🌛 I need time

Warning: this might break your hearts. Reader discretion is advised.

"You honestly think I wanted this?!"

"I don't know, did you?!"

The argument was ridiculous, as some would say. After Mark and Sunmi had been exposed by dispatch, SM had no other choice but to confirm their relationship. Regrettably so. Because they knew how the two wanted to keep everything under the radar until they were ready.

But Dispatch couldn't have caught them at better time.

Mark had been going through piled up stress. That and worrying about the comeback, going from NCT to SuperM, he suddenly felt homesick and he was dealing with getting sick because of all of this. So he needed time to get away from the group and just talk to someone.

So he asked Sunmi, his girlfriend who was his best friend before this, to talk to him at Han River. He really needed someone to listen to him and she just so happen to be the best candidate.

He didn't gun on Dispatch following them and he sure as hell didn't think they would get exposed like that, completely losing control of everything he held close to him. And that included Sunmi.

And when Mark feels like he lost control, he tends to fly off the handle and take it out on the next available person.

And that person happens to be Sunmi.

Which started this huge and hurtful word battle between the two. And one that no one saw coming.

"Are you seriously implying that I had anything to do with Dispatch following us?! Are you out of your head?!" Sunmi yelled back.

One thing she would never do was jeopardize anything for the group or for whoever she's in a relationship with. It was never in her character.

But Mark just kept looking at her with dark eyes. Dark rings were around his eyes, he looked like he needed to sleep and he looked completely stressed.

"Well, it seems to me that I can't trust anyone nowadays." He said angrily. "Not even my own girlfriend."

Sunmi paused, feeling a pang of hurt shoot through her veins. Those words really hurt. Like hell.

"Mark, you're not yourself right now." She spoke, pushing that feeling aside. Not wanting to show him weakness. "You're stressed and I get it but-"

"Oh, you get it?!" He scoffed, as if she could know what he's going through. "Please, you don't get it. Everything is so perfect in your little world.

Perfect little Sunmi. I'm SMs favorite, I could do no wrong. I don't have to worry about stress because I am SMs favorite. As if you could know an ounce of what I'm going through."

Rage started to rise in her. Rage and the urge to hit him in the face. How dare he say something like that to her? How dare he think she doesn't know how it feels to be under this amount of pressure?! He was acting like he was the only one in this group who wasn't affected by this.

He was being really selfish and she knows he wouldn't be saying this had not Dispatch exposed them like that. But that didn't mean he could spill his anger at her. Someone who was also going through this.

"Look, Lee Minhyung, I am also going through this just like you!" She yelled, poking his shoulder hard. "I know what it's like to have everything piled on top of you, just like you and just like everyone else in this damn group.

For you to selfishly act like you're the only one who is going through hard work is pathetic! And frankly, I don't want to know anyone who acts like that!"

"SO THEN LEAVE!" Mark screamed, making her jump. "LEAVE AND YOU WON'T HAVE TO! BECAUSE, HONESTLY, THIS ISNT WORKING AND YOU'RE NOT WANTED RIGHT NOW ANYWAYS.!"

Tears began falling as she stared at him. He didn't mean it. He was just stressed. That was it. He was stressed.

"Y-You don't mean that." She said, holding back a sob. "I'm only trying to help-"

"Oh great, you're crying." He mumbled, coldly. "When things get tough you want cry like usual. Go cry somewhere else, I don't have time for-"

Smack!!

That sound echoed through the halls of the SM building. Sunmi slapped Mark across the face and even though she instantly regretted it, she was too angry and hurt to say anything type of apologies.

Not even when he looked at her with such shock in his eyes.

Tears flowing out of her eyes, she viciously spoke. "Fuck you, Mark. . . . Don't ever talk to me again. . . . Not until you come to your fucking mind."

With that, she swiftly turned away and stormed off the opposite direction, quietly sobbing as she went. But paused as she saw Jeno, Jungwoo and Xiaojun staring at her with sympathy in their eyes.

The three had heard everything that was said ( who wouldn't? They were telling at each other. ) And they saw her slap him super hard.

Embarrassed but not wanting them to know, she straightened her face and just walked through them, not even looking back. Not even wiping her tears away.

Though she would appreciate their concern, she didn't need anyone giving her pity or sympathy. She didn't need anything at the moment.

But to get away from Mark as soon as possible before she ended up saying something ten times as hurtful as he did.

"Sunmi, you're leaving?!"

About 4 hours after the argument, Sunmi made the quick decision to leave the dorm for a couple of days. She was too stressed and angry to be anywhere near Mark that didn't have anything to do with group activities.

She couldn't stay in the dorm knowing the animosity that was in the air. Which can cause tension in the group. And that is the last thing she wanted to do to them.

"Y-You can't just leave, Sunmi!" Yuta stuttered out, watching her pack a huge bag.

"Watch me." She mumbled, zipping up her bag.

Yuta had heard about their argument from Jeno, who rushed to warn everyone in the group about it. So now everyone knew about her leaving the dorm. Yuta was the first to get home in time.

"Look, I know what happened is causing problems for you two but leaving isn't the better option." He tried to reason with her. "I'm sure Mark didn't mean what he said. Maybe if you talked to him-"

"I've tried talking to him!" Sunmi nearly growled out. Angry tears once again falling from her eyes. "And he threw it back on my face! I'm not talking to him until he fucking realizes that the world isn't against him. Not even me!"

She picked up her bag and pushed past him. Yuta quickly followed her.

"Sunmi-ah, please just listen to me."

"I have done nothing but be there for him and everyone in this group. . . . .and this is what I get?!" She spun around to face him.

"I'm tired of being everyone's punching bag! I'm sick of trying to show him that I am here for him, only to get everything thrown back at me!! I'm tired of Dispatch! I'm tired of everything and I need to stay away.

"He can figure it out on his own now, I won't be here to help ever again!"

Yuta couldn't say anything but to watch her leave out of that door, slamming it behind her.

He sighed loudly, running his fingers through his hair. This was bad. This was very bad.

He knew he had to tell everyone about this but apart of him didn't want to. Sunmi was right to feel this way but he felt like her leaving wouldn't solve anything.

This group couldn't work without her or Mark or anyone else.

Dreading it, he called Taeyong.

"Yuta, is Sunmi okay?"

"Sunmi left the dorm and I don't know where she's going."
