"Don't you know what I am?"

To say that Valentine was nervous would be an understatement.

The young girl had never been on a date before and she was afraid that she'd say something weird or be so flustered that she wouldn't talk at all.

But, Palm had reassured the girl that they'd be fine and together, they went out shopping to find some clothes for their dates.

Of course, they helped one another and seeing a sweater that looked very similar to a shirt she had once owned, Valentine immediately grabbed it as the older woman handed her a pair of black leggings; which went well with her black leather boots.

With a gentle smile on her face, the young blonde thanked the woman and Palm's eyes softened as a smile formed on her face.

'Valentine..'

Hearing her name, Valentine blinked her eyes open and looked up at the raven haired woman, a small hum of curiosity leaving her lips as she tilted her head to the side.

The sight almost made Palm melt at her innocent expression.

'..Don't let this world ever change you'

Blinking slowly, the young girl's expression brightened and a soft chuckle left her lips as she beamed up at the woman, a calming aura seeming to roll off of her in waves.

"I won't, Palm. Don't worry"

With a gentle look in her eyes, Palm watched as Valentine's eyes lit up as she noticed an outfit and she immediately took it off of the hanger, holding it up to the woman.

"What about this one?"

Already at the Hotel before the boys had gotten back, Valentine placed her clothes on her bed in a spare room that Palm had given her and she looked the outfit over, a small smile on her face as she tilted her head slightly.

Hearing the door open, a small squeak left her lips as her eyes widened and she quickly flung forward, landing on the clothes as her face smashed into the soft pillows.

A soft and very familiar chuckle filled the air, causing Valentine to look behind her and seeing her brother standing there, his arms crossed over his chest as he grinned at her, the blonde groaned in annoyance as she got up.

"Gods Jaxon, don't scare me like that!"

Holding his hands up in mock surrender, the blonde haired boy shut the door behind him as he stepped into the room and glanced down at the outfit she had been covering.

'Sorry, little sister, I didn't realize you didn't want your boyfriend to see what you picked out. I mean, if you want I'll go get him for you..'

Hearing the teasing tone in his voice, Valentine picked up one of the pillows and threw it at him with quite a bit of strength behind her throw.

Not enough to hurt him, of course, but just enough to knock him over.

"Jaxon!"

Ducking so that her throw missed, a small laugh left Jaxon's lips once he heard the pillow smack against the door and he stood up straight, glancing from the pillow on the ground to his sister with a grin on his face.

'Did you try to knock me over with a pillow?'

With pursed lips, Valentine's face fell into a deadpanned expression and she lightly clicked her tongue, glancing from the pillow to her brother.

"That I did and sadly, you moved out of the way"

With a snort leaving his lips, Jaxon slowly shook his head and picked up the pillow from the ground, throwing it back at his sister with just as much force.

However, a small frown formed on his face as he watched Valentine catch it with a raised eyebrow and Jaxon huffed slightly, his posture deflating.

'Damnit..'

Watching as she placed the pillow back down on the bed, the blonde boy walked towards the bed and sat down, observing his twin's face.

It was clear to Jaxon that she was rather nervous since she'd never been on a date before and knowing just how much Valentine liked the snowy haired boy outside the room, caused the twin to feel sympathy for his sister.

'Hey, Tiny'

Hearing that nickname caused the young girl's eye to twitch in annoyance and looking up at her twin, preparing to yell her head off, Valentine opened her mouth only to stop short once she had seen the look on his face.

Serenity.

Seeing the soft smile on his face caused Valentine to blink slowly and her eyebrows pulled together in confusion.

Her brother had never once been so calm after learning that someone liked her or even planned to take her out.

'Don't overthink it and everything will be alright. Just be yourself'

With a gentle look in her eyes, the young teenager leaped forward and wrapped her arms around Jaxon's shoulders as she felt him tense up, before slowly wrapping his arms around her as well.

It almost felt like forever since he's last had one of her hugs.

"...Jax"

Hearing her speak up softly, a small hum left Jaxon's lips and he kept his eyes closed as he only hugged her tighter.

"Thank you.."

With a soft chuckle, the teen gently ran his hand up and down his sisters back in a calming motion, a small smile spreading across his lips.

