"Class dismissed! Remember to bring a small bag tommorow, a big and fun festival is coming for you students!" The professor spoke with excitement on her tone, grabbing her folders from the podium and heading out of the classroom.

"I heard a rumor that every year on the festival, fireworks appear in the evening and whoever you're with during the fireworks is your soulmate! One alumni couple in our school even got married because of it!"

One female student spoke to her friends as they squealed. 

"Hey, Jungwon. Wanna watch the fireworks with me?" 

"H-HUH?!" 

Jungwon stuttered, falling off the ladder as Jay catched him and winked, making the younger's cheeks go red.

"YANG JUNGWON! Do your job properly!" Sunghoon hissed at Jungwon, making Jungwon get off Jay's grip.

"I-It's not my fault my boyfriend is a flirt!"

Sunghoon rolled his eyes and went down the ladder, sighing. They finally put the curtains up.

Sunoo, Jungwon, Jay and Sunghoon were busy with decorating the classroom with a few other classmates, as Jay just sat there watching his boyfriend work and Sunoo, well..he trembled.

"Sorry, I had to run from the gates to here!"

Jake panted as he entered the room, handing the fancy brown looking bag to Sunoo.

"O-oh.." Sunoo stuttered, taking the bag in his hands as everyone smirked at him.

"Go get your butt in there and change so Jake can see if he got the right size."

"I-I.."

Sunoo stuttered again, as everyone was all ears for what he had to say.

"O-okay.."

Sunoo's grip on the bag tightened as his feet slowly dragged him inside the curtains and squinting his eyes before changing.

"A fish?" 

Niki laughed at Heeseung's story, finding out that one of the classes' mascot was a fish.

"At least ours is a cat." Heeseung chuckled, thinking their class was much superior.

Niki's breath slightly hitched, the thought of Sunoo in a cat maid costume.

"Niki?" Heeseung spoke the younger's name, turning around to see Niki lost in his thoughts. Heeseung rasied an eyebrow but finally got the point.

Heeseung walked over to Niki and throwing his arm over his shoulder, making Niki snap out.

"Are you thinking about..Sunoo in that costume?"

"E-EH?!" 

Niki gulped and looked away, huffing.

"I can see your red cheeks." Heeseung nudged Niki's shoulder, making Niki open one eye.

"I-is it..that obvious?" Niki asked the older making Heeseung smile in victory.

"I knew it, I knew you liked Sunoo."

"I-I don't-"

"You don't? You don't??" 

Niki scrunched his nose and hit Heeseung's arm.

"Don't worry, I won't tell him. But you should tell him before..Runa confesses to him."

"H-huh?"

Niki rasied an eyebrow as his shoulder got tapped, turning around to see Runa.

"I heard my name?"

Heeseung's breath hitched, as Runa smiles as if she didn't hear anything.

"Also, Heeseung-ah, can I talk to Niki for a sec?"

"Uh, sure? I'll head to the classroom first." Heeseung excused himself as his smile disappeared when he turned around, leaving Runa and Niki alone on the side of the hallways.

"What?" Niki spoke in a stern and straight forward tone, making Runa chuckle.

"What are you doing for tommorow?" She asked.

"None of your business."

Runa mentally scoffed as she sighed on the outside.

"If that's all, I'm leaving."

Runa squinted her eyes and grabbed his wrist before he could leave, making Niki roll his eyes up.

"D-don't go."

"And why not?"

"Because..

I don't want you to see Sunoo."

Niki furrowed his eyebrows at what she said, making him shake his wrist out of her grip.

"Y-you don't have to look at him in that costume, you can just stay with me and talk-"

"There's no way I'm following you. You're not the boss of me."

Niki walks off as students in the hallways look at Runa as she looked down. At this point she could just throw a bucket of ice on top of his head or spike his drink and watch him cough the heck out of himself.

"Come out come out Ddeonu!" Jay spoke, making Sunoo, who was sitting on a stool inside the curtains, his fingers trembled.

"I-I look w-weird.."

