alrighty, so in complete contrast to lapis lazuli, here we have my youngest child (and my other favourite, but don't tell the others). now, this book hasn't been through quite so many revisions as LL, but it has had a lot of covers — they're just basically all variations of the same thing 👉👈 that being said, that does mean they all fit a very clear aesthetic, and i do love them all a lot! i just have a slight addiction to constantly making more...

CURRENT COVER: so this cover and the next are fairly interchangable, i love them both a lot. but look at the wonderful sadie stanley, isn't she pretty! i'm on much better terms with her now that she's finally starred in projects that give me good pics and gifs. and i just think this picture is so stunning! it's good quality and just fit the aesthetic of the book so well. my only irk is that her hair is very blonde, whereas paisley is much more of a coppery brunette (bordering on redhead, but not quite).

i actually can't stare at this one for too long or else i do get tempted to change it back again (for like the thousandth time). and don't get me wrong, i am aware that these first two covers are practically the same, but pros of this cover include; it has dowlas on it, and this is the most paisley-like photo that sadie has. but i don't love the text on the cover as much as the first one, so I'm not sure. maybe it's time to swap them out again...

okay, shoving these two covers together because they're quite similar vibes (???) and also my two least favourites. they're good fun, they were just a bit more experimental, so they fit the 'needlepoint' look less than the others. a big absence of leaves me thinks.

ahhhh the classic. there are so many things i do still love about this one, ngl. the quote, the use of the actual needle and thread — she definitely has her strengths. and with that, she's probably the most accurate at capturing what the book is about. but she just doesn't hit the same as the others, you know — she isn't as aesthetically pleasing to me, but she'll always have my heart <3
