WHAT HAPPENED?

Aryss knew she owed them an explanation at least. "What happened? If you loved us so much then why did you leave?" Druig asked. "After many massacres and many world ending times I decided I had enough" she took a deep breath. "But, I knew, deep down that no matter how much you loved me you still held so much loyalty to your family and Arishem" she looked away remembering that day.

"We spoke about leaving the eternals and having our own family" she looked at Ikaris. "You told me that no matter how much you loved me, you could and would never leave the eternals" Ikaris looked away. He didn't remember her completely but he knew she was as important her and Thena said she was to him. "Druig told me he loved me but that he wanted to complete his mission first. He even tried to use his mind control to keep me with him forever" Druig's hard gaze never left her.

"I should've known better than to ask you that. I was a fool to believe you would leave the eternals for me. No matter what, your loyalty to Arishem and his purpose came first, even before me. And I knew it would come before our children. And in the end, I knew you would forget us, just like you did before. Arishem erased your memory even when I begged him not to. He knew the risk and he was not willing to take it" she explained.

The room was quiet for sometime before Aryss got up and walked out. Ikaris and Druig followed. "Aryss, please" Ikaris begged. "Please, you have to understand" he told her. She scoffed. "Understand what? That you didn't love me enough? Because trust me, I understood that, very loud and very clear" she stated. She felt tears threatening to fall. Druig tried to easy her mind but she wouldn't let him in. "Stop!" she yelled. "We can't fix this, not anymore" she told them.

"It was stupid of me to think that maybe, just maybe you would remember me. I knew it was nearly impossible but a part of me still had hope. I hoped that Arishem wouldn't erased your memories of me. I hoped that your love for me was so strong that it would stop Arishem's power. I was a fool" she wiped her tears away. Druig made the first move. He reached out for her hand. He waited, he thought she wouldn't go along but to his surprise she did. When she touched their hands they felt some sort of connection. A familiar feeling.

"Did you get enough love, my little loves?" she whispered. They had tears running down. "Why do you cry?" she sang. "I'm sorry I left, but it was for the best, though it never felt right" she finished. "I didn't want to leave but I knew that somehow it was for the best. I know you love them" she room a deep breath. It felt like a breakup.

"I just hope you're happy with them. My little loves. Why do you cry?" she asked. "Because, even though we love them, we're not in love with them" Druig said and Ikaris nodded in agreement. Makkaei and Sersei hearing everything. She smiled, but both girls could tell it was a sad smile. "It's how it was supposed to, since the beginning. You and them. In love for all eternity" she told them. "We almost had it all" she told them. "We could have had it all" she let go of their hands and walked away.
