sophcarter: i have some things to address why i've been totally absent from everyone's lives since july. this isn't just for you guys, its also for my friends and family. i abandoned you, too.
i've always had an issue with substance abuse since i had my first zoot as a 16 year old naïve girl in california. i thought, recently, that i got it under control. i was clean for a total of 2 years, 7 months and 19 days. but parties are dangerous, and all i had was one line, n suddenly i was in the same spiral as i was before.
as soon as my once loving and beautiful relationship with my oliver broke down, i knew i had to get it under control. i knew i had to pay karma a visit, and that's how i ended up in nevada (not vegas pls) for a 6 month stint in rehab.
i know my demons that i have to face, who's to blame for my breakdown. but i'm back slowly.

"Come on, we need to see Sophie. She's at home, I've packed some toiletries, food, clothes, slippers-" Scarlett rants, filling a large overnight bag full of essentials for Sophie. She didn't know how to react, thus not knowing how to act.

Mostly, Scarlett was in shock. She knew Sophie had returned to rehab, but she didn't think it was that bad. It hurt Scarlett to know that Sophie couldn't confide in her enough to share her issues, but what was important was that she's here for her now.

"Baby, you need to go and see Sam and Harry. You promised you'd be there. I'll go." Theo assures her, taking the bag from her shoulder, leaving Scarlett more confused. She knew that Theo and Sophie were once a couple, but that was 2 years ago-she moved after the two broke up, and then she became close with Oliver and Scarlett.

"What? Do you think a stupid birthday party is more important than my best friend? No! I'm going." Scarlett insisted, feeling slightly cross with her fiancé. This was her best friend, not his.

But Theo rolled his eyes, needing Scarlett to go to the party alone that night. "Babe, they're expecting you there. And they're like your brothers who you haven't seen in months! Just drop off a present, say hello, and meet me back at Soph's, ok?" He gently soothes Scarlett, and he saw her face become more convinced by the second.

"Okay." She sniffs, using a spare tissue from the box to wipe her eyes and slow down her rapid breathing.

"Can you drop me at Tom's parent's, then?"

Theo smiles, too joyous to be believeable, but Scarlett didn't see it, her shock concealing her sight. "Of course my love."

While Theo drove to the road where Scarlett grew up for her whole childhood, Scarlett nervously held the gift bag for her favourite twins that was once a bag for Sophie, which Theo kept in the boot of the car.

She kissed Theo goodbye tenderly, walking up to the front door of Tom's childhood home, which was dark and muffled a loud sort of indie music, but felt very alone, the only thought she had on her mind was her friend.

Sam opened the door, and immidiately Scarlett swapped her frown to a bright smile, handing him his present before hugging and kissing his cheeks.

"Happy birthday, Sam! Where's the other one?" She asks quickly, eyes darting around the dark lounge she recognised so well, looking for not only Harry, but also Tom.

Sam points to a fluff of ginger hair that stood out in the darkness, and Scarlett rushes towards him, and Tom was convieniently stood next to his younger brother.

"Harry! Long time no see, welcome to the late twenties club." She smirks, handing Harry his present as he thanks her with a warm hug.

"I can't believe you came! I thought you'd be with your friend." He smiles, and Scarlett shuffles stiffly, which Tom promptly noticed, mouthing an 'are you okay?' to her.

She pulls Tom away from Harry, and resumes the frown that she'd been so desperate to let go.
"Can you take me to Sophie's? I just only came to say hello to the twins-"

Tom interrupts her with a warm, envoloping hug, feeling her rest herself in his collarbone.
"Of course, Scar. Let's go together. I want to see how Soph is, too."
