Their first kiss as a married couple earned a round of applause and hoots from the crowd watching them. The two shared a laugh and smiled into their kiss. Without pulling away, Clary looked up into her husbands eyes and he put their foreheads together, wanting to cherish every second of their first moment as a married couple.
"I have a secret." Clary smiled, biting her lip as she closed her eyes. "I'm pregnant."
"Oh fuck." Emmett groaned and pulled away. Clary opened her eyes as she laughed loudly, Emmett turning the two of them to face the crowd. "We're having another baby!" He grinned. His family paled at the news while hers appeared overjoyed.
It was a dysfunctional moment but that was how their time as a couple usually went. One dysfunctional moment at a time. And a new baby would be something they would just have to face again.

Her screams echoed throughout the house. Sweat dripped down her face mixing with her tears, her cheeks blotchy and lips pulled back in a grimace, eyes clenched shut as she pushed through the pain. Charlie held her left hand, his eyes frantic as he tried not to cry as his youngest gave birth again. Emmett stood to her right, a damp cloth in his hand as he wiped away at her face.
"Almost there," Carlisle encouraged her. She should've felt shy, awkward maybe, as her father in law knelt between her open legs, his hands helping guide her next child out of her body. "One more, you can do it Clary."
She gave one final push, grunting through it. She collapsed against the bed as she felt his body leave her. His cries echoed around the room, his little fists clenched tight and legs trembling. He was much bigger than Eli had been, shorter in length but much bulkier. Esme helped Carlisle wipe him off before they handed him to Clary with loving smiles on each of their faces. The blonde female eagerly reached for him, holding his body close.
"Proud of you baby," Emmett kissed her head, wiping her face, staring adoringly at his new son.
"What're you naming him?" Clary looked and met her Dad's stare, a tender smile on her face.
"Charles Eros Cullen." Charlie sobbed at the name, coughing to hide his reaction. He sniffled and placed a loving kiss on her forehead, cherishing the moment. "Baby Chase."
"Welcome to the family," they all smiled at the baby, the best new addition to their bunch.
"Em," Clary trailed off, her eyes drifting shut. Charlie was quick to grab Chase as Carlisle and Emmett fussed over Clary. Esme led him out of the room, his heart sinking as he realized what was happening.
"Baby, stay with me," Emmett begged, his mind racing as he tried to keep her awake.
"You have to do it now Emmett," Carlisle's words were rushed, on the verge of panicking as Jasper pushed into the room. Emmett wasted no time and sunk his teeth into her neck, pulling back and wiping his mouth as they waited for the venom to take. "It's not working," Carlisle whispered, eyes blown wide and guilt filling his body.
"No, no, no it has to." Emmett bit her again. "Clary, come on, please," he bit her wrist, her hand, her arm. Nothing worked. "Why isn't it fucking working!"
"Emmett,"
"No! It has to fucking work!" Jasper reached for his brother, the two of them collapsing to the floor as Emmett pushed against him. "Fuck!" Emmett sobbed. His shaking body latched onto his younger brother's, the blond feeling his pain. "Please," he mumbled into his shirt. "Kill me too."
"Emmett," Carlisle sat beside his sons. "Your boys need you."
"No, they need her!" He picked his head up and pointed to where Clary laid. "She's the fucking Mom! They don't need me."
"They do. You're all they have left," Dom voiced, him and Edward coming into the room to support their brother. "They need you man."
"I need her," Emmett cried. None of the males said anything, each of them grieving the loss of the blonde. Clary was the love of Emmett's life, his mate, but she'd been like a sister to the rest. Their family would never be whole again.
She was gone. Clarissa Cullen was dead.

"Can you tell us about her?" Emmett smiled at his two sons as the three of them gathered around the angel statue they visited every year, at least once a week.
"I think I've run out of stories." He smiled gently at his youngest son. It didn't surprise when Chase was born that he came out looking like another copy of Clary. At first the sight of the baby made him break down, for the first couple of years of the kids life he wasn't the best father but he tried his hardest. And eventually, the three of them became inseparable. "Try asking Sam or Jacob, any of the pack for some. They have the funniest ones."
"How did you two meet?" He turned his attention to his other son, his oldest Eli. He watched the boy frown deeply, reaching out to wrap his arm around his younger brother's shoulders. The two boys before him were thick as thieves. Never spending more than a day apart.
"In art class. She called me a smartass." The three of them broke out into laughter, each of them missing the sarcastic blonde woman.
"I wish i knew her, " Chase announced. "Sucks I'll never get to."
"She left us too soon. But she's not really gone. As cliche as it sounds, she's still alive in each of you." And as Emmett observed his two boys, he knew wasn't lying.
He could see more and more of Clary in them. Eli had her attitude, her compassion for everyone around her. Chase had her spunk, her inability to walk without tripping over herself. Clary's best and worst qualities lived on in his boys and it was like she never truly left.
"It's been eight years and each year gets a little easier. In ten years, it won't hurt so much." He assured them.
"We know." The boys replied in unison.
"Did I ever tell you two about the time she tried to kill Jacob?" The boys instantly shook their heads and the three of them sat on the bench seated conveniently across from the statue. They sat there for hours reminiscing and none of them noticed when the sun went down and the sky turned black for a light shone on them every minute of that day. First the sun perched high above them and then a single bright star lighting up the area around them.
For even though they all lost the one person they loved the most, she was still their light guiding their way, watching over them as they all lived on.
"Do you think you'll ever love somebody else?" Eli asked Emmett, both boys anxiously waiting for his answer. "I think she'd be okay if you did."
"She was it for me boys. There'll never be somebody else." Emmett sighed softly though the exhale was unnecessary. "For as long as I live, your Mom will be the only woman I'll love and want."
"Do you think we'll ever see her again? You know, when we die?"
"I have high hopes that we will." He smiled. And he did. They all had an ending and he had hope that his ended with her waiting for him wherever he's sent.
