━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
MARMADUKE ❛ MOOSE ❜ MASON IS a good guy. There is no going around that, nonetheless the two of you never really had a click. Midge was the vital part, she was the one thing you had in common.
He's a football player, you're an inspiring photographer. Not a lot of conversation starters there nor have you ever shared a class together, or really grown up close to eachother.
What he does have is a way of transport; and since Midge and you would always go to school together he brought both of you to and from school. The latter not always, but most days.
"Bye, Moose is already here." you voice, kissing dad's cheek. Slapping Trev's head. As Val and mom always leave early for a school day, neither of them were there for a kiss or in Val's case a slap on the back of her head. Tagging along with them for the day was Midge, not her usual hours but Cheryl had called an early Vixens practice.
"Have a good day!" dad calls, "See you later!" Trev shouts.
Walking our the door, I soon step into the car, the boy hold a paper cup up, "Coffee for the photographer." he smiles. Furrowing your brows, you take the cup, "Thanks." you say a little surprised.
A small moment passes until you break it, "Can I ask why?"
"Midge and you are friends. We are going to be together a lot. I don't want it to be awkward." he says, glancing at you before turning back to the road.
"Who says it was awkward?"
"No one, I just thouhht we could maybe be friends too? Not just because of Midge but actual friends."
Nodding, you take a sip of your coffee, "I think I might have a slot free." you mumble amused.
Chucking at your answer the silence presumes, "So... what do you like? Other than football." you ask, trying to find a mutal intrested.
"I like nature, film, reading, cars."
The latter didn't spark your intrest but the previously named three did, "Film, what kind of films?"
"Whatever is playing at the Twilight." he shrugs. Making you nod, you had expected it but it was disappointing, "So, more storyline and dialogue based that the way it's shot."
"Sorry."
He looked genuinely apologetic, which is suprisingly rarely shown, "It's okay, we will figure it out. Books, what is your favourite genre?"
"Comics?"
Taking a big sip, you hum. Not quite knowing how to answer to that, "You?"
"Not really an avid reader, I do like magazines." you shrug.
Nodding, you watch the boy carefully, "What type of magazines?" he asks, trying to continue the conversation.
"Natinal Geographic, Vogue, Times, things like that. You?"
"My mum reads them."
Finishing the coffee, you snore at his answer as the two of you pull up to Riverdale High, "So... Nature, what you like about it?" you ask.
Setting the breaks, he takes a deep breath, "I don't know, it's the calmest place I know. For even a split seconth you are completely alone, no one to judge you, nothing to worry about." he explains.
Nodding slowly, you take his words in, they were more poetic than you had ever heard especially from him, "It's weird."
"No," shaking your head, "I actually understand it." you tell the boy.
Stepping out of the car, you enter the school, "You want to go out to the twilight with me? We could walk around before we go." Moose asks.
"I would like that."
