- The Lone Tear -

. PART 2 .

'That is sudden but hey, at least he has some pleasantries to ask. And as for me, I have company, a boat ride.' Chae-Yeong mulled and to her pleasure, the night turned beautifully, with a stunning lad by the side, nothing spicy, everything was sweet. Later, they even went to get some quenchers together.

The bass speakers were in full volume, and with a DJ,  the coterie was lit with people, dancing, drinking, and pleasuring. Chae-Yeong jumped into the throng like a child and had remarkable fun. She leaped here and there, at him and the floor, wherever suitable. Swaying her hips to the beat drop, bobbing her head as they played "Daechawita' she sang loud along with Tae, who had matching fun with her.

Drowsy and glossy in tiredness, Tae led her to a club stool. Plopping on the drink desk, she beamed. “What would you like miss?” a bartender asked,

“Whiskey”

“Light?”

“Nah, to fire” she replied, as the bartender turned back, Her lips reached her ears, then suddenly everything grew dark.

She was not senseless, definitely not. Drunk? yes, tipsy? Hardly not. She heard the shuffling sound, followed by the cries of women. It was a power cut. Drunk women were getting stupefied as they swung around and whack someone who yell after them. The lights were out but the coterie was still noisy.

“Tae!” she called, plopping off the seat, she shuffled her hands in the air, but all she felt was nothing, not even the cold whiff. She moved her hands to the side, calling “Tae..” again. This time she successfully caught his hard hands. She gripped onto them as Tae brought his hands around her back, and they moved into the populace.

People shoved and pushed them in queasy, as they screamed and wailed. Then everything stopped. Pitch silent followed by sudden gasps. As they moved further, Chae-Young strumbled onto something and fell down, severing their hands. Tae called out for her again and tried to mingle in the sweaty crowd to find her again, one minute passed and banged to a couple few minutes before the lights lit up again,

The dark vibrant lights flickered as Tae called out, “Chae-Yeong, where are you?” he called, as his instincts booted in implying something nasty awaits him.

The lights went off again and now shone in eye burning white yellow shine. Tae fluttered his eyes, blinking to adjust to the rays. His eyes came into the vision of an apparent club. Nothing to move.  His eyes scanned the club as it looked down, he was petrified

Venting breath in the overwhelming adrenaline pump. Tae was located among thirty more people who were now deceased. Immobile, totally with no vitality. Tae quivered, as his knees went weak, and his hand shook.  His eyes were frozen. Looking at the bloody spectacle around him. He could hear his heart, with cold sweats beading down his forehead. Tae was thrillingly terrorized.

Women and men lying down, with blood trickling from their mouths and nails, a bloodstained pool in the middle of the sea, in the middle of the lonely night. Tae's hand held a knife that fell 'clink 'onto the ground as he looked horrendous, security and other guards hurried into the club room, with guns.

"Hands up and move back," a guard commanded, while Tae stood still, with their firearms armed and pulled to the front, the men gradually proceeded towards Tae whose eyes gaped at the silent sea. His lips curved into a ridiculous sly smile, and his eyes grew distant and lost.

A guard conveniently called on them and informed them, "Sir, A yacht boat is missing," upon hearing this,  Tae let out a bitter chuckle, 'She left' he mumbled to himself as he was dragged away.

The whole night exploded in chaos, silence denying to resolve, as the winds bemoaned, the waves danced to his steaming mind, the winds shrieked in agony, as it ripped off anything faint above the floor, throwing it away as if nature was echoing his displeasure and umbrage.

He was never wrong but was wronged.

The working crew of the ship ran to the higher-up, the officer, who had a harsh grip on Tae’s shoulders, squeezing them hard, yet all Tae let was a whiff.

“Sir. The sea won’t stop her conduct, she is furious. She is rising eleven to twelve meters high, with currents picking up to 70-80 knots. It is about a cyclone force of the wind on land, we can’t even depart the crisis yachts, as with a woosh, it would knock them out,  we have to do something, Sir.  Something before Layla breaks.” he exhorted the importance.

