Y/N's POV

I watched as everyone said their goodbyes, hugging Jake and wishing him well, telling him to come back soon. Jake looked at me after and I smiled softly, we headed out the front door.

Walking in silence to the loop enterance, and he was just about to leave before I stopped him.

"You are going to come back right?" I mumbled softly, it seemed so much louder as it echoed off of the cave walls.

"Most definitely."

"Promise? I don't want this to go how it did with your grandfather." I looked at the floor, a bit angry at myself for bringing it up. "I'm sorry, that was selfish of me."

He stepped closer to me, grabbing my chin and making me look up at him, "No it wasn't, what my grandfather did wasn't necessarily right. He promised you all he would come back and he didn't, I'm not going to be that way."

I pulled him into a hug, wrapping my arms tightly around his torso. A few tears slipping from my eyes. He rubbed my back, tracing up and down with his fingers.

"Okay, I will let you go now." I sniffled, pulling away.

"Goodbye Y/N."

I waved, and watched him walk back towards the loop exit. I couldn't just let him go.

Grabbing fistfull's of my dress I began to run towards him, "Jake!" I called out.

He spun around just in time for me to reach him. Breathing heavily I examined his face for a moment. Meeting his eyes, I grabbed his face and pulled him down to me. Connecting our lips, it took him a minute but they moved in sync after he came to his senses. Tangling my hands in his hair as his hands went to my waist. His hands squeezed lightly and I tugged gently on his roots.

Pulling away slowly he had a goofy lopsided smile on his face.

"I could just stay I mean-"

"Goodnight Jake." I giggled, watching him grin and leave.
