THIRTEEN, goodnight morgan
"FOUR STRAWBERRY and peanut butter smoothies to go, please!" Nick politely asked as he, Morgan, Matt and Chris stood at the counter of Playa Bowls.
The woman at the counter nodded, typing the price into the computer in front of her then swivelling the credit card reader machine around so they could pay.
"Matt, you asshole!" Morgan whined as Matt quickly swiped his card through the machine. Matthew grinned stupidly and thanked the woman at the counter, leading the way to wait at a table.
The quartet joked around and waited for their order to be called so they can grab the drinks and leave to go for a little walk around the area.
"Order for Nick?"
Nick jumps out of his seat with the other three following behind him. He handed everyone their drink and thanked the person at the counter once again. The four strolled out of the building, into the chilly air., Matt Sturniolo faked a yawn and smoothly placed his arm around Morgan's shoulders.
Morgan rolled her eyes in a joking manner, leaning into the boy as the walked. Chris had spotted the ice cream truck, in the middle of winter, and began sprinting towards it.
"We literally just got smoothies, how much food does he need?" Nick rolled his eyes but still followed his brother to the van.
Morgan chuckled at how excited the three brothers looked at the sight of the ice cream truck. She was going to get payback on Matt for paying for the smoothies this time.
"One moment, Matty," she grinned, running off to where Nick and Chris were ordering at the truck window. She yanked out her credit card from her phone case quickly swiping it as the man in the van put the correct amount into it.
"Moe!" Nick gasped with wide eyes, Chris's jaw had dropped yet the pair still had smiles on their faces. Matt caught up with the three, soon realizing what his girlfriend was planning once he saw her whip out her phone.
"You snooze, you lose, Sturniolo," Morgan winked, pressing the enter key and smiling at the older man inside the truck who handed her two ice creams.
Nicolas smiled at his brother who stood there out of breath, he was nice enough to buy the other two, who didn't sprint with him and Chris, ice cream too.
"If you still did lacrosse, this wouldn't be happening," Chris joked, motioning his hand up and down Matt's body. Matthew flipped his brother off, taking one of the ice creams in Morgan's hand into his.
"You don't play lacrosse either?" Nick cluelessly shot back.
Chris groaned at the boy behind him, shoving his ice cream into his mouth so he wouldn't say anything unnecessary.
"See, Moe was quick because she plays Soccer and swims," Chris added, resting his forearm on the top of Morgan's head.
"Not right though now because I was out of the country when club signups were on," she pouted, missing the sports she liked most. Soccer was mainly her favorite.
Nick joined in on resting his arm on the girls' head giving Matthew a cheeky grin. The four walked around the block, the conversation always flowing perfectly.
"The sunset is so pretty, let's take pictures!" Nick grinned, looking between his brothers and Morgan. Morgan nodded with a smile while Chris and Matt took a little bit of convincing.
"Fine if you don't want to take photos, no hugs for a month," Morgan began, looking Matthew directly in the eyes. "And I'll rip the heads off of all your monkey toys," she finished, glancing at Chris who looked terrified.
"Okay, okay! We'll take photos!"
Morgan grinned, walking over to Christopher to hug him in apology and then purposely brushing past Matt, just to get him annoyed. She and Nick found it hilarious when the boy was mad.
Matt scoffed, a smile still lingering on his face. Morgan grabbed Nick's arm and pulled him towards a well-lit spot.
"Okay, me first. I need to get this done and over with," Chris over-exaggerated.
"Olivia would not be proud," Morgan shook her head, her tone laced with sarcasm.
Chris held back a smile at his celebrity crush's name and instead poked his tongue out childishly at Morgan.
Nick snapped multiple photos of Chris before handing his phone to Morgan as a sign to take photos of him and then Matt.
"Say 'slay'!" Morgan called, laughing as Nicolas did what she asked. She took many good photos of the boy, making sure she got good lighting.
Morgan then took photos of her boyfriend who looked a bit grumpy but still held a smile. Nick nudged the girl with a small laugh. Morgan felt a tiny bit bad but handed Nick the phone to have her photo's taken.
"Stop being awkward!" Nick complained as he tried to take a non-awkward photo of the girl. "Matt, go pose with her or some shit."
"Why me?"
"Because you're her boyfriend, dipshit," Chris answered for Nick.
Matt sarcastically put his hands up in surrender, walking over to where Morgan stood with her arms crossed.
"What's up with you?" Morgan teased, knowing the boy was officially annoyed at not only her but his brothers too.
"Fuck off," he muttered with a small smile.
The two posed for the camera and Nick let out a small squeal as Morgan wasn't awkward anymore. They finished up their photos before walking back to their neighborhood.
"Are you mad, Matty B?" Nick laughed as his brother brisk-walked ahead of the other three.
