𝗦𝗧𝗨𝗣𝗜𝗗.

That's the best way to describe what the three of you had planned for the night.

"Think they're asleep yet orr...?" It really was a stupid idea.

"We really shouldn't be doing this.." You complain but know that won't change their minds. Once the two made a decision, there really was no getting out of it. Besides you weren't to against the idea, it sounded fun.

"Pleasee...it'll be fine." Otoya rolled his eyes. "Besides what're you? Chicken?" He teases, unzipping the tent and climbing out--you and karasu quickly following suit.

"Bro why's it lowkey cold.." Karasu shivered once the cold air nipped his skin, trampling back into the tent to grab a jacket. "It was hot as satans asshole earlier." He grumbles walking back out and beginning to lead the way, the trail dimly illuminated by the moon.

It wasn't even something you'd have that much fun doing, they only wanted to do it because you weren't allowed to. Because you could be saying all your stupid ideas and story telling in the tent.

A midnight hike was something good only in a movie, because the group doing it is usually less stupid, unless it was meant to go wrong--like in a horror movie.
It'd been some time of mindless talking and walking through the trail before you realized that the dark is disorienting.

"Uhm..." You mumble, pursing your lips. Taking a look around you came to an area where there were no more landmarks or signs. Even though they were hard to see they were still helpful, at the very least comforting.

"Did either of you bring your phone..?" Otoya asks, a sheepish smile across his face.

"You good? I asked if you brought your phone, I'm curious what time it is." You'd been spacing out, and for good reason--as this was that same area you'd gotten lost in that night all those years ago. Or at least the area looked similar. Trees and dirt look just about the same..especially in the dark.

Otoya looked at you curiously, as you'd been in your own head since you've been walking under the sun to dry off after swimming.

"Okay....but hear me out..Like what if, you could see inside of a house..like.." Karasu paused, his face scrunching in thought.

"Like a peephole?" Otoya chimes.

"Yes bro! Like some sorta reverse peephole, so you could see inside the house and see if their home." It had been awhile since you started your midnight walk, the forest surrounding you started to feel more and more endless.

"Like..stalking." You sigh fanning your shirt to shake off some of the water and simultaneously cool off in the heat, from being under the sun. The way your shirt was clinging to you made you feel gross and uncomfortable, the only thing you wanted was to get back to the tent to change.

"We're almost done right..?" You complain, hunching slightly as your emotions swelled within you. Karasu's parents had told you to dry of before dragging water into the tent to change.

"I mean...your kinda...still soaked.." Otoya mumbled, taking in the way your wet clothes clung to your figure. "Think we can convince your parents to dry off with a towel for once?" Sometimes old people are odd. Such as not wanting to get towels wet. What if you want to use them to lay down on? You can't reuse them when their dry after you get them wet, apparently.

Fuck none of you understood that.

Circling back to your set up, your met with the smell of what was soon to be your dinner, cooking on the grill. "Don't ask for a towel, you can finish drying off while we eat dinner." The answer you expected..but at the moment the three of you couldn't have cared less as your stomach was completely overriding anything else.

Stumbling over each other to get sit down, you three sat at the picnic table--both boys placed themselves on both sides of you. As his mom handed you paper plates, you three couldn't help but bump into each other in your seat as you impatiently waited for the food to be passed out.

"Settle down, I know I'm not giving food to animals in a zoo." His mom sighed as she passed out napkins and silverware that she knew none of you were going to use.

Once the food was passed around and you scarfed it down like animals, stupid jokes in between which resulted in food occasionally spitting out of your mouths..karasu's parents had just learned not to sit at the table with you as you three ate...

Once you finished multiple plates you were sent off to the tent to change, as they set up the camp for roasting marshmallows and making s'mores. "Oh shit..uhm..." Otoya grumbles rummaging through his bag in the tent before turning around with a towel in hand. "Forgot I remembered to bring on this year..since your parents don't allow us to use theirs."

He..forgot. . . He seriously went through all the steps of remembering to bring it, packing it and then forgetting he had it when you actually could use it. "Not gonna lie bro ion need it, coulda used it like an hour ago though.." Karasu rolled his eyes, peeling off his shirt to change.

"Yeah yeah..." Eita crawled out of the tent with the towel, before extending his hand out to you impatiently. It was hard for him not to realize your lingering stare on tabito. He felt the same with you on the hike to dry off earlier...was it the heat making you all act up? 'Yeah..definitely.' You were his best friend and the two of them were yours. None of you thought of each other as anything more.

Breaking from your trance, you take his hand--even though you don't need it..stepping out of the tent otoya quickly plopped the towel on your head, ruffling your hair as he snickers to himself. Catching glimpses of his smirk when the towel would occasionally flicker momentarily past your eyes allowing you to see your tormentor, it was hard not to smile.

Suddenly the merciless attack on your head slowed, a small crack through the towel allowed you to see...what exactly were you seeing? If you were to be completely honest, it was a look you'd never seen from eita. Almost like...

Fondness? Oddly enough, the best way to describe him at that moment--was soft? Was that really the right word, for your best friend? That didn't sound like him. And as you were looking straight at him--they was no other way to describe that look in his eyes 𝗔𝗦 𝗔𝗡𝗬𝗧𝗛𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗕𝗨𝗧.
