50K SPECIAL + Birthday.

A/N : this is a different universe where all had gone well and the two (Y/n and Alhaitham) and had returned back to Akademiya with great success.  They are also lovers in this plot!  Y/n managed to become the most respected scholar of the Vahumana and was second to the sage of Vahumana. Meanwhile, Alhaitham became the Grand Sage of Akademiya..

The story does not pertain to the main story at all ,it's just a thought.

 ༻ ♡ ♡ ♡ ༺

Why was it so silent today? The new acting Grand Sage asked himself as he noticed how quiet and tranquil the halls of Akademiya were.

He had been up earlier than usual, finishing his work up ever since five in the morning yet the silence that he has been blessed with seemed to go out for an eternity.

Although he appreciated the silence he was being awarded after a hectic load of work, he felt the silence was too quiet. It was a working day not to forget.

There hasn't been a single day that was this quiet ever since Alhaitham took up the position of the Grand Sage. Every day he had to deal with some or the other nonsense at Akademiya that included the chaos Kaveh brought in back at his home.

Though he deeply regretted one thing about his job. Not being able to meet you.

Despite the fact he was walking through the hallways of Akademiya, having nothing to do for the moment, he couldn't pay you a visit. The Vahumanas worshiped you constantly like a goddess for re-writing history as it was not an everyday occurrence.

You had so many lecture sessions to give out to the Young students of the Vahumana Darshan and you were really dedicated to it. Later in the afternoon, you would head towards Port Ormos to teach those children there personally at your own establishment.

During these hours he was too busy or you were too busy to even notice each other's presence and it has been going on since two or three weeks now.

"Grand Sage, Alhaitham. You have another meeting with the Am—" One of the assistants came informing him. before he could speak another word, Alhaitham cut off his sentence.

"Acting Grand Sage, might I correct you." Alhaitham said as his eyes gave a quick glance at the assistant. After the he had informed, Alhaitham was left alone in the hall ways.

He sighed heavily as he walked back towards his office, knowing little that a gift awaited him back at his house...

You, Kaveh and Faruzan were off work today.

.

.

"FARUZAN! THE FOOD GOT BURNT AGAIN!" You whined and slightly sobbed as you held the tray of burnt food, showing it off to Kaveh and Faruzan.

Kaveh only left a weary chuckle trying to not let your motivation down but mentally he was glad that he didn't let you bake the cake as he imagined the entire house burning down.

"It's fine! We can...redo that again..." he said as he brought out the ingredients again.

Faruzan who was exhausted from stacking up books and decorating the living room only sighed at your attempt in making dinner for the third time. She in fact, was dragged to help you but didn't mind helping out as Alhaitham was also from the same Darshan as her.

"I think...you did better than last time." Faruzan said as she forced a little smile on her face. It was hard for her to keep her head straight and smile while you were sobbing and making a fuss about it.

"B-But it's burnt...... and who knows I may be the worst partner who even forgot about her own partner's birthday...." you said in a muffled tone as you threw the burned food away.

"I'm not even slightly surprised about that." Kaveh said as he took out the cake he had baked.

You came to know it was Alhaitham's birthday yesterday evening when you ran into Kaveh at the house of Daena after a long exhausting day of teaching students. Only then did Kaveh remind you that day after tomorrow was his birthday.

A panicked you fortunately found Faruzan (unfortunately for her) on your way back home and told her about it all. Though she was old and clueless about relationships as they weren't the same as it was hundred years ago, she suggested you to plan a surprise party out. Just like she predicted, he had not a single clue when his own birthday was.

You again chopped up the ingredients with Kaveh's guidance and began cooking them again. At last after three whole attempts, you managed to make dinner. You were happy at the outcome while Faruzan and Kaveh seemed closed to passing out from being tired.

TIME SKIP : 12 AM.

Alhaitham finally made an escape from his office. He had a lot of work but he was beyond exhausted to deal with it, so he left without even informing a soul.

He walked through the empty streets of Sumeru towards his house which was not too far away. To not bore himself out, he held a book as he read through it on his trip back home.

Upon arriving at his house, he noticed that the lights were all turned off inside. He pulled his key out to unlock the door only to find the door was unlocked. He was a little startled but assumed Kaveh fell asleep without locking the door.

As he entered and turned on the lights, he saw a dinner table set in front of him, with a cake that was neatly decorated with fruits and a candle on it. He was surprised and remained in shock.

The three of you — Kaveh, you and Faruzan came out from behind the sofa, wishing him a birthday while the man stood there motionless as the house keys slipped off his hands.

"Hey! Are you even alive?" Kaveh asked as he looked at Alhaitham.

"I am rather a little too shocked to comprehend the situation." He replied back.

"..and that's Alhaitham for you two." Faruzan sarcastically remarked as she scoffed. While Faruzan and Kaveh expected some sort of excited reaction or at least a slightly happy reaction from Alhaitham, you laughed.

"How long has it been since you celebrated your own birthday?" You asked as you wiped your fake tears away. You understood he was in a deep state of shock.

Alhaitham casually replied as he got in and walked towards you, "When I was eight years old. The last time. Truth be told, I didn't remember this occasion. Don't be so beaten down by my reaction Kaveh and Faruzan."

"Yeah, Yeah, yeah you can remember blunders I do but forget your own birthday! Anyway since today is a good day for you I don't want to fight so, let us all indulge for a feast! and wine." Kaveh suggested as he raised a bottle of wine.

The dinner went amazing. Everyone kept talking about matters that they've encountered over the past few days at work and personal life. That included Kaveh and Alhaitham's slight arguments too...

Though Alhaitham didn't admit it, he was happy. He was happy that he had people who cared around him, sitting together across the table enjoying the food that was served. A feeling that he never had since childhood as he had spent most of the time alone with books.

Eventually Faruzan and Kaveh were so drunk that the two passed out with wine bottles in their hands on the sofa. You didn't want to drink as you would suffer from hangover and it would affect your schedule for tomorrow.

You were cleaning up the dishes as you didn't want Kaveh to wake up and find a whole stack of plates awaiting for him.

"Leave it there, I'll do it." Alhaitham said as he brought in the rest plates. After placing them down, he held you hand back from touching the dish washing liquid.

"It's fine, this is the least I can—" You were cut off with your words as he placed your hand on his face.

"Your hands are too soft, I'm afraid your hands would get too rough if you were to use that dish washing liquid. so let me do it." He said with a grin while you were so flustered by his sudden action that no words came out of your throat.

He eventually began washing the plates down as you wiped them with a cloth. The two of you had a great talk together after who knows so many weeks. Well mostly you talking and him listening.

He truly enjoyed your company.

"Thank you Y/n for today." Alhaitham said as he was done washing the plates. You tilted your head slightly towards your shoulder, giving him a confused stare.

"What for?" You asked curiously.

"For everything." He said as he placed a kiss on your lips. Which eventually led to a series of some great moments together throughout the night as two of your friends were completely knocked out by alcohol.

.

.

Only if these moments were real.

.

It still remains as a desperate moment, still lingering in someone's mind.

.

.

A moment that one of them so desperately wished that it had happened.

.

.

Yet it never did.
