The house fire might have engulfed Lauren Grace too. It had consumed and demolished everything that was in its path. She lost everything, everyone. Why Lauren had made it out alive that question taunted her each time she woke up, and when she laid herself down at night unable to fall asleep.

Haunted by the memories of a father, mother, and sister who loved her. Tormented by the realization that she thought of them as annoying and bothersome. She would give her life to see them one last time. Just once. Maybe she could convince the devil to allow her to swap places with them for they deserve life far more than she does.

An odd thought considering the devil himself was sitting in the same room as her. Day in and day out for as long as he can amuse himself.

Klaus Mikaelson.

She did not know much about him other than that he was bad. Aside from boasting about how he saved her life months ago, he keeps her locked in his basement. Asking her the same questions over and over again until her head spines, and she thinks she might vomit on his endless merry-go-round of sorrowful questions that never end. Not understanding why she is there, or what he needs her for.

The only joyous piece of her life is when Adrian Copeland makes an appearance each time Klaus leaves. Though his reasonings for being present in her life are unclear when they speak to each other, his words and little acts of kindness make her feel a type of normalcy in a reality of darkness and torment. She even wants to vomit less on Klaus's Merry-Go-Round. He was funny in the ways he watched what he said to not trigger her anxiousness and loss, asking her stupid questions instead.

She was appreciative that it brought her some peace.

As time passes and Adrian started becoming her peace, Klaus caught on. After all, he was the devil himself, so you cannot hide a thing from him, and Lauren coming close to falling for Adrian Copeland in her times of sorrow wasn't in the playing cards. He had plans for her, none involving Adrian, who isn't a saint himself. This, Lauren Grace, will understand. Just how Klaus is and how Adrian fits into everything.

okay, you might be in for a roller coaster. I've had this plot drafted for years and I think it's about time I use it.

are you a fan of villains? because both bad boys are villains in this story.

I've gotten into dark romance a lot recently, also my friend wanted me to make Klaus a part of this because we've discussed the originals I don't know how many times, although, I haven't made it past season 1 yet so bear with me!

The main characters collage in this chapter are Adrian Copeland and Lauren Grace!!