"Nonesense hyung! I bet you look great! Come out!" Jungwon cheered for him.

"B-but-"

"JUST COME OUT!" Sunghoon shouted from impatience, recieving a hit on the head from Jake.

Sunoo slowly slid the curtains to the side, making his friends' lips part.

"Oh my.." Jake whispered under his breath.

"Told you guys I look bad.." Sunoo chuckled.

"Hyung..You look amazing.." Jungwon gasped, as Sunoo's eyes flickered from the sudden flash. Sunoo looked at Sunghoon who was holding his phone.

"D-did you just-"

Jake hit Sunghoon's arm, making the younger groan.

"OH SO YOU'RE SUDDENLY HITTING ON SUNOO BECAUSE HE'S IN THAT COSTUME?"

"CHILL! I took this pic to send to Niki."

"E-EH?!" Sunoo's cheeks turned red, suddenly hearing the doors of the classroom slid open. Sunoo widened his eyes and hid back behind the curtain, his eyes squinting from embarassment.

"Hey." Heeseung came in the room with Niki, as the youngest raised an eyebrow, catching just a really small glimpse of Sunoo.

"Where's Sunoo? Is he still changing?" Heeseung asked.

"Come out come out Sunoo, your boyfriend is here." Sunghoon teased, making Niki blush.

"N-NO! U-UH, YOU GUYS CAN SEE ME TOMORROW!"

"C'mon Sunoo! We're your friends! Why would we judge you?" Jake pouted.

"PARK! NISHIMURA!"

A student knocked on the room door, making Jay and Niki turn their heads.

"We have practice today! Coach is furious for your absence!" The student growled, making Jay immediately grab his bag that was placed on his chair.

"I'll get going." Jay waved bye to everyone and planted a small kiss on Jungwon's cheek.

"Niki, let's go."

Niki snapped out of his thoughts and nodded, jogging to the gym beside Jay, disappointed that he wasn't able to see Sunoo.

The rest of them sighed, facing towards the curtains.

"He's gone, you can come out now."

Sunoo gripped the curtain, sliding it slowly.

"Sunoo hyung. Are you..embarrassed?"

Sunoo's cheeks turned red, sitting on the stool as his friends smirked at him.

"I-I just..don't want Niki to see me in..this.."

Sunghoon smirks and walks up to the younger, throwing his arm over his shoulder.

"I think our Ddeonu here..has a crush on Niki."

"W-WHAT? Y-YOU'RE CRAZY!" Sunoo harshly hit Sunghoon's shoulder, making Jungwon, Jake and Heeseung laugh.

"I've noticed that too. And who knows, maybe Niki likes you too ;)" Heeseung teases, making Sunoo raise his arm and clench his teeth.

"STOP TEASING ME! There's no way I could possibly like..him."

"Why? What's so wrong about Niki? Aren't you guys like best friends?"

"Sure but...I don't think liking him is..okay.."

Sunoo looked down and played with his fingers, as Sunghoon's arm suddenly gets off his shoulder.

"Why? Is it because..he's a boy?"

Heeseung asked, making Sunoo gulp.

What does he tell his friends? Majority of them liked each other, and they were a group of all boys. Would it offend his friends? Would it end their friendship?

"N-no it's just that..I-I don't want to get bullied for it.." Sunoo finally speaks his feelings, making the others feel bad for him.

"Sunoo, there's nothing to be ashamed of. There's nothing wrong with liking a boy. Look at us, we like each other, you know that. Jay and Jungwon are dating each other, and they don't care about what people say. If you really like that person, then there's no shame in that, whether they're a boy or a girl or any other sexuality." Jake spoke, patting Sunoo's back.

"I-I'm sorry if I offended you guys.."

"It's fine, Ddeonu. If you really like Niki, then I say go for it. Now go and get changed, we should get the classroom decorated by an hour."

Meanwhile Jay and Niki were busy rushing to the gym,

when Niki's phone dinged.

Niki stopped his tracks and checked his phone.

Sunghoon hyung sent a photo.

