( the ballroom; the largest practice room in the building which is only used for special occasions rather than general practice )

the next day, the girls were asked to meet in the ballroom for a performance check with the mentors. in this performance check, trainees will perform in front of the mentors and receive aid and support from them. the mentors will help them will things they are struggling with and encourage them to succeed.

currently, all 22 girls were sat along the walls of the room, waiting for the mentors to arrive. the majority of the girls were nervous as they were only moments away from personally performing in front of two blackpink members.

just after the confessionals, the camera panned to the doors of the ballroom just as they opened. jennie and rosé walked into the room and waved at everyone as they made their way to two chairs against the wall across from the mirrors, taking a seat.

after a minute of conversing, they started to perform. there was background music on low, but it was only the instrumental, letting the girls voices be heard.

once the girls stopped performing, they tried to show off their ending fairies, but jang dohyun immediately started laughing when she thought about how they looked. a few of the other girls start laughing along with her, in turn making the mentors laugh with them.

↪ i think you guys did really well in the 3 day time period you've all had to practice. the positions seem well chosen, the dance is coming together nicely and for the most part, you guys are all stable.

rosé stood up and started dancing to the chorus of playing with fire, showing off her expressions as she performed. afterwards she sat back down.

the girls understood ( i barely understood what i wrote ) what she meant and immediately bowed, thanking her as they went to go sit back down.

the camera panned over to yang haeun who seemed to make a confused, judging expression towards the groups mistake.

noh hwajin awkwardly rounded up the group in a little circle. the girls talked for a moment before turning back around.

the girls immediately got into their positions and started performing. once again, only the instrumental played behind the girls as they performed.

as soon as the girls finished performing, they showed off their ending fairies. this time around, the girls did not laugh and remained serious. after a few seconds, they stopped and turned to face jennie and rosé.

jennie stared at the girls for a moment with wide eyes, not saying a word. rosé on the other hand, decided to say something.

↪ you guys perform very well. you are very coordinated and in sync. i enjoyed watching you guys perform!

rosé looked over at jennie, gesturing for her to speak.

the screen switched to show a scene from later that day when jennie entered the solo practice room. inside the room was hirano harue and only her. the scene showed jennie helping harue practice her rapping and giving her plenty of helpful tips and pointers.

the screen switched back to the current moment where the group thanked the mentors and sat back down against the wall.

the girls made their way to the middle of the room, all looking a bit upset as they stood there. jennie and rosé looked at them confused as they noticed their expressions and stance. the girls were all looking at each other to say something until choi ivy nudged jang eunseo forwards.