'You're welcome'

The soft chirping of birds had awoken Palm and Valentine rather early in the morning as they helped one another get ready.

After straightening the woman's hair; making a braid straight down the middle, the young blonde was sitting in front of Palm and began to gently apply eyeshadow to her eyelids; having decided to go for a soft, neutral cream color.

Picking up a soft rose colored lipstick, Valentine softly pressed it against the woman's lips and slowly dragged the small stick across her skin, watching as the color began to gently lighten the natural color of her lips.

Picking up the small cloth on the table once she had finished applying the lipstick, the young blonde made sure to wipe away any excess color that had made it to the side when she had told Palm to softly rub her lips together.

Stepping back to admire her work, Valentine stuck out her tongue in thought as she looked over the woman and wondered what she had forgotten, her eyes squinting slightly as a small hum left her lips.

Perking up, the teen turned around and looked over the various items on the dresser, before seeing what she was looking for, causing the girl to smile slightly.

Opening the tube, Valentine leaned towards Palm and gently held her chin in her hands as she applied mascara to her eyelashes, causing them to lift slightly.

Stepping back once she had finished, the young teenager smiled in satisfaction and nodded to herself, closing the makeup, placing it on the dresser once more.

Clapping her hands together, Valentine stepped back as Palm stood to her feet and looked at herself in the mirror, before a small breath of awe left her lips.

"What do you think?"

Examining herself in the mirror, Palm was amazed by how well the blonde had done, going to touch her face and hair, before she decided against it; not wanting to ruin her beautiful work.

'It's beautiful, thank you Valentine'

Smiling softly at the woman, Valentine placed her hands on her hips and examined the woman from head to toe.

Mentally patting herself on her back for a job well done.

"You're welcome. I used to do my little sisters all the time before I left home"

Looking towards the girl in shock, Palm blinked slowly and registered the girl's words, before tilting her head to the side.

'You have a little sister?'

Humming slightly with a small nod, Valentine smiled at the woman and tilted her head slightly, her hair softly falling over her ear.

"I do, her name's Faith and she's an absolute sweetheart",Valentine explained,"I think you'd really like her! She loves sweets and her favorites are chocolate and twizzlers! She also—"

With a gentle look on her face as the girl began to rant about her younger sister; who she clearly adored, Palm lifted her hand and gently placed it on Valentine's head, causing the teenager to look at her in surprise.

'If she's anything like you, I love her already'

Once it was time to meet up with Killua and Gon, the two girls headed their separate ways.

Waiting by the small cafe just by Palm's house, Valentine held her hands together in front of her and she watched Zeus play at the fountain; playfully striking at the water with the talons on his left foot, a small smile on her face.

'Val! Hey!'

Watching as she turned around at the sound of his voice, the teenager felt as if all of the air in his lungs were taken away and his cheeks began to redden with heat, his heart rapidly pounding against his chest.

"Oh, hey Killua!"

Everything seemed to go in slow motion as a gentle breeze passed through the air, causing small blonde wisps of hair to softly fall against her cheek, the long sleeves of her shirt flowing in the wind as the light of the sun glowed around her body.

If he didn't know exactly who she was, the boy would've sworn she was an angel that had fallen from Heaven.

Not that he was saying Valentine wasn't an angel.

She definitely was in his eyes.

'Hey, you... you look..-'

Seeing that he was struggling to get his words out, Valentine opened her eyes and hummed slightly, noticing the red tint that coated the skin of his cheeks.

Clearing his throat, Killua shakily breathed in and looked into the girl's eyes, watching as they beautifully glistened in the fading sunlight.

'You look.. really pretty, Valentine'

Feeling her cheeks heat up, Valentine glanced down at the floor with reddened cheeks and she lightly kicked a rock, watching as it rolled away from the two.

With a soft smile on her face, the blonde looked back up at the silverette and a gleaming smile formed on her face as her cheeks burned with a blush.

"Thank you, Killua... you look nice too",Valentine told the silverette and glanced over his outfit.

Noticing how his sweatshirt was her favorite color, the Nitsune tilted her head to the side and a soft chuckle left her lips.

Holding out his hand to her, Killua watched as she looked at his hand in surprise and she slowly lifted her hand, gently placing it in his own, causing the silverette to gently tighten his grip.

