by these results as she really was just going to burn it to ashes. But hey, if it wanted to work out this way, that was fine too. Who was she to look a gifted horse in the mouth.

"Sorry, I'm late! Just call it a dramatic entrance!" She awkwardly joked as she found herself standing next to Chat Noir. Mentally cursing herself for joking at a time like this.

It's just how she copes, okay?!

"Hey Ladybug, do that little thing that turns everything back to normal!" She yelled out to the girl. A smirk on her lips as she placed her hands on her hips. Her hair dancing with confidence as the flames got brighter.

The blue haired girl woke up from her shock. A slight frown forming on her face.

"Who are you?" She yelled back with a little attitude. Her eyes flickered to her partner that seemed to be entranced by the girl next to him.

"Someone that had to clean up your mess. You're welcome." Dakota shrugged her shoulders. Her teasing tone only annoyed the other girl more.

"I don't need you to clean up behind me. I can do it myself." Ladybug huffed as she grabbed her lucky charm. Throwing it up to turn everything back to normal. A smug look in her eyes.

The room flashed and the mall was fixed like nothing happened.

.....but the people that were affected were still how they were. Ladybug looked at them confused for a second but brushed it off.

"Our work here is done, you can give me the miraculous you borrowed and I'll return it to its owner. Let's go Chat Noir." The female hero beckoned for her sidekick.

She assumed Master Fu heard that they were having some trouble and asked some random chick to help. After she gets the miraculous back from whoever this was, she would give them a light scolding for their attitude. She'd also talk to the guardian as they didn't need the help.

"What about the people that are still hurt and most likely dead?" Chat Noir asked frustrated with the girl. They needed to do damage control and console the people that lost someone today.

"The paramedics will help them. Plus I can't do anything about people that already died. They should've evacuated like I told them." Ladybug rolled her eyes as she crossed her arms. Her job was to defeat the villain, which she did. Anything after is no longer her problem.

"What is wrong with you?!" The blonde asked bewildered by her nonchalant attitude. Everyday she seems to get worse and worse.

"She's right......she can't do anything about it." Dakota started as she walked forward.

Ladybug glanced at her and her lip twitched up into a small smile. The mystery girl seemed to have some type of brain. She wouldn't scold her too bad then.

But this pissed Chat Noir off.

"I'm sorry but if you're going to have the same mindset as her, France doesn't need another hero like that." He sneered as he walked up to her. But he was stopped when she put her hand up to him.

"She might not be able to do anything about it, but I can." Dakota smiled at the man with a mischievous grin.

She snapped her finger and balls of fire circled around her. They were white and gold. He didn't feel any heat from them but a soothing aura. Ladybug frowned once more.

"What can you do that my lucky charm couldn't?" She scoffed at the girl making a fool of herself for 15 mins of fame. She was going to need more than a scolding.

Dakota ignored her and let the fire balls fly into different directions. The white flames hitting injured people who were first afraid of it as they were unsure. People that had already experienced what Dakota could do, told them to trust her.

The golden flames hit the people that had tragically died.

Chat Noir watched in worry as bodies ignited into flames. But to his surprise, no one screamed in pain.

The lights died down and the first to react were the people that were healed.

  "I-I'm not in pain anymore!"

  "She healed my daughter!"

  "I can walk!"

Then it was the people that were crying over their deceased loved ones.

"You're alive?! How is this possible?!"

"I thought I died, it just feels like a bad dream......."

  "I thought I lost you!"

Voices filled the mall at the turn of events. Cries of joy and relief as no one had to suffer anymore. Dakota smiled happily.

"What did you do?!" Ladybug yelled as she stomped up to the girl. Rage filled her being as she pointed angrily.

"Cleaned up your mess. Didn't I say that earlier?" Dakota tilted her head confused. Did she not say it in French?

"I know that! I mean how did you do that?! Who the hell are you?!" Ladybug yelled even more frustrated. She was then pushed out the way.

"Hi I'm Alya, owner of The LadyBlog! I would also like to know who you are!" A light skinned beauty with glasses pushed her way to the hero's. The excitement in her eyes couldn't be hidden. This seemed to piss Ladybug off more.

Dakota laughed loudly, bring everyone's attention onto her. Seeing Ladybug riled up was hilarious. She already had a negative impression of the girl so she didn't care about being cordial. She looked at Lady bug then moved her eyes to Chat Noir that stared at her in awe. She could see the flickers of guilt in eyes.

  She smiled at Alya.

"Just their new teammate. You can call me Phoenix~"
