Trauma - Doja Cat
Holding the chopsticks in your hands, you took the last bite of your tofu. Bakugou's magic hands brought your prepped food together into a plate of miracles. He made it taste better than you anticipated and left a warm feeling in your mouth. Already sharing your bowl with Kazuko, you could finish it rather quickly, leaving no crumbs or grains of rice behind. As for Bakugou, he finished his meal first, satisfied and with his belly full. He took your empty dishes from your hands and sat them in the sink, you quickly followed along behind him.
"I can help you with those," You offered, reaching down to beckon Kazuko into your arms. Bakugou avoids your flying hands reaching for the bowls. He's swift in swatting your hands before turning you away.
"I can handle a couple of bowls. Go sit down on the couch, I'll be there in a sec." Bakugou orders you, gently shoving you towards the couches. You mumbled an 'okay' and carried Kazuko where you left his diaper bag, picking up his dragon plushie. Sitting you down, you turned Kazuko so his back was facing you and handed him the toy. Kazuko drops the pacifier in his mouth and chomps down on the toy. You catch the pacifier in your hand, tucking it away in your bag.
With your quirk, you rubbed on Kazuko's stomach to calm his aching belly that's been bothering you after the pancakes. Your hands soothed your baby's belly, laughing when he screams at the toy or slaps it around. For those next few minutes, you played with your baby, taking precautions each time as he knawed on the dragon's ears. You'd stick your finger in his mouth to hook the dragon's arm out.
By the time Bakugou had finished the dishes, Kazuko would start whining. You looked over him after he dropped his toy on your floor, assuming it was his stomach. "What's the matter Kazuko?"
Those whines turned into tears when Bakugou rounded the corner and Kazuko's arms reached out for the blonde. Fighting against your grip, Kazuko's body leans forward in the direction of Bakugou's body. Glancing between him and Bakugou, you discovered the reason for Kazuko's cries. Setting him down you watch your baby pick himself up and walk over to Bakugou's legs. As soon as he clutched onto Bakugou's pants, his cries stopped altogether.
"So that's what you wanted, huh," You whispered, picking up the dragon toy off the floor and seating it beside your thigh. Deactivating your power, you settled your hands down on your lap, but you noticed the time on a cloak hanging on the wall. Bakugou noticed your gaze, leaning down to hold out his arms.
He lifts Kazuko off the ground and cradles him in his arms. "Don't be a brat to your mom,"
Kazuko smiles, rubbing his eyes roughly. Taking note, Bakugou warms up his palms, making Kazuko drift off a lot easier. You tilt your head watching on from your couch.
"Either he likes you because you're warm or you're just the perfect pillow." You suggested, seeing the way Kazuko nuzzled into Bakugou's chest. Bakugou rubs his hand up and down your baby's back, earning a yawn in return. You smile with contentment seeing Kazuko nodding off.
"My quirk heats up my palms. I'm like a human heating pad for the kid," Bakugou explains, leaning back on the couch. In awe, Kazuko finally closed his eyes, drifting right off to sleep. Your eyes never leave Kazuko's chest rising and falling.
"Your quirk is amazing, Bakugou. It really comes in handy," You admitted, folding your arms over your chest. "Kazuko fell asleep in seconds,"
"If you want I can lie him down on my bed until Aizawa comes back," Bakugou offers, lowering the tone of his voice. You nod your head and dug a hand into your bag. You pulled out a small white baby monitor along with his baby blanket. Following Bakugou upstairs, you looked around, observing your surroundings and getting a better insight into Bakugou's home and his family. There are pictures of him with his parents even Midoriya. In some pictures, Bakugou is smiling and in others he's pouting. He's very lucky.
Then you'd find yourself in his room. Most of the stuff inside is gone except for the All might posters decorating the walls, bookshelves and furniture. Striding over to his bed, Bakugou carefully lies Kazuko down on his back before he backs away for you. You draped the blanket over Kazuko then barricade him from the edge of the bed using Bakugou's pillows. After you put the baby monitor on the nightstand, you leave him alone and the door ajar.
"He should be okay for a while. Thank you for putting him to sleep Bakugou," You whispered, stopping next to Bakugou's door where you spotted another framed photo of Bakugou's parents, young and in love. If you had to guess it was years before Bakugou's birth. You found it adorable and when Bakugou notices you standing there, you grazed your fingers along the brown frame. "You're parents look so in love in this picture,"
"They have their moments-" Bakugou answers, dodging the question.
"It must be nice being one of the lucky ones," You assumed, smiling warmly. "You must love them so much,"
"Love is a strong word for those two," Bakugou replies, walking away leaving you to follow seconds later.
"I would say the same thing about my parents too," You confessed, earning a look from Bakugou. Supposing that Bakugou was thinking about your father, you started to explain. "People marry out of love but not my parents. They were far from it. Dad became a hero and Mom became a drunkard,"
"And the hero commission wouldn't let you distract Mister Aizawa from becoming a pro hero," Bakugou guessed.
"Yeah," Nodding your head, you continued. "Custody was given to my mother while my father had been awarded visitation so long as he paid child support. Before I was left on my own,"
Bakugou hummed, gesturing towards the staircase. "Come on. Let the brat sleep while he can,"
"Okay,"
Kazuko slept peacefully while you spent the rest of your time chatting. The further discussions felt like hours between checking in on Kazuko and building a relationship with Bakugou until Aizawa arrived in his car. After his little visit with Kurogiri (Oboro) in the central hospital, you were sure he was tired and justifiably upset. The process of saving your uncle was taking longer than it should have. Aizawa misses his best friend that made you smile as a baby.
For some time, Aizawa disclosed his concern for Bakugou while you gathered Kazuko's things before you rudely woke the weary boy from his slumber. Kazuko's grumpy expression was met with Aizawa's smile, unforeseen which brought him comfort.
"Goodbye Bakugou, I had fun today!" You waved at the boy whilst you strapped Kazuko into his car seat. Of course, he said nothing. Actions spoke for him instead as he waved right back at you when your back was facing him. You saw it through a reflection and you chuckled, watching him disappear behind his door.
"I see that you had a good time with Bakugou, Y/n," Aizawa uttered, walking around to the driver's side.
"I guess. He's a good conversationalist once you ignore the grumbles and a great cook," You explained, earning a little chortle that was all part of your plan to cheer him up.
"You're making progress with him and that's good to hear," Aizawa retorts, patting you on the head a couple of times. "Let's head back, Eri has some new toys she wishes to share with Kazuko,"
"How very sweet of her,"
The fact that this book is almost at 800k reads is ASTOUNDING!!