'Come on, there's this place Zeus and I found once and I think you'll really like it'

Blinking slowly, a small smile spread across Valentine's lips and she nodded, following after the boy as he gently tugged her hand; keeping his hand in her own.

The gentle sound of running water and the soft crunch of the leaves under her feet echoed through Valentine's ears as she perked up, noticing that Killua's walking was starting to slow down.

Taking in the beautiful sight before her, Valentine's soft eyes of gold glistened like the stars in the night sky and the slight glimmer of the glowing flowers beside them gently framed her face in a heavenly light that was as calm as a breeze.

The way the leaves from the trees slowly fluttered down into the water sent a calming wave over her body and she watched the small fish in the water swim along the bank of the water, before scurrying away at the sight of humans.

The gentle sound of the long grass in the water brushing against one another filled her ears and she slowly closed her eyes, her smile softening as she listened to the gentle sounds around her.

Feeling something brush against her ear as it was put in her hair, Valentine blinked out of her trance and lifted her hand, her fingers brushing against the soft petals of a flower; the very same petals of the flowers that glowed along the ground.

Turning her body slightly, the young teenager looked up at the silverette in front of her with a look of shock that slowly softened into something more meaningful at the gentle look on his face and the small smile on his lips as his eyes trailed along her; looking from the flower in her hair to her beautiful eyes.

'Valentine..'

Humming slightly, the sunny eyed girl looked between his mesmerizing eyes of ice and noticing that he was doing the same thing as he began to slowly lean closer to her, causing the beautiful girl to tilt her head up slightly.

He was so close..

The way her eyes sparkled as she stared up at him, only made the silverette gravitate towards her more and it was as if an unknown force was pulling him closer.

And he didn't want to fight against it.

'I was wondering if you'd-... would you like to be my—'

Traces of aura washed over their bodies, causing the two to tense up and look in the direction it was coming from, their eyebrows furrowed in concentration as they recognized what the aura was coming from.

"This aura..."

'It's definitely from a soldier ant',The silverette finished her sentence and Valentine nodded in agreement,'It's not that close to us, but it's not that far away either and I don't want to take the chance of it surprising us'

Humming in agreement, Valentine took Killua's hand and the two began to walk towards where the aura was coming from, their eyes narrowed.

They both mentally agreed that it would be best for Palm and Gon to not know.

Besides, if either of them crashed Palm and Gon's date, the woman would surely have their heads.

Breaking out into a run, the two began to follow the traces of aura and the trees blurred past them as they ran, approaching their target rapidly.

Noticing something following after them, Killua glanced behind them and narrowed his eyes at the shadow that passed by the trees.

Glancing towards Valentine, the silverette knew that she had sensed the Chimera Ant based on the dark look on her face and he watched as she glanced towards him, the two nodding at one another.

After increasing their speed, Killua and Valentine lead the Chimera Ant as far away from Gon and Palm as they could, before they came to a stop.

'Ahh.. I thought I smelled humans'

As the Ant showed itself, Valentine got into a fighting position as she leaned down slightly, her foot sliding back as she remembered who this was.

It was the rabbit humanoid Ant they had fought before with Kite.

'I remember the both of you. That's right, you're two of those brats from before',The Ant spoke up and aura began to seep around their body,'It looks like your luck's run out. You're both about to get a taste of hell you're never gonna forget. Of course, it won't last forever, you know'

Since the two had lead this Ant upwind and quite far from Gon and Palm, they knew they wouldn't be in harm's way as long as Killua and Valentine dealt

'So where's that little friend of yours?',The Chimera Ant asked,'Once you tell me his location, I promise you that I'll make it quick. Well, he can't be that far, he is your friend, isn't he? It doesn't matter if you talk or not, I suppose. I'll just walk around making lots of noise and swinging around your severed heads. And it won't be long before he comes to find me, that's how humans are, am I right?'

Readying herself for the upcoming fight, Valentine clenched her fists together and her aura bursted around her body, glowing furiously as her golden eyes gleamed; Killua quickly following behind her as his aura harshly spiked.

No matter what it took, they had to protect Gon and Killua would make sure, that Valentine wouldn't even have a scratch on her.

However as soon as the Ant stepped towards them, Killua tensed up and his eyes widened as sweat began to slowly fall down the side of his face.