"Matt!" Morgan yelled out with a laugh. Watching as he quickly unlocked the front door and walked inside.
The trio knew he was joking around but was still determined to apologize, even if it didn't matter.
"Oh, Matthew," Chris sang as they entered the house.
They heard a crash from Matt's bedroom and tip-toed towards it. Morgan peeked through the door before it swung open and hit her in the face.
"Aw, jeez!" She shouted, holding her nose. The triplets chuckled a little bit before sitting beside the girl to make sure she was alright.
"Shit, sorry Moe. Are you okay?" Matt giggled, rubbing her back soothingly.
Morgan motioned to her nose giving Chris a hint that it was bleeding. The boy laughed before jumping up to get her tissues and an ice pack.
"I think I just had flashbacks to the day we met," Morgan laughed after having cleaned up her nose, the ice pack being softly held on her nose by Matthew.
"Oh, God, don't remind me of that again," Matt closed his eyes in embarrassment.
Morgan, Nick and Chris laughed at the red-cheeked boy as they all lay in the living room.
"C, what's the time?" Morgan asked the boy who lay on her lap whilst on his phone.
"Ten minutes to six, why?" He replied, looking up at the girl.
Morgan's eyes widened as she turned on her phone to make sure he wasn't kidding. Chris moved his head off of her legs and waited for her to speak.
"Teddy has his work dinner party at six forty and we're supposed to go!" She panicked.
"We?!" Nick cried.
Morgan nodded her head, turning to Chris with a shocked expression. She and Chris agreed on this, why didn't he tell the other two like he said he would?
"Chris!" She scolded, receiving a million 'sorry's' from the boy who was now up and ready to run to his room to find an outfit.
"What the fuck are we going to wear?" Matt furrowed his eyebrows, he wasn't one to dress well when under the stress of leaving soon.
Nick thought for a moment, pressing his fingertips to his temples as if he were a superhero.
"Prom suits?" He suggested, opening one eye in fear of his idea being turned down.
"That's good enough for me. Chris?" Matt asked his other brother who nodded happily.
Morgan nodded, giving Matt a quick kiss and hugging Chris and Nick as she got off the sofa to go back to hers to get ready.
"Where's my goodbye kiss?" Chris joked, earning a punch to the shoulder from Matt.
Morgan rolled her eyes blowing the boy a kiss which he pretended to catch and proceeded to hit his bottom with a laugh.
"Alright, see you three in twenty? Ted's driving so just walk over," Morgan smiled, shoving her phone into the back pocket of her jeans.
"Cool, see you soon Moe!"
Morgan waved to the three before making her way across the footpath and into her house where her uncle was cooking in the kitchen.
"Smells good, Teddy!" She commented, walking into her room and taking her sewn dress out of her closet.
"We're leaving in twenty-five, Morg! Tell the boys to be ready!"
"They know!"
Morgan spent the next fifteen minutes putting on her dress, chucking on her two-inch heels, accessorising and applying a light coat of mascara, lipgloss, eyeshadow and blush to her face.
She then quickly did her hair, loosely French braiding it on either side and tying it halfway through so her hair still lay past her shoulders. Morgan grabbed her purse and shoved her phone, lipgloss and small perfume bottle into it.
"Let's go, Momo!" Teddy called out from the lounge. Morgan walked along the wooden floors, her heels making a sound every time they came in contact with the ground.
"Ta-da," she smiled, watching four of the most important men in her life turn around and look at her in awe. It almost felt like it was prom night.
Matt's eyes were wide open, Nick was busy recording her spinning while fangirling behind the camera, Chris was nodding proudly and Teddy was holding back tears.
"Wow," was all Matt could mutter before pulling the girl in for a hug. Morgan then hugged Nick who would not shut up about how 'gorgeous' she looked.
"That dress fits you perfectly, it's almost like you made it or something," Chris joked, tapping a finger to his chin as Morgan mirrored his actions and hugged him.
The triplets quietened down from hyping their best friend up as Teddy gave her a tight hug, a single tear falling from his eye.
He couldn't believe he basically raised this little woman. He smiled softly down at her watching as her mouth spread into a grin at how emotional he was being.
"Don't cry, uncle Teddy," Morgan scrunched up her nose, wiping the single tear from his cheek.
"I'm just in shock that I raised you," he chuckled softly, rubbing his hands up and down Morgan's arm in a fatherly way. "Your mother would be proud of you, Morgan."
Morgan felt her eyes well up at the comment, her mom would be proud of her. The young girl grinned up at her uncle, pulling him in for one last hug, both of them blinking away their tears.
"Alright, let's get going!" Teddy threw a fist in the air, his emotional attitude seemed to have flown out of the window and been replaced with a party-positive attitude.
The four teenagers whooped from behind him and followed the older man outside towards his car. The five piled into the car but didn't get past Marylou who was waiting outside for photos because 'Morgan missed prom with her boys'.
