Yuri P.O.V

"I'm going to a mall today."

All five of us were sitting on the table, silently eating our breakfast.

No one, except Taehyung payed any heed to what I was saying. Taehyung was the only one who looked up from his plate of omelettes.

"Why?" He asked, his mouth full of omelette, his lips pouted, as they always were whenever he ate.

Cute.

No, snap out of it, you're supposed to be mad at him.

"To, uh, get my laptop repaired. And to shop for clothes, obviously."

Still, no one was listening to me. I sighed.

I was used to Hoseok and Yoongi ignoring me, but Mina never did. She was probably still upset about last night, and this morning.

"What time are you going?" Taehyung asked, after swallowing his food.

"After eating."

"And what time will you be back?"

"Why are you asking so many questions?"

Taehyung stared at me intensely. "Because I care for your safety, and wanna know your whereabouts."

"Oh, please, don't start acting as if you care." I scoffed.

"What time will you be back?" He asked once again.

I set my fork harshly on the table and looked him dead in the eye. "I don't know. And even if I knew, I won't tell you."

Taehyung nodded after a moment, setting his fork gently on the table. "I'm going to the mall today, as well."

This certainly got him the attention I was looking for.

Everyone sitting at the table, whipped their heads to look at Taehyung.

"No you're not!"

"We have work to do Tae."

Hoseok and I spoke at the same time.

"What do you mean I'm not?" Taehyung turned to me, completely ignoring Hoseok.

"You were injured yesterday, surely you wouldn't have forgotten about it. You need to rest!" I cried.

"Hobi, you heard her, I can't come to work for some time, I have to rest." Taehyung smiled at Hoseok who rolled his eyes, muttering a, 'Resting, my ass."

"And you can't come to the mall either! You have to stay here and rest, Mina will be with you," I said.

"Actually, I have to go out somewhere too." Mina coughed slightly.

"Where are you going now?" Yoongi finally spoke, staring at Mina.

"I have some work to do. And before you ask what it is, it's a family matter, which requires my immediate attention." I felt as if Mina had directed her words solely to Yoongi, who scowled, but stared at her with suspicion.

"I can't stay all alone here, so, I'm coming with you." Taehyung clapped his hands, satisfied with where the conversation was going. I wasn't happy about it.

"Why me?" I gritted my teeth.

The very last person I wanted to spend my day with was definitely Kim Taehyung.

"Because if something does happen to me, you'll be right there to help me."

I had to admit, he had a point.

"Ugh, fine!" I groaned, grudgingly agreeing. I stood up to keep my now empty plate in the sink.

"We're leaving in half an hour. Make sure you're ready by then," I said before walking towards my room.

'It's fine, just avoid looking at him, and talking to him at all costs, unless something serious happens.'

It's gonna be easy, right?

-

Wrong.

"Taehyung! God damnit, where is that idiot?!"

I tapped my feet impatiently, looking at my smartwatch. 12:30.

I groaned. We were supposed to leave half an hour ago.

"Oh my God, I cannot stay here any longer," I muttered to myself, biting my lip worriedly. I had to get that laptop repaired as soon as possible; I cannot live without it.

Call me dramatic, but I've spent so much time on that laptop, and gone through so many things with it, that, at this point, it's basically my life system.

And each passing second I spend without it, the more frantic I become.

I stomped towards the door of the house, determined to pull Taehyung by his ear, if that's what it took to get him out of the house.

Suddenly the door opened, making me lose my balance.

I couldn't fall, however, because Taehyung swiftly grabbed my waist.

You know how they describe scenes like this in dramas? With all the staring-into-each-others'-souls, and bells ringing in the distance signalling their oh-so powerful love?

Yeah. . . that didn't happen.

I hung awkwardly from Taehyung's left arm, before scrambling back up, fixing my dress and clearing my throat.

I was embarrassed, to say the least.

Taehyung stared at me with an amused look, which irked me.

Irked me enough to say, "Let's go, you idiot, we're half an hour late."

I walked towards the car, which now had a bunch of scratches as well as a couple of dents on it, and sat inside, banging the door close a bit too harshly.