Noticing the look of fear, the Ant stopped for a second and slowly, a loud laugh began to leave his lips.

Glancing towards Killua, Valentine's eyes widened only slightly and her body tensed up, worry filling her body as she put up her guard.

'Perfect! That's more like it, that terrified expression',The Ant exclaimed and pointed towards Killua,'I love that one!'

A laugh left the Chimera Ant's lips as he stood up straight and a crazed grin covered his face as he stared at the silver haired boy.

'Oh, yeah. Now I really feel like killing you!'

Drool began to fall down his chin and the Chimera Ant lifted his hand, wiping away from his face as he began to walk towards them.

'I'm going to crush you into a bloody pulp'

Rushing forward, the Ant pulled back his fist and before he could strike the silver haired boy, his aura coated fist slammed into the chest of the blonde girl, watching as she was sent flying back into the boy, the two of them crashing to the ground.

With a small groan leaving her lips, Valentine peeled her eyes open and watching as the Ant stepped closer to Killua, his foot lifting.

Eyes widening, Valentine stood to her feet and her body became a blur as a piercing ring filled the air, dust flying up as she disappeared.

Bring down his foot, Rammot fully expected his heel to smash against the ribs of the silverette boy, but instead, he hit the back of the blonde girl as she covered the boy with her body, a small groan of pain leaving her lips.

Kicking the girl once more, Rammot smiled sadistically as each kick he landed on her body caused a pained noise to leave her lips and crazed laughs left him.

As small drops of blood hit the grass as Valentine coughed, the Chimers Ant froze and he seemed to drool more as he held up his hands, his sharp teeth glistening as he smiled.

'Damn.. this feels incredible. Should I kill them or should I savor it? I can't decide'

A whimper of pain left Valentine's lips as a foot connected with her stomach, sending both her and Killua flying, causing the blonde to wrap her arms around him, taking the hit as her back smashed into the ground once landing, a pained gasp leaving her.

Her mind became fuzzy and her body buzzed with electricity as something tugged at her.

...K....I...L...H...M...

A hand grabbed the back of her shirt and threw the girl away from the silverette, her body hitting the ground with a hard thump, causing the girl to let out a pained noise once more, dirt coating her clothes.

'I'll finish you off last, so then you can watch me kill your precious friend'

Panting slightly, Valentine pushed herself up with shaky arms and peeled her eyes open as she panted, watching as the Ant kicked Killua relentlessly; who only laid there.

Crazed laughs left the beasts lips as he stared down at the boy with a blood hungry and crazed look in his eyes, drool profusely falling down his chin.

Her vision seemed to blur for a moment as she stared at the silver-haired teen on the ground and suddenly, his image morphed into a small girl; who had a pool of blood surrounding her body.

Dying whimpers filled her ears and her breathing began to shake as her whole body tensed, the cries of a young girl echoing in her head.

Hatsumi...

This situation.

It was the exact same as the one from a few years ago, when her best friend was killed right in front of her eyes and her useless self wasn't able to save her as she was screaming for help.

It seemed as if a string had snapped as eyes of gold darkened significantly and her hair fell in front of her face, hiding her dark expression as her mind went blank.

As he lifted his leg once more, a painful ring filled the air and Rammot turned towards the sound with a hum of confusion.

Before the Ant could even processed what happened, a harsh force slammed into his face and he was sent flying forward, blood flying from his nose as he landed on the ground, a large trail of dust following.

An irk mark formed on the beasts face as he felt blood run from his nose and he sat up, veins popping out in anger, before standing up, his eyes widening slightly at the sight before him.

The veins that popped out along her chin were tinted black as they shone through her skin and a strange symbol glowed in one of her eyes that glowed a brilliant gold; the color so strong that it almost looked red, as her other iris was so dark that it was pitch black, the color contrasting with the white of her eyes.

The nails of her hands were so sharp that they drew blood and her teeth were sharpened to the point they almost resembled a Chimera Ants but were a bit blunter.

Harsh breaths of anger left the girl's lips as she protectively stood in front of the silverette that lay on the ground, a wince on his face as he struggled against his own mind and her body shook with rage.

Glancing back for a moment, she watched as Hatsumi and Killua's figure blurred together, the pained expressions on their faces causing her body to shake more as a boiling anger filled her entire being, her head snapping back towards the Chimera Ant as she had one objective in mind.