"Don't do anything too stupid and shake hands and be polite to everyone you meet. I'll see you when it's time to eat," Teddy instructed the four as they walked into the large building.
Morgan, Matthew, Christopher and Nicolas walked into the building side by side, shooting jokes back and forward before stopping in front of an older male.
"Can I help you?" The man asked in a bothered tone.
"Hello, I'm Morgan March. Teddy's niece, these are my best friends," Morgan sweetly introduced, extending her hand out to the man.
"Richard Whiting, pleased to meet you, young lady. You behave yourselves now," the older man replied, now sounded calmer, and shook Morgan's hand.
The quartet continued to make their way through the crowded halls until they found themselves in an almost empty room that had a television that was playing Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part one which got Morgan excited.
Morgan walked around the room as there were fashion sketches on one side of the wall which immediately intrigued her. As she was gazing at all the magnificent designs a woman in her late-forties tapped the girl on her shoulder.
"You like fashion design?" She kindly questioned Morgan. She looked oddly familiar, Morgan just couldn't put a pin on who the woman was.
"I do, yes," Morgan softly smiled.
"She made the dress she's wearing, isn't she amazing?" Nick called out from a meter away as he returned to watching the movie.
Morgan shook her head in embarrassment as the older woman widened her eyes in awe.
"That is incredible," she commented, letting her eyes run through the fabric and neatly sewn corners. The lady had an Italian accent which made Morgan smile in happiness.
"Oh, thank you so much," the younger girl modestly beamed.
The woman nodded, turning back to the sketches on the wall, it was almost as if she was waiting for Morgan to comment on them.
"Did you draw these?"
"Sì," the woman replied.
Morgan's smile widened as she began to ramble to the woman about how incredible her sketches were and how she wished she could be as good as her someday.
"Alessandra Facchinetti, pleased to meet you," the woman held out her hand.
That's when it all clicked. Alessandra Facchinetti, an Italian fashion designer known for her work as the creative director at Gucci, Valentino and Tods. Morgan was starstruckk. This was the woman her grade six fashion presentation was on.
"Oh, my, I'm so sorry for not recognising you earlier! I'm Morgan March, it's a pleasure to meet you," Morgan smiled kindly, shaking the woman's hand.
Alessandra laughed, swatting her hand in the air as a way of telling Morgan not to worry about it. She then reached into her blazer pocket, pulling out a small card.
"I fly back to Italy tomorrow night but I would love to have an intern back in the States to help design and create more things."
Morgan fought the urge to scream and jump around, she inhaled quietly and took the card from Alessandra's hand.
"Thank you so much. Safe travels and enjoy the rest of your night," Morgan smiled.
"You too, Morgan March. I expect wonderful things from you, my darling," the older woman spoke sweetly, giving the girl two traditional Italian cheek kisses and then strolling out of the room.
Morgan spun around to the triplets who were silently celebrating for their best friend. Matt, who was right behind Morgan the entire time, pulled the girl into a tight hug, kissing her head multiple times.
"We are so proud of you, Morgan," Nick grinned while wiping his eyes, the boy was known to get emotional over things but never did Morgan think he would become emotional over her meeting a famous fashion designer.
"I love you boys," Morgan chuckled, pulling all three in for a big hug.
The quartet hugged for a couple of minutes pulling apart as they heard Morgan gasp in excitement.
"It's snowing!"
The four teenagers rushed to the closed sliding doors and watched the white, magical ice fall from the clouds. Morgan slid open the door, running out to stand in the snow and celebrate, completely forgetting she had heels on.
The triplet brothers followed behind her. All four of them gazed up at the sky in pure happiness. Morgan was over the moon and the boys were too.
Matthew softly pulled Morgan in for a kiss, having Morgan pull away rather quickly to complain about her feet about to freeze and fall off.
The four laughed together before Matt carried her back inside and sat her by the burning fire.
Dinner had finally finished and Teddy, Morgan, Chris, Nick and Matt were leaving and heading towards the car. The older March male was waiting in the car, turning on the heating while Nick and Chris were waiting by the doors for Matt and Morgan who were hand in hand walking down the stairs.
Morgan pressed her lips to his for the second time that night, this time it lasted a little bit longer than earlier but the two were startled out of the kiss from Teddy's car horn.
Matt laughed quietly, opening the door for Morgan as Chris had already taken the seat in front next to Morgan's uncle.
"After you," Matt poshly spoke.
"Why thank you," Morgan returned with a grin.
The eighteen-year-olds spent the car ride home laughing and talking away. Once they arrived home, Matt and Morgan were once again the last ones to go inside.
"Goodnight, Morgan," Matt smiled softly down at the girl.
"Night, Matt. I love you," she wrapped her arms around his neck, kissing him softly before pulling apart.
They hugged once more before walking into their own houses.
