𝗦𝗲𝗽𝘁 𝟭𝟬𝘁𝗵, 𝟮𝟬𝟭𝟲 𝗯𝘆 𝗗.𝗞𝗶𝗺

JYP ENTERTAINMENT took the whole world by surprise this morning with the announcement that Moon Ly-ann, member of Twice that just debuted last year, would be signing a solo contract.

"𝗪𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗽𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗧𝘄𝗶𝗰𝗲'𝘀 𝗠𝗼𝗼𝗻 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗮 𝘀𝗼𝗹𝗼 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁. 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗮𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗠𝗼𝗼𝗻'𝘀 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗽, 𝗶𝘁 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄 𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗼 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗲 𝗮𝘀 𝗮 𝘀𝗼𝗹𝗼 𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝘀𝘁. 𝗛𝗲𝗿 𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝘂𝗹𝗹 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗲𝘅𝗰𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗱, 𝗮𝘀 𝘄𝗲𝗹𝗹 𝗮𝘀 𝗠𝗼𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘂𝘀, 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝘂𝗽𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗼𝗹𝗼 𝗱𝗲𝗯𝘂𝘁."

The contract also lasts seven years and states that Moon will always take part of the group's activities. Once's have taken to Twitter to show their support and excitement over the new contract and have trended #SoloMoon at number 10 worldwide.

With this solo contract, Moon will get to promote her songs on music shows, release of her EPs and so on.

JYP ENTERTAINMENT also said that Moon's solo debut will happen this year, with a single called "Rise". Still no teaser released.

username: I'm confused. Weren't they suppose to only focus on the group?

username: I'm actually excited! I feel like Moon is going towards the pop and alternative genre. Maybe rap. Girl has vocals for days and sure knows how to rap.

username: maybe with her solo activities she may have more chances to rap, since she rarely does on the group, even though one of her positions is sub rapper

username: a bet that next year Soompi is going to release some news saying that Moon left the band

username: I'm actually happy that this happened! Now I hope for a Chaeyoung x Moon collab. The power it would hold.