Destroy this bastard with everything she's got, no matter what she loses along the way.

Hearing as her foot slid back against the dirt, a chuckle left the Ant's lips and he had already gotten a hang of her speed, having studied it in their first fight.

She had only caught him by surprise because his back was turned.

Speeding towards him, the other half that controlled Valentine rose her fist and was prepared to land a strike on the beast, but was quite surprised when a foot connected with her chest, sending her back as her feet dragged across the dirt.

Dust arose around the girl's figure and darkened, glowing eyes of rust opened, a dark grin covering her face as an insane chuckle left "Valentine's" lips.

"Ohh, this is gonna be fun~"

Realizing that the girl's voice was not her own, Rammot tensed up in confusion and hummed slightly, his eyebrows furrowing.

That's strange.

Watching as she disappeared, the Chimera Ant wasn't prepared for the hit that struck his face sending him flying back, crashing to the ground.

A crazed giggle came from above him and Rammot's eyes widened in surprise with how quickly she had gotten to him.

The tip of her foot kicked his chin, causing the ant's body to fly up slightly and Valentine twisted her body, using her other foot to kick his chest, sending the ant flying once more.

A fist connected with Rammot's face before he could even react and smashed his body into the ground, causing dirt to fly up in result.

Once more, the bottom of the girl's shoe smashed into his face, pushing the ant deeper into the ground.

"It's been so long since I've had this much fun, I'm so glad she let me take control~"

Picking the ant up by the scruff, raising her hand and swinging forward, Valentine let go as soon as her fist connected with the beasts face, watching as his back slammed against the ground, blood dripping from his body.

The small plops that filled her ears as this monsters blood coated her fist and legs caused a crazed smile to form on the blonde's face as she chuckled insanely and turned her glowing eyes towards the ant as he struggled on the ground.

Lifting her leg, Valentine's eyes glowed menacingly as she glared down at the being and that crazed look on her face caused Rammot to shiver with fear, before he turned onto his stomach as he tried to crawl away.

A snap filled the air as the bottom of the girl's shoe connected with the Ant's ankle and a shout of extreme pain left Rammot's mouth as blue blood dripped down the side of his mouth, his ribs flaring with a burning pain every time he moved.

Small noises of effort and pain left the Ant as he began to crawl away, a trail of blue coating the grass as his broken ankle began to bleed profusely, the smell of blood only pulling Valentine deeper into that void as the other side of her took more control by the second.

If this continued, she'd lose the very person she was and would just be this.

A monster that only knew how to bring pain and misery.

A monster who's only objective was to kill.

A snap filled the air as blood squirted out of the wound and the bone in his lower thigh snapped into small pieces, a wail of agony bursting from Rammot's lips as gasps of anguish left him.

His body shook with pain and his eyes burned as blood fell from his lips, dripping onto the once green grass that was now stained a dark blue.

What he thought would be an easy kill had turned into a bloodbath of his own body.

A strike smashed against the Chimera Ant's cheek, making his head fly to the side and he groaned in pain, blood dripping from his mouth.

Glowing eyes eerily stared down at the ant as a shadow was casted over her face and warm, sticky blue blood coated her skin; not bothering her in the slightest.

His airway was cut off as the girl's hand wrapped around his throat and Rammot choked as he couldn't get any air into his lungs, his body being lifted into the air.

Whatever air had remained in his body was instantly pushed out as the monster of a girl slammed his back onto the ground and the dirt around them broke, sending up chunks of earth into the air.

Drops of blood and spit sprayed from the ant's mouth and his eyes shook as pain blossomed up his back, blood dripping down the side of his lips.

If this continues, the Ant knew that the girl; no matter how small she was, would crush his body with no remorse and leave nothing to remember him by.

As she stepped away, the Chimera Ant almost breathed out in relief until a agonizingly warm sensation crawled to his body and looking down, Rammot's eyes widened in horror.

The drops of the girl's blood from before that had clung to his fur were beginning to glow and emit an agonizing heat.

Before he could even question what was happening, cerise flames bursted around his body and an torturous scream of agony left the ant as the fire licked away at his skin, more blood dripping down his mouth as his eyes shook with pain.