Niki opened the new message and saw a pic of Sunoo startled in the cat maid costume, making the younger's breath hitch as his cheeks and ears turned red.

"NIKI! C'MON!"

Niki snapped out of his thoughts and nodded, putting his phone back in his pocket and following behind Jay with a cute red smile plastered on his face.

"Thank you, come again!"

Jungwon thanks the couple that bought cupcakes from their class, his eyes glistening from the money in his hands.

"WE'RE RICH!" Jungwon shouts, making all their classmates cheer.

It was festival day and everyone was having a fun time. Jungwon and Jake handled the food selling, Sunghoon and Heeseung handled the decorations and money counting, and Niki and Jay handled the photobooth.

"Thank you, come again." Jay spoke with a smile and as soon as the group of girls went away, he groaned and fell on his chair.

"Never knew taking pictures of people would be exhausting!" Jay complained as Niki chuckled at the elder.

"Yo, when will Sunoo get here? He's our main bait!" Sunghoon complained.

"He should be de done changing by now.."

"Oh! There he is!"

Jake spoke with excitement and gasp in his tone, as the mascot boy slowly entered the classroom.

Sunoo glanced at Niki but immediately looked away with flushed cheeks as the younger was red and his grip on his camera loosened.

"P-please don't make fun of me.."

"We won't make fun of you, Ddeonu! You look so cute!"

Sunoo lifted his head and made eye contact with Niki, gulping at their red cheeks.

"There he is!"

"Omg he's SO cute!"

"CAN WE GET A PICTURE?!" 

Sunoo was startled by the group of 4 girls suddenly approaching him, as they handed a phone to Niki.

"U-uh, okay.." Niki gulps and shakes his thoughts off, as the 4 girls went beside Sunoo who was embarassed but smiled through the embarassment anyways.

"One, two, three!" Niki clicked the picture and gave the phone back as the girls squealed and thanked him as they left the room.

Jay smirked as he pushed Niki beside Sunoo, making Niki startled.

"Why don't I get a picture of you two? C'mon, Niki! Pose properly!" Jay shouted, walking up to them as he puts Niki's hand on Sunoo's waist, making both their faces red.

On my waist?! Seriously Jay hyung?!

Jay hyung, you're a dead man for this.

Oh god, this is making me red..

Just calm down, don't make your redness too obvious..

Both Niki and Sunoo panicked inside as they both smiled when Jay clicked the picture.

"You guys look so cute together!" Sunghoon teased, walking up to Jay and looking at the picture.

Both blushed even harder as they looked away from each other and avoided eye contact.

"Right. Me and Jungwon are going to watch the fireworks later. You?"

"Me and Jake are going to watch too."

"I have to help our professor collect the money."

The rest of the booed Heeseung as they found his job lame meanwhile the couple and the 'courting' duo are going to watch the lights together.

"Sunoo? Niki? What's your plans for tonight?" 

"O-oh..Uh..prolly watch the fireworks too, alone maybe." Sunoo spoke as a response.

"Niki?"

"I'll just have to see." Niki spoke as Heeseung winked as the younger puffed his cheeks at him.

Sunoo unlocked his compartment locker and put in the paper bag with the cat maid costume inside it and closing it.

Glad my body's out of that costume! It was so hot..

Sunoo sighed and checked the time on his phone. 6:00 pm.

Sunoo smiled and went out of the campus to see couples outside on the field, laying down together with matts on the grass.

Bet Jungwon, Jay, Jake and Sunghoon hyung are there.

Sunoo chuckled and went to a quiet alley way filled with trees in the back of the campus.

Whilst walking, there he saw a figure sitting down by the grass and staring at the sky.

Niki. It was Niki.

"What are you doing here?"

Sunoo spoke from afar, making Niki turn his head around and smile.

"Hi hyung." 

Niki stood up and climbed up to meet Sunoo's eyes. Sunoo's cheeks turned red as he stumbled back from how close the younger one was.

"The others are on the field so I thought I could go behind the campus for some piece and quiet." Sunoo says whilst walking slowly with Niki beside him.

"What about you? What are you doing here?" Sunoo asks.