But I didn't care. I was pissed at him, and he should know that.

Eventually Taehyung also sat, starting the car, the ghost of a smirk lingering on his face.

We don't have any drivers, and hire only workers who do the bare minimum, such as cooking food and doing laundry.

The Mafia world is very dangerous where no one can trust anyone, and they need to be very careful about what they disclose to other people.

Having a driver was very risky for them, which is why they drove themselves to wherever they wanted to go.

Taehyung put his right arm, over my seat, making his injured side comfortable, while backing out of the driveway.

I'm ashamed to admit that a simple act like that made me swoon over him.

When he twisted his wrist to use the palm of his hand to twist the steering wheel, I quickly averted my gaze.

I did not sign up for this sort of fūckēry.

Why am I finding every little thing he does attractive?

I'm supposed to be mad at him, and that does not include me simping over him.

I stared out of the window, trying to get rid of distracting thoughts. And, it was working, until Taehyung began humming a song.

A very familiar song.

A tune, which unlocked a memory. A memory which seemed as if it were only days old.

A memory which played through my mind, with nostalgia.

I was watching a movie in the hall of our previous house.

It was very interesting, and had me hooked to the point where I never realised that a drunk Taehyung had taken a seat next to me, on the far end of the couch.

Only when Taehyung began humming a random tune did I realise that I wasn't alone anymore.

Startled, I jumped a little in my seat. The television remote was near my legs, and my jump accidentally made me press the switch off button.

Suddenly, we were surrounded by stark darkness, as the T.V's illumination was the only source of light.

"Oh my gosh, you scared me!" I scrambled for the remote, to switch the T.V back on.

Taehyung didn't respond, instead, continued humming. The tune was soft and soothing.

"Did you come up with this tune?" I hadn't heard anything like this before.

"I did." Taehyung giggled. I sighed.

"You're drunk, aren't you?" We were once again surrounded by the light exuded by the television.

"Maybe just a tiny bit." Taehyung brought his index finger and thumb closer, to indicate the 'tiny bit'.

I cooed internally. "The song's pretty good."

"Thanks,"

We stayed like that for a minute before Taehyung spoke. "Aren't you gonna ask me how I came up with it?"

"Do you want me to ask you that?"

"Yes."

"Fine. How did you come up with it?"

"It's a secret," Taehyung giggled again.

I hit his arm exasperatedly.

"Fine, I'll tell you. I had a dream that felt very real, and in that, my dad used to sing this tune to me so that I could sleep." Taehyung had a sad look on his face.

"Do you remember his face?" I asked slowly.

Taehyung shook his head slowly. "Only fragments. But he was a wonderful man, inside-out."

"I'm sure he was. . ." I trailed sadly. This topic was a sadness-inducing one for Taehyung, which must've been why he was so quiet and answering after long pauses.

"Anyways, I was saying; I want to sing this song to someone special, sitting under the midnight sky, stargazing, like this," Taehyung suddenly pulled me close to him, so that my head lay on his chest, facing the dull ceiling of our house.

"I'll pat their head like this, while singing this, until both of us fall asleep under the starlight."

Taehyung patted my head gently, probably to demonstrate how he imagined it, until he wasn't.

His arms were still tight around me. I glanced up to see that he had fallen asleep, with me in his arms.

I sighed. I didn't want to wake him up, but I couldn't stay like this all night.

Or could I?

Taehyung was still softly humming the tune, in his sleep, his deep voice vibrating in his chest, where my head was. It was soothing, and I found myself smiling fondly before closing my eyes.

We had fallen asleep in each others' arms that night.

RIP my humour 💀

Yes, I know that the story is so boring rn ughhh, I hate it too, but patience is a virtue.
I'm trying to develop this story as fast as I can, without rushing it, so that y'all can actually enjoy the story

As for the characters, do keep in mind that Yuri and Taehyung have known each other for a while now, so them falling in love with each other (if it even happens) shouldn't be a surprise.

Their characters have already developed, so I'll be showing many flashbacks to show how their character was before.

Vote, and comment (spam) your thoughts regarding the story, because (believe or not) I majorly get inspiration from y'all's comments </3

Ciao~