It was as if the girl was trying to torture him because the flames soon died down and she bursted towards him with speed that shouldn't be possible for a human girl, pulling back her fist.

With as much strength as he could muster, Rammot lifted his one good leg and as the girl descended towards him, he used as much strength as he could, slamming his foot into the space just below her rib cage.

The force of the hit had knocked the other Valentine back into the void and put the girl in control as her back smacked against a tree, a pained gasp leaving her.

Slowly rising up, Valentine's arms shook and she heard as the Ant stepped closer, angered and pained pants leaving him, his body covered in burns.

'You.. stupid... You stupid brat! Why don't you just die already!? Why won't you just give up and let me eat you!'

Holding a hand to the pained area, the girl gasped for air and spit out the blood that coated her tongue, a wince on her face.

"What happened to you protecting us?",Valentine said under her breath and struggled to breath as she spit out another glob of blood.

Noticing the blood she was spitting out and the pained looked on her face, a soft chuckle left the ant's lips before it turned into a full blown laugh.

'And just when you thought you were winning, your stupid human body couldn't withstand the injuries you had already sustained and now, you can barely hold yourself up, am I right?'

Taking in many pained gasps as she tried to catch her breath, Valentine felt her chest burn and she knew she had to have broken a few ribs.

'And now, you can't even fight back!'

As a foot harshly stomped onto the side of her ribs, a gargled cough left her as blood flew from her lips and pain blossomed throughout her body, a small cry leaving her mouth.

'You can't do anything to stop me from killing you!'

Another harsh stomp smashed against her side and Valentine could've sworn she heard a snap, but she couldn't focus as a wounded shriek left her, her vision blurring from the pain.

A bit further from where they were, Killua stood up from the ground and stared at the scene with wide eyes, his breath shaking as he tried to will his body to move.

Trying to force himself to save her.

But every time he tried, a voice rang in his head and told him to run.

As Killua held a hand to his forehead, tears streamed down his cheeks and he couldn't do anything but watch as harsh attacks hit Valentine's skin, her cries filling his ears.

Why was it that she was always there to save him, to protect him? Why couldn't he be the one to protect her and instead, he was standing here doing nothing but stare and shake when she needed him most.

...Valentine, I will... protect you. I won't... I won't leave.. you.

Clenching his teeth together as his brother's voice told him to run, Killua's eyes glistened with tears as blood splattered onto the ground as another hit stomped onto Valentine's body and he shook as he tightly clenched his fists together.

Because I...

Another wave of pain struck the silverette and he reeled back in anguish, holding a hand to his head.

Illumi's voice rang throughout his mind again and again and again, telling him to run away.

To leave her behind and save himself.

Lifting his hand to land the final blow, drool fell down Rammot's chin and his nails sharpened, preparing to take the girl's life.

I don't ever want to lose you!

Rushing forward with a yell, Rammot descended towards the blonde and her eyes slowly peeled open, her pupil shrinking as her eye color flickered slightly, before fading to their natural color; her eyes beginning to darken with fatigue.

Because you're my best...

Flashes of their time together rushed throughout Killua's mind and his hands shook as every smile, every laugh, every cry, every feeling of love and every moment of him and Valentine seemed to play before his eyes.

Once again, Illumi's voice telling him to run rang in Killua's head and his hand tightened in his hair, his veins popping through the skin.

You're my best friend!

Digging his fingers into his head, a shout left Killua's lips as he pulled the needle from his head and blood flew from the wound.

Just as Rammot's strike was about to touch her body, a cloud dust filled the air as his hit struck and lifting his fist, the Chimera Ant's eyes widened when he realized the girl was gone.

A cough filled the air, causing the Ant to slowly turn around and his eyebrows were furrowed in confusion.

As she coughed, Valentine felt warmth surround her and she leaned closer to it, feeling the material of a sweater against her arm.

Noticing the blood that coated her palm, the grip on her tightened slightly and she was held closer to Killua's chest, causing her to look up; dirt on her face as red stained her lips.

Breathing out at the sight before him, the silverette's eyes watered for a moment and he leaned down, pressing his forehead against her own; his hair tickling her, as he gently rubbed the tip of his nose against her own, their lips brushing.

