ch. 01
A/n: the pic above is your fury form.
☁︎meeting a night fury, and it's tamed?☁︎
I woke up and stretched. Today I was going to an island called Berk. An island full of dragons and Vikings that went well together. I do not believe in that, so I checked it out myself. I flew out of my cave and towards where one of my best friends in this kingdom was. "hey Cosmos," a deadly purple nadder greeted me as I laned in front of her cave. I nodded at her with a small smile. "hello, Violet. How's shot training going?" I asked, sitting down beside her, licking my front paw to clean it. Violet shrugged. "as good as it can, I guess. My teacher is strict, but that's all. So I heard from some terrores that you're going to be leaving the kingdom again." I nodded at her words. "yeah, I've heard bout an island with Vikings and dragons living together. I know this is absurd, but I have to see for myself. They also said that there was a special dragon from our kingdom. A night fury, I believe." I said. Violet nodded.
"well, it's time you find someone of your kind; even tho he isn't a shifter nor a king, he could still be good. And he's pure-blooded," she said and stood up, stretching her dotted wings. You see, Violet is a rare colored Deadly nadder. Sure there are purple nadders, but you understand that she's more purple than the usual purple hue. she has almost dark purple scales, and her stomach is entirely white. So yeah, a rare colored indeed. This kingdom has all types of dragons. Rare, familiar, and hybrid's, but that's even rarer than the rare ones. and I am their queen. Oh, you probably heard that it was a shifter. That means I can take the form of different dragons, and fury is one of them. It's like a night fury. Yeah, all my forms are cosmos colored. And my eyes are blue, so yeah. I'm one of the few with that color, well, except for the light furies.
"Cosmos?" Violet said, bringing me out of my thoughts. I shook my head and looked at her. she smiled a dragon smile. "when will you leave for the island?" she asked. "tonight, I want to use the night sky as my advantage even tho my scales don't fit; in but still." Violet nodded and curled up. "well, you can stay. I will sleep anyway." she then closed her eyes and fell asleep. I went out of her cave, deciding to take a fly around until it was time to go.
Flying to the island I had started on a few hours ago. It took longer than I thought, but our kingdom was hidden away from the inner islands cause of our dragon razes. I took a deep sigh and sunk to the water, where a thunder drum greeted me with a splash. I chuckled and cooed at him before adding more strength to my blows and rose higher. Soon I could smell the smell of humans, so that must mean I was close. I flew faster, and soon I could see the outline of an island. I was close now. Sooner or later, I was near enough to steer into the forest. I would check out the human village tomorrow; for now, I was tired and needed rest.
I landed in the forest and found a good spot to sleep at a cove. It had water, fish, and trees to sleep on. So I ruffled my wings, went to the closest tree, and lashed my tail onto it, so I hung like a bat from it. Soon I drifted to sleep.
-toothless's pov-
I woke up in Hiccup's house. He was still asleep. I wasn't awake until a new smell filled my nose. It smelled like a night fury! But different and more... authoritarian. I whined and stood up, heading for Hiccup. I couldn't still fly without him, but I was okay with it. As long we were together. "what's up toothless?" he asked in a groggy voice, patting my snout. I cried again and nudged his hand. "I'm up," He said and stood up. I groaned and gestured to the door, so he understood that I wanted out. "oh, just wait," he said and started to dress. I waited patiently, and when he was done, he got onto my back, and we went out. "so where you wanna fly today, bud?" he asked, scratching my chin. I hummed, spreading my wings taking off to the way they smell came.
It led to the old cove, the one I had crashed into when I met hiccup for the first time. Why was a dragon there? And let alone a fury? My questions had to wait. We soon reached the cove, and I landed. Hiccup jumped off my back, and I started to search for the dragon. I suddenly saw something glimmer in the sunlit and got curious. When I sniffed it, I suddenly saw it was a wing. I jumped back in surprise when the dragon retreated its wings, and I widened my eyes when I was met with two ocean blue ones. It was indeed a night fury—only different scale color. The fury stared back at me until I could not manage its intensity.
-Cosmos's pov-
I was supplied when two green eyes met me. A night fury, the night furies in the hidden world also had moss green eyes, so I could easily see that it was a night fury. I backed away when I saw the human getting near the fury. It was a male, and he seemed oaky having the human there. I tilted my head in confusion. I didn't hate humans; I just didn't understand them. "wow," I heard the boy say as he stared at me. I gave a soft coo and titled my head even more, my blue eyes shining in confusion. the human boy then got out of his shock and tried to touch my snout. I got curious and let him come closer as I sniffed on his hand gently. "you can trust him," the night fury said, and I trusted him.
Slowly, I moved my snout, so the boy's hand was touching it. I closed my eyes and immediately started to bond with this boy. Okay, that's all kid fo weird. A dragon bonding with a human? Yeah, that screams weird. I opened my eyes and stared into the boy's green eyes. I noticed he had almost the same color as the night fury. what a coincidence. "what's your name?" the boy asked, of course not waiting for some answer-back. "I'm cosmos, yours?" the young and thin boy jumped back in surprise. "y-you can talk?" I nodded. Even the night fury was confused that I could talk in his master's language. "well, I'm Hiccup, and this is toothless," the boy, Hiccup, said and gestured to the male night fury. Toothless? Weird name for a dragon.
I nodded in answer. "this is berk, right?" I asked, and Hiccup nodded. "yeah. Wanna meet my friends?" I shrugged. If this boy isn't bad, why would his friends be?