"It's my hiding spot. I like to come here when I want to clear my mind up."

Sunoo stops his tracks and flickers his eyes at him.

"Is there something bothering you?" Sunoo asks.

"Hm..maybe I shouldn't tell you yet.."

"Why? You can tell me, I won't tell anyone I promise."

Niki sighs and turns around, looking up at the sky.

"I used to watch the sky with Runa."

Sunoo furrowed his brows at what Niki just said.

"W-what do you me-"

"Runa's my childhood friend. But she uh..hurt me. She broke my heart when I was eleven. She stranger-zoned me, and that's when my life turned depressing cause I always thought that people hate me, I mean I always got bullied for being different ever since I was a child. So I moved to Korea and got a better life. But now that she's back.. It's hard seeing her everyday at school without remembering what she did to me years ago.."

Niki turned his head to Sunoo even more after his speech, seeing Sunoo surprised.

For the first time in Niki's life..

He was comfortable telling someone about his trauma.

"N-niki..I'm so sorry for asking-"

"It's okay, I'm over her. It's why I act cold around her. I hate her." Niki explained which made things much clearer for Sunoo.

If he knew about what Niki has gone through, maybe he wouldn't have always defended his crush.

Crush? Speaking of crush, Sunoo was never clear about his feelings for Runa. He thought it was love at first sight. But he was most definitely wrong.

"Can I know that song now?"

Sunoo looked at him as he spoke, softly looking up the sky.

"Hm..the song's called The Story. It tells that there are things in love that can't be helped and there will always be people judging you no matter what you do. Sorry if I seem like I wasn't the type to listen to those kinds of music." Sunoo rubbed the back of his neck, glancing at Niki who was just staring at the stars.

"It's fine. I can relate to it."

"Ho..w..oh..Runa.."

Niki nodded, feeling comfortable on the spot.

"Must've been hard for you, huh?" Sunoo stood beside Niki and looked up, glancing at the younger.

"Yeah. That's why I don't want you near her. I don't want her to hurt someone I love just like what she did to me."

Sunoo looked at Niki and blushed.

L-loved ?!

"L-loved?" Sunoo asked, making Niki awkwardly chuckle.

"S-sorry, it slipped out of my mouth.."

He's not denying it..

does..he like me?!

"D-don't worry, Niki. Me and the others will never hurt and or leave you. We're lucky to have a good person like you in our group. Runa doesn't deserve you. I'll always be by your side and support you in everything you do. Fighting, Nishimura Riki!"

Sunoo spoke and giggled, making Niki's eyes glisten.

How Sunoo's orbs stare onto his and vice versa and how those comforting words just seem so simple for him to say.

This is it.

I'm in love.

Niki didn't think it out, just walking nearer Sunoo, making Sunoo flicker his eyes multiple times from the sudden closure.

"W-what?" Sunoo asked.

Niki didn't know what he was doing, it's like his body was moving on its own.

Like how his face was going closer to Sunoo's as the older squinted his eyes.

Sparks.

Beautiful sparks.

The fireworks blew up colorful lights in the sky, 

but the real spark was in their eyes.

Niki can't help but glisten when he stared at Sunoo. It's not like he was doing it on purpose it just..happens.

Sunoo slightly hitched his breath before pushing Niki with blushing cheeks.

"W-what were you trying to do?!" Sunoo complained as Niki laughed, clearly seeing how flushed the older was.

"Nothing, you're cute." Niki chuckled, holding out his phone as to Sunoo seeing his lockscreen is him in that costume from earlier.

"H-HEY! WHERE'D YOU GET THAT?!" Sunoo tried grabbing the phone but was too short since the younger was a giant like he said.

"Doesn't matter, you look so cute."

"CHANGE IT!" Sunoo huffed.

"No can do!"

Niki ran away as the older chased after him out of the back of the campus trees.

They didn't bother remembering those rumors about the fireworks, it didn't occur at their head that moment.

But maybe, just a maybe..

Even if the fireworks didn't happen..

Maybe they are just meant for each other.