'I'm so sorry you got hurt protecting me, I promise that I'll protect you this time, okay?',Killua whispered and slowly kneeled down, gently placing her on the ground,'I'll take care of this, you get some rest and get your energy back'

Standing to his feet, Killua turned around and wiped the blood from his forehead, a relieved sigh leaving his lips.

'I feel so much better now. It's like I'm finally awake again',Killua explained,'No. It's more like I've finally been freed'

A shiver ran down the ant's spike and sweat dripped down his face as he was still trying to figure out exactly what had happened.

How had this boy changed in such a short amount of time.

He had just been laying on the ground, cowering in fear and now, he stood before him saying these kinds of words.

'Now go and tell the other Ants',Killua began and harshly glared at the Ant,'If they even come near us, they're all going to end up dead'

An overwhelming aura of danger and death hung around the silverette like a cloud, causing the Ant to shake with dread.

'Why you—'

Rushing forward to attack the boy, Rammot's words were suddenly cut off as Killua rushed forward and held the ant's now severed head in his hand.

'Is that so?'

Eyes turned towards the silverette and Rammot's mouth was still opened in a silent scream, shock coating the ant's face.

'Fine, who cares. It's not like I was going to let you live anyway, not after you had caused Valentine so much pain'

Glancing back towards the Ant's body with empty eyes, Killua squeezed Rammot's head with so much force, that it bursted open and a river of blue colored blood rained down, plopping onto the grass.

A look of awe formed on the blonde's face and her cheeks flared with heat, her eyes gleaming with light.

A flurry of coughs left her lips and Valentine winced slightly, holding her hand to her mouth as she wiped the remaining traces of blood from her face.

Snapping out of his trance, Killua's eyes returned to normal and a worried look formed on his face as he rushed towards his girl, kneeling in front of her as he gently pat her back, holding her close.

'It's okay, Val. Just breath, get it all out'

After coughing up another thing of blood; spitting slightly to wash out the taste of iron, Valentine wiped her lips and sighed slightly, sitting up straight as Killua kept his hand on her back.

"I didn't expect that thing to actually know how to fight",Valentine chuckled slightly and slowly shook her head,"He got me good"

Knowing that she was alright, Killua leaned forward and pressed his lips to her forehead, before leaning his against her own, a sigh of relief leaving his lips.

He would never forgive himself if she was killed by that thing and he just sat there, doing nothing to help her.

He was grateful that he had realized exactly what was stopping him and put an end to it before that could happen.

"You know, for a first date it wasn't bad at all",Valentine spoke up and hearing this, caused Killua to look down at her with a shocked look on his face,"Up until he interrupted that is"

A soft chuckle left the silverette's lips and he slowly nodded, a bright smile on his face.

'Yeah, you're right'

The two stayed there for the time being so that Valentine could catch her breath and the silverette kept her close as he softly held her head to his chest, slowly running his hand through her hair.

"Hey Killua.."

Hearing the small hum that left him and vibrated through his chest, Valentine stared at the tree line in front of her, her lips twitching up slightly.

"What were you trying to ask me before?",The young blonde questioned,"Before we sensed the Chimera Ant that is.."

Feeling as he tensed up and the muscles of his arms tensed as his grip tightened around her only slightly, Valentine hummed slightly and looked up, her golden eyes glowing under the moon's light.

Swallowing slightly, Killua leaned back and looked down at the girl in his arms, her beauty only magnifying under the light of the moon.

'I was going to ask you if...'

Trailing off, the silverette looked between her beautiful eyes and watched as they glistened under the moonlight.

Feeling his heart pound against his chest, Killua breathed in and felt as confidence washed over him for a moment.

'What I was going to ask you is... Valentine, would you.. like to be my girlfriend?'

Eyes widening slightly, color began to coat Valentine's face and she felt her heart pound against her ribs as her eyes brightened.

A gentle smile spread across the girl's lips and her eyes softened the longer she stared at him, her heart fluttering.

"...I'd love to be your girlfriend, Killua..."

AFTER SO MANY CHAPTERS!! They're finally official, my god!!

It pained me so much to write such a slow... very slow slowburn but it was so worth it!

After almost 6,000 words (literally, there's 5,953 words) this chapter was finally finished with an amazing ending that we were all definitely waiting for.