“One after another!” the officer huffed, “Clasp his cuffs somewhere. I shall go talk with the captain myself.”

The captain came running, as he spoke, “ Sir, this cruise has a 60 percent chance to survive the storm,  we can only hope for the better.

Even if we survive, we are in the middle of the ocean, with no landform for about a thousand miles. Someone has obliterated all our food and unclogged the cruise warehouse! Our survival after the storm is highly feasible. We are scarce on everything.

Goodness Gracious! A half-quarter part of the passengers is thankfully dead. Yet, the ship can provide for only twenty-seven people now.” he proclaimed.

“The captain, my men, and I would be around twenty-seven,” the officer remarked.

“Sir! What about hanging around passengers?” the skipper asked, alarmed,

“You know better Captain, This is for the better. My pals will be equal to the commoners we can save. The government will commemorate us for saving a few subjects. I can also drop a few men. Hurry up” he murmured in the captain’s ear.

The sharp glazing raindrops rapped on the ground in a fashion, as the officer gave orders. “Kill the passengers”

“Sir, what about him?” a soldier pointed at Tae, the officer went near him and grabbed him by his roots, “He wrecked our food, can we wreck him to the sharks?” he asked, Tae for once looked at the officer, he defied to move when the other troopers shoved him to the ship’s side.

Pressing his neck out, with his hands cuffed at back, under the stuffing rain, Tae writhed to escape, reprimanding the god for his demise, his hands caught something that he grasped tightly.

As the group of men raised him to push him out, his hands clasped onto the railing.

He didn’t want to be stepped upon again.

He seized hold of one soldier’s neck, pulling it as the man’s gold chain fell into the gigantic mouth of the sea, “Fucker” he swore as he pulled his hand out, pushing Tae’s chest, his lower abdomen on top of the barriers, the night made it formidable to see.

Heck using pistols, they were asked not to use the guns out in the open, since they may stupidly and unknowingly shoot one another.

Tae’s left hand again held, but this time, the soldier’s hand, pulling him along, with a wide smile, fell into the sea.

His body fell in-depth into the cold sea, and his head struck the gravel, knocking his sense, self-awareness bloomed.

Somehow he wished to endure, he wriggled his cuffs, whetting the chains on the rock, he broke them and swam to the surface. Catching the view of the cruise, the troopers were fighting themself, throwing and dashing, firing in the mid-sea at nothing, willy-nilly.  He was taking long breaths, with every breath letting out the cold air from his body, the water was ice cold.

A soldier threw an emergency boat into the sea and tried to jump on it, as Tae swam slowly, the soldiers who leaped were wiped out by the ferocious wave that periodically lifted Tae, filling his mouth with bitter salt water.

Tae pulled his whole effort to ascend into the emergency boat.  The waves had fun with him as they hauled and thrust him effortlessly in all directions. For once, when luck hit him, Tae was carried near the boat, and he scampered to get in.

'Enough,' he said to himself. Closing his eyes, he fell flat on the boat, he was weary and fatigued to care more about his life, as he could do only this much. It is all in God's hands.

He has to learn to outlast, to boat his life through. But after all this cognitive friction, he refused to.

“They have really made me crazy,” he chortled as he recalled killing the soldier, dragging him to the sea, and battling for his life. He has become selfish, and guiltless, “I have become crazy. Crazy to live. Crazy to meet Chae-Yeong again”

“If I slay more men, blame her for causing this. She initiated this. I can't live in consensus with all those dead bodies plaguing me, claiming themselves hounded by me. Although, now I wouldn’t overlook slaughtering them if they were alive to meet her, and ask why she would do this to me, and hope she won’t reply, ‘cause, I am the psycho’' he thought to himself and let his eyelids envelop more darkness around him.

. The end .
