Brenner looked down at the three year old child in disappointment. At this point, the subject's powers had came to light, but for Number Nine, nothing had shown. This hadn't happened yet, which he had found quite peculiar. Did they do something different this time? Was his powers going to come later in life? Brenner didn't know and this worried him. One thing about Brenner is that he hated not knowing information, so not knowing much about Number Nine made him scared; not only for him but for his staff and other subjects. "Number One" Brenner says to the first subject, who is on the other side of the room.

"Yes Papa?" Number One answers as he walks to the other side of the room, telling that Brenner wanted a private discussion.

"The boy is three years old and has not shown his powers yet like the rest of the subjects" Brenner scowls at Number One "The boy is ordinary! Your plan failed."

""It has not. Not yet. This takes time" Number One says to Brenner "Unlike the other children, this one is my biological child. I didn't discover my powers until I was eleven; he is probably going to be the same."

"We don't have that amount of time" Brenner frustratingly tells Number One with a sigh "Get him out of here and make sure no one finds anything that links Number Nine to here" Brenner strictly says to Number One before walking away from his first and ninth subject.

"You might not have powers at this moment in time" Number One says, holding the child in his arms "But one way or another, you will help me destroy this world. It's what you were born for after all."

Just a few weeks later, Number Three got his tattoo lasered away and got given the name Asher Hart. Number One gave him the name Asher for the nickname Ash, as Number One believes that one day, he will burn the world into nothing but ash; and he also gave the child his mother's maiden name, not wanting any traces of Asher back to the Lab, just like what Brenner had told him. After all of the legal requirements were set in place, Asher got placed into foster care to never be seen again.

What Number One didn't know is that twelve years later, he'd see his son once again... but Asher wouldn't have a fucking clue who he is.
