~Lucky~
"Lucky, get out of bed already," my mother hollered frantically up the stairs.
I groaned and rolled over slowly, checking the time.
7:12. Shoot. I shot up and ran to my closet, tugging out any clean clothes and throwing them on. I attempted to quickly brush my hair, but gave up and headed downstairs.
Michael sat on the couch, eyeing me with a smirk. "Well you look like shìt," he laughed.
I rolled my eyes. "Thanks, captain obvious."
I turned towards the front door and swung it open, revealing Damian's rickety truck in the driveway.
"Hey, I thought I was supposed to drive you," Michael came up behind me.
"Nope, Damian is," I told him, popping the 'p'.
Michael's face scrunched uncomfortably. "I don't trust him."
I shrugged. "Since when did you care?"
"Since I met that guy," he rolled his eyes and headed to his car.
I sighed and jumped into Damian's truck. "Hey, pretty mama," he smirked with a low growl in his voice.
I winced at his tone, but shrugged it off. He talked like that often. "Hey, Dame."
He started backing out of my driveway, and snuck his hand to my thigh, squeezing it teasingly.
I stared out the window, and silently hoped he would move his hand. He didn't.
"So, do you wanna come to my place tonight?" he asked, the snake-like tone still evident.
I shook my head. "I have that English project to work on, remember?"
He rolled his eyes. "Come on, that can wait."
"No, I've been pushing it off for weeks. I'm gonna actually work on it tonight," I told him. "Plus, my mom knows about it, so she won't let me leave."
"Can't you just sneak out?" he whined desperately as we pulled into the school parking lot.
"Do you want me to be grounded for life?" I eyed him as I hopped out of the truck.
He shrugged and came to the passenger side of the truck. Damian smirked and grabbed my face, kissing me sloppily against the shut door. He slipped his tongue into my mouth, occasionally grazing my teeth. He tasted of alcohol, and reeked of it underneath all of the cheap cologne. I pulled away gently, much to Damian's dismay.
"Come on," I reasoned. "We'll be late."
He came up behind me and we walked into the school together. Most couples at our school would walk in hand-in-hand, which was cute. Damian instead decided he'd walk in with his hand on my butt.
Damian made me uncomfortable a lot, but I always told myself that I loved him. I knew I did, deep down.
Damian groped me one last time before kissing me goodbye and heading to his class.
A pair of hands covered my eyes from behind me, and I heard a quiet giggle. "Guess who!"
I thought for a second before smiling. "Ashton," I said confidently.
The hands uncovered my eyes and the blonde-brunette walked around to my front. "You got me again!" he sighed, smiling.
"Well when you do it everyday, it's pretty predictable," I laughed.
Ashton shrugged and walked with me to my locker.
"So, did you do anything fun this weekend?" he asked, leaning against some kid's locker.
I shrugged. "Not much. Studied for exams, and watched a bit of the Simpsons."
Ashton dropped his jaw sadly. "Without me?" he sniffed jokingly.
"Sorry about that," I laughed and patted him on the shoulder. "Next time."
He smiled and nodded confidently before we both went our separate ways. I sprinted down the hall to home room, the bell ringing as I entered.
"You're late again, Ms. Clifford," Mrs. Arnold's monotone voice repeated, as she had most days this year.
I groaned and flopped into my desk. "Can't you just let it slide this once, Miss?"
Mrs. Arnold glared at me with a blank stare. "No."
I rolled my eyes and pulled out my notebook to start doodling as the teacher began to go through everything that was happening this week. I pretty much tuned out.
"And this week, we have a new student," she announced.
I looked up to see a brunette boy standing up to walk towards the front of the class.
"This is Deo," she informed us. "He's come all the way from Ireland. What a charmer, huh girls?"
Deo's cheeks began to stain crimson, and he looked down at his feet.
He seemed cute.
"Make sure to help him feel welcome," Mrs. Arnold told us he walked back to his seat.
"What a dork," a voice behind me murmured.
I turned around, facing Michael's friend, Luke.
"What was that for?" I whisper-yelled.
He shrugged. "He seems kinda dorky."
I rolled my eyes, "No, he's cute! Don't tease him, it's his first day."
Luke smirked. "Someone's got a crush," he sang.
"What? No, I have a boyfriend, Luke."
"And an overprotective brother! Just wait until I tell Mike!"
I huffed. "Please don't tell Michael."
Luke's eyes widened in amusement. "So you do like Dork!"
"No!" I groaned, turning back around.
Luke pokes my neck. "Lucky's got a crush!"
"Stop it Luke," I muttered.
"Mr. Hemmings and Ms. Clifford! Hallway, now." Mrs. Arnold barked.
"But-" Luke tried to object.
"Don't try to reason with me today, Luke. Two of you in the hallway. Separate desks!"
I slowly stood up and walked out to the hallway, Luke following behind me. We sat at the two separate desks, and sighed.
"Why did she have to specify separate desks?" Luke pondered aloud.
"Maybe some couples use this as an excuse to get close," I chuckled quietly.
Luke nodded. "We should mess with Mrs. Arnold."
I drew my eyebrows together. "What?"
"Like pretend we're a couple and share a desk or something. She'll be pissed."
I shook my head. "No, Luke. That's weird."
"Come on, Lucky, it'll be funny!"
"No."
"It's so boring out here, what else are we gonna do?" he whined.
"Sit out here quietly like we're supposed to."
Luke was quiet for a moment, before his face lit up. "It'll get back at your brother."
I smirked. Michael kissed my best friend when we were in eighth, and that friend left me to date Michael. They didn't last more than a week, but she never came back to be friends with me. I still hold that against Michael.
"If that's our reasoning," I caved in.
"Yes! This is gonna be hilarious," Luke grinned widely.
I hesitantly sat on Luke's lap awkwardly.
"Jesus, you have a bony butt," Luke complained.
"Shut up, you came up with this."
Suddenly, we heard the clicking of Mrs. Arnold's heels heading towards the door. Luke and I stared at each other like deer in headlights, before I nodded in confirmation that we could do this. We quickly leaned forward into each other, our eyes shut. I led my hands to the nape of his neck as our lips moved in sync.
Mrs. Arnold better get out her quickly, I thought to myself. It would get awkward soon if she didn't.
Luke kept his arms steadily around my waist. I attempted to move my leg over him so I didn't sit sideways. I now straddled him awkwardly. He tightened his grip on me and pulled me in closer. I brought my arms up to play with his hair a bit.
That's when we heard the door open.
i love this i'm sorry if this is weird because it's a calum fic and he ain't here yet and lucky has already made out with two other guys but this was fun to write because i don't write kissing scenes often. although i hates writing the damian scene.
love you!
