Kim Namjoon had a tack for always being a focussed student. It was tiring to be so uptight with all the disciplining by his parents. Nonetheless, he had reputation to maintain. A huge reputation.
His parents never forced it upon him in a excruciating manner. Just subtle words thrown in and around. Just enough to make the young boy push himself beyond the limits.
"95 is okay. But you can do more, you know?"
"My friend's daughter got into the national university."
"Maybe one day I can also boast about my son to my friends."
After crossing 18, he had to move out of his place for college. Along the way he came across how others relaxed their way through life. The way they let their wild spirits run wild. Though he loved being free of it all, just not do anything for a while, he just couldn't just be free.
The reason being he couldn't keep calm knowing that he wasn't doing anything. It was like not working and keeping still would cause anxiety in him. Most of the time, something would occupy his mind. Preferably, something related to studies.
Taehyung knew of this character default in Namjoon. It wasn't a faulty, but a programmed default in the life of the older. Even if he loved the concentrating look on his boyfriend's sharp features, he feared that Namjoon would go through an irreversible burnout period.
Now, the only best way he could get his boyfriend to take a stress break was using his special, 'tata mic face' like how his friends had named it. It all had started when he had made a baby face just to get his chance at the karaoke stage. Taehyung just wanted his chance to sing his favourite song. And to get that rightful chance in the stage, he had to put the cute face
According to his boyfriend, it was absolutely irresistible to not fall for that look. If someone was actually against it, then they were truly monsters. To ignore it was a crime. More like an impossible crime.
And today was a one of those days. Taehyung had woken up to the soothing song that he had set as an alarm. A little cloudy and a few gusts of wind couldn't stop him from enjoying this beautiful Sunday. More importantly, he had planned a suprise date with his senior boyfriend. He hummed the tune of his favourite song 4 o'clock.
Where are you?
Oh you
Why are you crying?
Your and I are the only ones here
Me and you
Oh you
The break had just started after the stressful exams. He knew the next semester would start in three weeks. And that he wanted to spend it with his family. But in all of this, he also wanted to spend a few days with his boyfriend. It was likely that Namjoon would go meet his parents as well.
The results would be out in a week so there was time to recuperate physically and mentally. Grabbing a few crossiants and iced americano at the nearby cafe, Taehyung set out to spend his day with his boyfriend. Skipping along the crosswalks, he felt like a child again. A happy carefree child.
Upon reaching his boyfriend's apartment, Taehyung knocked the door for quite sometime. Except it didn't open, and thus he opened the door with the spare key he had.
"Hyung! Joonie~"
A little worried, he called out for the older.
But the boy was no where to be found, which caused a little panic to set in the younger. And to add to the mess, his phone was unreachable. Taehyung wracked his brain for quite some time to finally arrive to the conclusion that the Kim Namjoon must be at the library.
That's the only place that he would go, where it's required for your phone's to be on silent. Soon treading his way to the college library, Taehyung scanned through the place. Only to find his boyfriend with a book nearly drowsing from the lack of sleep.
"Hyungie! Joonie, come on. Let's go."
Taehyung whispered in the library not wanting to attract attention.
"But I have to study!"
Namjoon answered. He was startled on seeing the fluffy head there, but he was also adamant to study.
"Ohh! Come on."
Taehyung angrily pouted before crossing his arms.
Namjoon understood the drill, meaning further discussions and arguments are likely not to be taken by Taehyung. Stuffing his bag back with all the books, papers and writing supplements, he followed the shorter out to the garden.
"Now tell me what's so wrong that you had to interrupt my studying session?"
Namjoon asked with a stern expression.
"Oh you want to know hyung? Maybe all those salted coffee cups on your study table back home? Or your unpaired socks? Or even better your slouched body?"
Taehyung sassily replied, but the hidden toke of sadness and worry couldn't be erased. Namjoon instantly felt bad not for himself. Not for overworking himself. But for worrying the younger, who was supposed to be with his family. But Taehyung had given up on all that just to be with him.
"I'm sorry Tae."
Namjoon apologized. Taehyung couldn't stay mad no longer at the softie in from of him.
"Don't worry hyung, I just don't want you to study so hard that you'll harm yourself from lack of rest. I'll love you even if you aren't your best version. I'll love you even when you hate yourself. Just like you love me."
Taehyung grinned happily, their love confessions were mostly unexpected but heart warming for sure. Namjoon finally understood why he had fallen for this peculiar blond boy. It was the way he phrased it all just for it to fill his heart with love and comfort.
"Come on, treat's on me."
Taehyung ushered his tall nerdy boyfriend.
They reached the cheap downtown restuarant for an appetizing meal. Maybe not the most wonderful place to have your lunch, but spending it with the most precious person made it all worthy for Namjoon.
"The food was really good. Now where to?"
Namjoon asked after offering his handkerchief to Taehyung.
"Home."
Taehyung showed his boxy smile while wiping his mouth elegantly.
"Aw but I thought you wanted to have a date today?"
Namjoon asked. He felt guilty for already making Taehyung spend his day mindlessly.
"We did have a date! At the restaurant"
Taehyung beamed hooking his arm around the taller's bulk biceps. They made a greatastic comfy pillows to lie on for Tae.
"But-"
Namjoon broke out before being silenced by Taehyung's finger.
"No Interruptions. Just let's go home."
Taehyung spoke while following a beeline to Namjoon's apartment.
Soon reaching home, Namjoon glanced at his unkempt apartment. Now he understood even better from where his boyfriend voiced his concern. The salted coffee cups were still in his study table. His clothes and papers all crumbled and hanging off the bed or floor.
He felt ashamed of not keeping it nice enough for Taehyung. But the younger didn't seem to mind as he held onto Joon's shoulders while taking off his shoes. He was literally balancing all his weight on one foot and Namjoon.
Seeing Taehyung's antics of removing his shoes, Namjoon laughed at the younger. Both of them freshened up, given that the blond boy had his stuff in here as well. Taehyung spent most of the days in his boyfriend's apartment rather than his own dorm.
After changing to more comfier clothes, Namjoon snuggled with Taehyung all while when the other was looking for movies on the TV. Soon enough, Ice Age 5 made it on the screen with the same animated mammoths and toothed weasel. Within half an hour of the movie, Taehyung noticed that Namjoon had dozed off on his arm. Smiling to himself at the older's puffed up rosy cheeks, Taehyung pecked his forehead to get out of bed.
Taehyung let Namjoon sleep in his wonderland and switched off the TV. He slowly tucked the older under the covers to keep him warm. Even if he loved the comfortable bed to sleep in, Tae had bigger plans in his head. The biggest one being, completing Namjoon's work for him.
He knew it would be considered cheating, but if he could help the older from the stress of getting the report in time, then Tae was ready to risk it all. Risk it all for Namjoon. The tall boy was worth all the risk he was going to take. For he was precious.
Sitting down with this phone, Taehyung started with the report. It was kinda difficult, given it was of the next level. But Tae being a little more than good in understanding the concepts was able to get the work done in three hours.
Looking at the clock, it was hardly 5:30 in the evening, thus he decided to just just listen to some music while gazing outside from the balcony. It was his rewind time. Alone time while experiencing all the simple joys of life.
"Baby!!"
Namjoon's cheerful yell cut through the silent atmosphere.
"What happened hyung?"
Taehyung asked, not before removing his earplugs to see a dimpled smile right before his eyes.
"A magic fairy completed my report."
Namjoon jumped with excited beaming.
"Well, shouldn't you thank that fairy, instead of startling me?"
Taehyung grinned slightly fully knowing that it was him.
"Oh don't worry, I will thank the fairy with all my heart."
Namjoon smirked with a glint of mischief in his glimmering eyes.
"Joonie, noo.."
Taehyung ushered all while knowing that smirk on his boyfriend's face.
"Here comes the romantic version of tickle monster: kisses monster."
Namjoon tackled the younger on the ground all while pecking his beautiful face.
Ticklish from all the pecks and kisses, Taehyung laughed loudly. Namjoon knew that Taehyung had a weak spot for kisses. And that was how he decided to shower the other with love. Taehyung was a masterpiece, with ethereal eyes which could turn lethal in seconds, with a sharp nose yet a soft boop, with cheeks which were good to be devoured that had the leanest jawline. He was truly a masterpieces and Namjoon was all for appreciating the art.
"I love you."
Taehyung grinned widely, staring at the male on top of him. Namjoon looked beautiful and soft under the golden beams of sunrays. The setting sun had the best effect on his tan skin. The dimples which popped out while the older smiled made Taehyung's heart flip in circles.
"I love you too. Not because you completed my graduation report. Or dedicated a whole day just for me and my messed up self. But for always being with me no matter what. I want to love you forever, Kim Taehyung."
Namjoon replied while hugging the younger in an awkward position. But it didn't matter for the two who were hopelessly in love. The laughs had died down as the two cuddled each other's on the hard floor. But the ripples of laughter echoed in between the walls with pure excitement.
Joonie and Taetae are one of the most underrated ships. Very much like the fanfic Taehyung does pamper the leader.
